  1. Hello. I am at my U.G in electronics, and i have come across a disturbing scene in which i am to consider holes as particles, ie contained mass. Could someone please explain this....in a language more soothing to a novice student of electronics, is warmly welcomed
  2. No.You should cool the nitrating mixture itself before starting the reaction. ...The bicarbonate is used to neutralise any acidic residues in the sample, for, upon drying, they would else digest the gun cotton, making it a waste, or in the same process, generate enough heat to detonate it. No matter how much one tries to cleanse the NC, one can never get rid of some trace acids, which could again as said before lead to explosions, etc.by some reacions, unknown to me at the moment. Thus it is wise to store your NC in distilled water....And wise to not store it at all:).
  3. Quanta by itself means discrete. Light is supposedly delivered in dicrete(quanta)packages...etc

  5. Numbers are numbers what ever be the base.In decimal its base ten so every integer between 0-9 is multiplied to powers of ten according to the value one wants to describe be it form 0 to 9 or more. The base 2 case is treated similarly. Because there are only two discrete elements in this number system it has bee chosen in digital systems to indicate the 0 by a ground and a 1 by a high. This is how we have chosen to represent the number line to a comp.
  6. Yeah...the comp in front of you is using the same "conventions for doing binary operations which involve decimals...1's and 2's complements and so on..
  7. Hello... I am currently doing my U.G in electronics... However I am suffering with a networking course which has a tinge of graph theory in it. I feel my graph theory skills should be optimised, but i fail to find a good book which deals with the subject and its networking applications with sufficient rigour. Could anyone direct me to one?
  8. ps2...you should go to a accupuncturist, he'll probably help you out.
  9. My answer to your question is incomplete(i.e the fact that '"everything" has not yet been described by any mathematical model), but whatever can be described with a decimal system can obviously be described by a system of another base.
