I thought it would be fun to make a thread of annoying myths. I'm sure everyone is annoyed by myths that the naive general public sometimes belief.
Ok some of mine:
There is no gravity in space (when the astronauts go up)
Humans only use 10% of there brain. (I guess this is debatable)
Seasons are caused by how far away from the sun earth is.
Creationism (I had to say it)
These are all I've heard people say and believe to be true. I bet everyone has heard some.
I would say four would be good. There would be more room but still enough people. Take away too many and society would probably collapse, too few would cause stressed enviroment. I think it would also depend on new inventions and ideas in the future to limit pollution and get more space.
Well if you look at it from general realativity, the earth is in a straight orbit but the sun bends space time from all its mass which causes earth's straight path to not be straight. Is this correct?
It is actually dependent on energy. Mass can be converted to terms of energy for computations. For most situtations newtonian gravity works but at speed of light or near black holes it doesn't.(general relativity)
Our sun's event horizen if compressed would be 3.33 km, 100 miles seems pretty large. I just went to a lecture which dealt with some of this from a professor from FIU. It was pretty interesting.
1.) Each year money is lost or destroyed (by government or people)
2.) Money would mean nothing without backing and would ultimatley fail.
3.) How does the government end up with this money?
You might want to include the pressure at various depths otherwise ionization energies mean nothing. Also, would these pressures strip water of hydrogen? You have said a lot of weird things, and you'll need some proof. Also, the further to the center of the earth you go, the lower the gravity. You might also explain how your speculation predicts as many things as the iron/nickel one and why it would be right. So far you've rambled.
What would you consider practical? You're gonna need some form of every element in the chemical equations and you won't always have them on hand. What chemicals do you have access to? You will most likely need to order some.
Mix it with silver nitrate (other metals will work too)
KCl + Ag(NO3) → AgCl + KNO3
:edit: AgCl will be the solid and potassium nitrate will be the liquid I believe
