  1. yeah, we used cement in the end it`s a bit like that test to determine which of 2 eggs is the boiled one, that one that won`t spin properly is unboiled. (sorry if off topic a bit)
  2. continue! absolutely! you were curious enough to ask, so it`s in your nature to be interested in such things and that`s comendable! just learn what your teachers teach, and accept what they say for now, there is a reason they teach it in the order that they do, as each stage is like a stepping stone no, Don`t forget what they`ve taught you, you`ll need it! it just means that a bit later you will have NEW ideas ADDED to your existing ones and for what it`s worth, I`m 36. Mrl Jakiri, the cans down the slope will work, but not if one is liquid filled (backed beans or soup) at least it never did with me, cement used to work though a straight drop from a height worked the same though.
  3. the more MASS the stronger the pull, In space or free fall we are free of the effects of gravity, also in space there is no weight, we only have mass, and inertial velocity. Newtons laws are obeyed perfectly in space, there is no contradiction? the greater the velocity the more MASSIVE it becomes. no, I can`t envisage a way that the Earths rotation could be mabe faster, SLOWER yes, infact we have already slowed it down a fraction by building the huge water reservior dams. the space craft and man would be moving approx 29,000 Km per hour, but so would the man that`s why when your in a car doing 70 miles an hour and drop a ball, it doesn`t stick to the back window
  4. A thought that I`ve was pondering over some years back, lead me to an idea regarding telepathy, I`ve much anecdotal evidence as to it`s possible existance as I`m sure most here have also (knowing who`s on the fone before you answer it, or going to call someone up and the fone rings as your about to dial etc...) we know that our brains and indeed bodies work on electrical impulses, thjat is fact. we also know that ANY electrical impulse creates an electro magnetic feild (no matter how small) is also a fact. EM inpulses when switched on/off or changing states, will emit a radio frequency also fact. so, with a little leap of the imagination, it could be POSSIBLE that our brains can pick up on these signals since they would be of the same sort as our own brains. and also fact is that the lower the frequency the longer the wavelength and the further it will travel. tests have been done in isolation chambers using EM feilds that have created odd feelings and halucinations in the subjects. so MAYBE telepathy isn`t all that far fetched? I could never work out why powerfull radios don`t seem to effect us though?
  5. Gravity will always be where there are 2 masses, spinning or otherwise, the Earths spin has an opposing effect on gravity, infact if it were to spin much faster we`de all fly off into space it`s the ballance between spin and gravity that keeps objects in orbit. too fast, they move apart, too slow and they fall together. hope that helps a little?
  6. Dave, LOL, yer right! that zarkov guy`s a Hoot don`t get me wrong, I`ve nothing against "radical" I think radical`s good in its place, it can lead to many undiscovered paths that lead to known scientific principals. I mean where would we be without some of the radical ideas men and inventors in or history? but this guy takes the cake and the funniest part... I think he REALLY beleived half of it too! thnx for the Tip
  7. watched a neat documentary about these crop circle things (Discovery chan I think?). and another atribute that many share is the spherical iron particles and ruptured nodes on the grass. several M.I.T students were given the task of replicating a circle and were given something like 2 hours to do it in. they designed some neat stuff one was like a flame thrower that fed iron filings into the flame jet via a hopper, the other was a portable microwave generator with the waveguide on the end of a pole (looked like a vacume cleaner) that created the node ruptures. well anyway, after they`de done, they got "experts" in to check it. It fooled them they used the plank of wood on feet technique, the microwave and the iron sphere generator and did the lot at night in 2 hours gravity my a$$
  8. Well if there`s no such thing as metalic life, how do you explain Terminator 2 ?
  9. Is that the section where I`de post my magnetic tesla comb hair treatment for baldness then? LOL I`m intrigued now, I`ve gotta go and have a look in there, If I aint back in a few days, I`ve bust a gut laffin
  10. they`re even radiation proof to an extent. though I have no idea how they managed to "evolve" that mechanism either?
  11. It`s everything that glider said, but it happens so fast (a heartbeat or less) that it feels like an electrical shock.
  12. lol, no such luck here again, too many clouds and rain as per usual. 900X wow, I`ll bet that looks good when it`s in one peice I find it hard enough to track objects with my 500x, there`s a real skill to it, one I don`t seem to have as yet. tonight looks like it might be promising though
  13. maybe put a disclaimer page in there, that no one actualy endorses the ideas herein. then add a Jokes sub in there too for good measure
  14. I`de put my money on cockroaches and rats if the sh!t hit the fan for us. A possible argument against or certainly not in support of "evolution" per se, would be since nature evolves through neccesity for survival, how come our brains are so big? since a best we only use 10% of it. I`ve never heard of nature evolving things with an "eye to the future" before? on a more trivial note, why do men still have nipples? wouldn`t we have "outgrown" the need for them by now?
  15. that`s Adrenaline for fight/flight response iirc. not too sure how it differs tho, probably not much I should imagine, only that it`s not backed up with physical injury.
  16. so what do ya recon`s going on with it then? I`ve even tried sheilding the electronics (tin foil) with only the Muller tube exposed, same result? and I can`t beleive that a simple plasma ball you can by from any lighting or gadget shop would create Gamma or Beta rad
  17. I bought a Geiger Counter a few years ago, It was a kit costing about £70. I`ve had it tested by a friend of mine at Birmingham Uni, and she wrote a rough list of test results, It`s almost deaf at Alpha radiation, better response at Beta and works just fine at Gamma. that being said, I was wondering WHY it goes absolutely balistic when I put it near my plasma ball or my Tesla Feild generator? I`ll get counts from over 3 feet away! anyone have any ideas what may cause this?
  18. Blike, have you told him you drive a car now

    earth science

I`m totaly with Chaos on this one, Profitable = Preferable. Just a pity it seems to be the sole motivator for a good 99.99% of us.

    hey...Blike

tell em you`ve got Aids, they`ll think twice about messin with ya then
  21. NSX, GCSE = General Certificate of Secondary Education (iirc) kinda like what you`de expect to leave High School with. I already have my A level chem, and did half my A level Biology (droped out like a dumbass). but since this is the only course in Science at my local college, I figured I may as well take it, rather than wasting a year doing nothing.
  22. a good view should still be possible over the next week though (encouraging for us UKers like myself). I like that idea that Ice caps can be seen with simple 7x binocculars, I got a 500X (theoretical) telescope from Argos (about £80). now I just gotta wait for the damn clouds to shift!
  23. Yup, tea time here too, but I usualy leave about 6:30 coz I`m the cook
  24. so taking it to it`s ultimate conclusion, the universe would just end up as a whole bunch of photons eventualy?

    anyone ply sports?

so these Airsoft pellets, are they in "normal" calibre .22 and .177, or is it for special guns? as I asked at my local gun club about plastic pellets and he didn`t stock them (I wanted them for indoor target use, wad cutters). maybe I`ll say "airsoft" next time, he may know of that.
