Hey help please. I am so lost. I get most of the problems. but these stump me. 3. The mass of a robot is 5740 kg. This robot weighs 3440 N more on planet A than it does on planet B. Both planets have the same radius of 1.33 107 m. What is the difference MA - MB in the masses of these planets? 4. A passenger is pulling on the strap of a 16.0-kg suitcase with a force of 61.0 N. The strap makes an angle of 37.0° above the horizontal. A 37.8-N friction force opposes the motion (horizontal) of the suitcase. Determine the acceleration of the suitcase. 5. A 92 kg water skier is being pulled at a constant velocity. The horizontal pulling force is 270 N. (a) Find the magnitude of the total resistive force exerted on the skier by the water and air. (b) Find the magnitude of the upward force exerted on the skier by the water.

So my teacher gave us a due date...October 25 and a summary of what we are to do. Here is what we can do 1) Build a car from SCRATCH that will be only caused to move by the energy provided by dropping a 2kg mass {the mass must stay with the car}. no other source can contribute to the motion of the car. the evaluation will be based on distance traveled compared to your peer's. or 2) Build a tower that is the lightest design but will hold a maximum of 15kg. the tower must be of wood and bonded by glue. you may use pieces of wood no larger than 1/4 inch by 1/4 inch in cross-section. if dowels are used their diameter may be no larger than 1/4 inch. wood may be of any length. unlimited lamintation by the student is allowed. the tower must be at least 50.0 cm tall and must support a square loading block which is 5.0 cm by 5.0 cm by 2.0 cm which also must be supported so that an eye ring and chain can fit down through the center of the tower without touching the tower. the portion of the tower that is above 15 cm from the testing platform must fit through 8.0cm diameter round hole. um...ENGLISH please? urgh. Physics is gonna kill me:( Does anyone have an instruction booklet? lol. does he really just expect me to be able to jump in this without some instruction or clue as to what is being asked? um...hello. 1d and 2d motion is hard enough thank you anyroad. if anyone knows what any of this gibberish means, help/advice would be greatly appreciated. ~onlythorns

Ok, so five people have tried to explain this to me but I don't get it. Please help me. A car drives striaght off the edge of a cliff that is 46m high. The police at the scene of the accident note that the point of impact is 138m from the base of the cliff. How fast was the car traveling when it went over the cliff? I need in-depth detail. I cannot get it. thanks. ~onlythorns

So I never figured out the answer to this question. I only have one more try. ---Klaynos...in USA we obviously use different letters in our equations. I don't know what u means. V in US means velocity...maybe you can clear this up for me?

i didn't get the right answer...i feel stupid i am craving mexican food. so i dont know why i got it wrong i got negative 8.2

Negroes and King-Size Phalli: Debunking the Myth
OnlyThorns replied to stoneage2005's topic in Biology
i know that scientifically it is not a muscle...i meant hypo--oh forget it..i am too tired. lol. well practice makes it perfect i always say. -
A tennis ball is struck such that it leaves the racket horizontally with a speed of 25.0 m/s. The ball hits the court at a horizontal distance of 19.0 m from the racket. What is the height of the tennis ball when it leaves the racket? I don't want the answer please. I just want to know what formula to use as well as a little tutoring on what the formula means and what the objects in the formula are. Thanks! Klaynos rocks my socks! LOL.

Is Kissing Instinct?
OnlyThorns replied to Basiumihi's topic in Anatomy, Physiology and Neuroscience
No kissing is not an instinct. Humans are capable of more complex mating rituals, but they are learned traits not hereditary. some may be more adept at somethings due to genetics...but either way it doesnt directly affect your kissing. -
when you were playing football you became extremely sweaty i'll bet. this caused the burn to swell with sweat. as you stopped playing or rested w/e it drained or dried.

the 1st one is correct... and i believe the 2nd is also correct.

Negroes and King-Size Phalli: Debunking the Myth

*blushes* well. i guess you just proved me wrong. i didn't think you would be the one to talk dirty...lol. Ok what you men need to understand is that the penish is a muscle, and just like any other muscle, the more you exercise it, the bigger it grows. I am not racist, but in some cases black men are larger because they are 'players' and more free about sex than white people. Thats all folks! -
I think that some women also have those problems. There are definately pyschos out there today and lack of sexual interest stimulates unhappiness. I think it is wrong to harbor lust on innocent boys though.

Hey. If you ever need help...ask yourdad. He is really helpful and sweet. If I had to give him a kiss for all that he has helped me with, he'd be smothered. *big kiss* Thanks soooo much. I'll try your problem later I want to relax for a while....... ~onlythorns

7) A tourist being chased by an angry bear is running in a straight line toward his car at a speed of 3.9 m/s. The car is a distance d away. The bear is 28 m behind the tourist and running at 6.0 m/s. The tourist reaches the car safely. What is the maximum possible value for d?

ok i have 29801.4 meters per hour and I need to conver that to miles per hour. i know that 1 mile is 1609 meters. so i take 29801.4meters/1609meters the meters cancel out. leaving me with 18.5 miles per hour... but it says i have this wrong. [[math]] 29801.4m/1609m = 18.5 [[/math]]

Ok. So I don't get them at all. I have a MAJOR test on Monday, not to mention some homework grades. I have been able to do some of the problems, but the following are stumping me. If anyone knows the answers that would be great. What would be better is if you could tell me how to do it. Thanks! 3) The length of the barrel of a primitive blowgun is 1.2 m. Upon leaving the barrel, a dart has a speed of 11 m/s. Assuming that the dart is uniformly accelerated, how long does it take for the dart to travel the length of the barrel? 4) (a) What is the magnitude of the average acceleration of a skier who, starting from rest, reaches a speed of 6.8 m/s when going down a slope for 4.8 s? (b) How far does the skier travel in this time? 5) A runner accelerates to a velocity of 5.37 m/s due west in 3 s. His average acceleration is 0.641 m/s2, also directed due west. What was his velocity when he began accelerating? 6) NASA has developed Deep-Space 1 (DS-1), a spacecraft that is scheduled to rendezvous with the asteroid named 1992 KD (which orbits the sun millions of miles from the earth). The propulsion system of DS-1 works by ejecting high-speed argon ions out the rear of the engine. The engine slowly increases the velocity of DS-1 by about 19.0 m/s per day. (a) How much time (in days) will it take to increase the velocity of DS-1 by 11900 m/s? (b) What is the acceleration of DS-1 (in m/s2)? 7) A tourist being chased by an angry bear is running in a straight line toward his car at a speed of 3.9 m/s. The car is a distance d away. The bear is 28 m behind the tourist and running at 6.0 m/s. The tourist reaches the car safely. What is the maximum possible value for d? Thanks again. I am not very good at physics.
