the ability of nerves to specify quantitative information is limited. they can only be "on" or "off", so things like the intensity of pain are communicated by the frequency of pulses. well the question I had, was how does white light get generated by only 3 different colors, Red, Green and Blue?. I took "White" anything as being a purely random mix, whether it be sound or light etc... but using only 3 definable components (mathematicly) how can that create what is seemingly "Chaos"? also to address your other point about light in a glass medium, it stores, it doesn`t create. on saturation it radiates lateraly, this principal is exploited in many Laser designs

Hmmm... `ve done a little work with esters with regard to plastics in school, most esters are sweet almost fruity smelling, that would explain the smell on a drunks breath being very sickly sweet, and not at all like raw alcohol! thnx so lemme see if I`ve got this correct... some will oxidize and turn to vinigar but that will in turn react with the etanol to create the ester acetyl aldehyde? or would it be ethyl acetate? or ethanoate? (it`s been a long time)

it`s well known that drinking Methanol "Meths" (methyl alcohol) when processed in our body gets oxidised into Fomaldehyde, consquently effecting the optic nerve and sending us blind. Ethyl Alcohol ( Ethanol) "booze" does not. I`de like to know if it gets Oxidised in the same way as methanol, and result in Vinigar (Acetic acid) in our blood. and if not, Why not?

at what point do we cease to exist? Imagine you have both you`re arms and legs removed, you`re still YOU. now take away parts bit at a time (you can even try picutre this in your own head) at what point do you seem to die? wasn`t 100% sure if this also belonged in the Evolution/Morphology forum, but it`s more a biological question It`s known that when certain strong smelling "agents" come into contact with the soles of the feet, that they are rapidly absorbed into the blood stream, you may try this yourself as an experiment, get some fresh cut garlic or Vic`s menthol rub and get someone to rub it on the sole of your foot, within about 10 mins, you`ll actualy be able to TASTE IT! I can understand why underneath our tongues works in a similar way, it`s probably all part of how we absorb nutrients, but FEET??? I want to know, what purpose this serves? why did we evolve this way? and does stinky sports shoes effect bad breath? yeah, it`s an Odd question, but I beleive it has merit

frequency and wavelength are inseperable. our visible spectrum is roughly between 10 -6m and 10 -7m or put another way 10^14hz to 10^15hz. eye peak response 5.5 x 10 -7m. frequency and speed are different. wave length is just a funtion of peak to peak distance over time or trough to trough, like on an osciloscope. frequncy is how often it occurs over time. "If a red beam travels through glass it speed will drop and its frequency but the wavelengthy/colour will stay constant " if it`s frequency drops it wavelength will increase also.

I don`t know whether this will be of any help in your calculations, but when I monitor lightening during a storm. what you actualy hear sounds like a series of small clicks that rapidly escalate in frequency to a rising tone until it gets to about 5khz then the tone seems to break up and almost become a white noise with a "Howling sound" from there it either settles back down to a decreasing tone or a very loud click (a strike) and then starts all over again, something interesting that I did note was that as soon as it starts to rain, the sounds stop and you get are the loud clicks with a strike, no whistle sounds at all.

AHA! maybe this would be a good way to explain when you draw a picture, the color of your paper is already WHITE! a bit like a sculpter, he has a solid block of stone in front of him, he then takes away all the parts that don`t look like a man using his chissel and hammer, eventualy the block of stone looks like a man. with you and your white paper, you have ALL the colors there reflecting off the page, it`s now up to you to remove all the bits of white to make it look like a man, so you draw on it covering the bits you don`t want with something darker (a pencil, a felt pen, charcoal etc...) OR you use colors pencils or crayons, that will only let certain colors be reflected off them. now, with light, it`s the opposite you sit in a dark room with a screen and lots of different colored lights. a bit like the same sculpter sitting there in front of an empty table with a bag of clay, he will then ADD all the bits that look like a man or shape the ones that don`t, you may use your lights to make different colors that`s ADDATIVE synthesis now I REALLY HOPE that helps a little, the idea`s sound even if the spelling sux

White light (using addative synthesis) is made of the 3 basic colors Red, Green and Blue. Subtractive synthesis used what you may have learned in school during Art lesson the "Primary Colors" Red ,Yellow and Blue. since it`s LIGHT and not reflected colors were discussing, we need to use Addative synthesis hope that helps

it does raise an interesting question with regards to pure Red, Green and Blue, at mono frequencies generating "white" light though. I took is as, "white" anything, is a purely a random dispersion of frequency and amplitude. so it does raise how with 3 known frequencies, a random event can occur? or is it just to do with the limitations of our eyes? white light splits into 7 basic colors red, orange,yellow,green,blue, indigo,violet. and all frequencies between. some from 3 calculable elements randomness can occur? or maybe Chaos at a push?

I think the enzyme they use to do this is Protease, it`s how they eat, inject the prey, dissolve them then suck up all the juices (hope your not eating), often accompanied by a neuro toxin to parylise(sp?) the victim, I think it`s a Choline Esterase Inhibitor (creates signal over loads in the nerves and intense pain) Snakes use it also.

here`s how I understand dejavu (for what it`s worth) I`ll start with a common and documented experience that were all had, going to sleep ever gone to sleep and woke up 5 mins later but infact and 3 hours have passed? or been asleep all night and it`s only seemed like 10 mins? it`s almost as if our subconscious minds have no real concept of time. I think the guy with the key and kite would disagree as would the fellas that measure lightening by firing rockets up into storms with a wire trail. the lightening conductors there to atract lightning, so that if it IS likely to strike a tall building, it would prefer the conductor than say maybe the elevator shaft I live on the top floor of a 12 story appartment block, on my balcony there`s a lightning conductor about 3 feet away from me on the roof, its been hit twice in the 13 years I`ve lived here. they do work I figure that a laser could do the work of a 100 with wire, actualy baiting it rather than passively distract it and chanel it away with current tech. You`re perfectly correct about the possitive ions leaving the sharp point of the conductor, it makes it more "tasty" for the lightng in comparison to the other items around it that emit a weaker possitive charge, that was the basis for my original design (post #1(ish).

well I figure that as soon as the lightning hits the collar, that will be the shortest path to Earth, following the beam would be not an option, one laser per golf course and servo contoled mirrors to direct the beam, using underground conduits. as for looks, I haven`t got a clue? unless it was in the visible spectrum, but I can sure imagine the sound and picture the steam trail IF it was raining too

with cannabis, there`s male and female, but on occasion you can hermaphrodites(sp?) but also it`s possible just to pollenate a few "colas" on some branch tips, giving SOME seeds for next year, but also leaving the rest of the plant seedless (strange I know?) I`ll give it a shot next year re: hybribs, the seasons about over now for chilis to flower and I don`t have a greenhouse. I wondered about the pollen color as there`s such a wide variety of different colored flowers even to some that are almost blue (corn flowers for instance) yet all the pollen I`ve seen seems to yellow? wondered if it was some chemical reason for it, I would have thought that maybe red would be a workable color too?

Hmmm... another idea just popped into my head, not sure how effective it would be though. When a laser fires it leave an ionised pathway, I`m not sure how much would be needed to make it at least partly conductive though? perhaps a laser being fired up towards potential storm clouds (obviously rigged to flight path computers and satellite trackers to avoid hitting any) through a series of grounded collars (a bit like the setup in the old vacume tubes), making a pathway via the ion trail safely to the collars and Earth? does that sound workable at all?

I understand what you mean though, as I`m fairly sure tomatoes and even grass (lawn type) will give pollen and still make viable seeds, it does seem to be more common that way around. this may sound a stupid question, but why pollen always yellow? also... could I cross pollenate say a chili with a Bell pepper? the sort on Pizzas? I`de like to grow my own variety of chilli, the ideal would be a large chili thats not MEGA hot, but the same aroma as the MEGA hot sort
