I agree. But can you really learn what you want? For example, lets say i liked frogs. Would an alternative school allow me to undertake my own learning or would they structure an education program around frogs for me?

Hi, just in response to your post about attending an alternative school. I am currently in my final year of an education course in Australia. We haven't really had much experience with alternative schooling as there is not a large number of them in the state. I was just wondering if you knew the theory behind alternative schooling as opposed to traditional schooling. Cheers Matt

Hi - Matt here from Australia, We are currently entering a new phase in education known as outcome based education. I'm sure many of you out there are familiar with the term. I was just wondering if any one has had any experience with outcomes based education particularly with regard to science? What kind of difficulties have you encountered? What are some of the benefits of the system in regard to science? Any responses are appreciated
