  1. I didn't expect to be so close. Then the expected graviton would be a reaction to the contact with Higgs?
  2. So if i understand clearly; An ocean of Higgs gives what is call "mass" to particles. When particles have "mass" they emit some other kind of particles we call "gravitons" that transmit gravity to each other. Is that it?
  3. If they "cannot be the same" then what is the property of mass?
  4. Thank you Imatfaal. Very instructive.
  5. Higgs boson is what gives mass. Mass is the cause (?) of gravity. There must be some link. _Higgs is a boson. _Graviton is a boson. _Higgs is expected to have spin zero so it is attractive _Graviton is expected to have spin 2.so it is attractive
  6. Better grip of feets. For apes undoubtedly.
  7. ------------------------ An American to Paris, France enters a café on the Champs-Élysées avenue and looks at the catalog. He asks the waiter: _Well, i see you have on your catalog "coffee 2 Euros" and on the other page "coffee 4 Euros". what's the difference between the two coffees? and the waiter answers; _2 Euros ------------------------------- Two Italians sit at the cafeteria. The waiter comes; _what would you like to drink sir? _a capuccino for me. _and for you sir? _Yes, good idea, a capuccino for me too. But please take attention the cup to be clean! -OH of course sir, we are a very respectable establishment! The waiter goes, obviously annoyed. After a few minutes, he comes back with a silver disk and 2 fuming cappucinos. He asks the 2 gentlemens: "the clean cup is for whom?"
  8. In a few words, poetry apart you look like constructing an argument that the olocaust could have been avoided if people at that time were allowed to carry guns. Is that it?
  9. Patience. or maybe posting some part of your pdf. to begin discussion Members often don't waste their time on the links.
  10. Oh. That's the subject of the thread. Not "On a train ride between Bremerhaven and Zweibrucken blah blah blah."
  11. I think it is perfectly clear. The problem is not about the choice of colors. There is an obvious influence from the graphism of the infinite sign (or the mobius strip maybe). I find the title "origin of Universe" totally misleading but I like the concept. I prefer to wait for other more knowledgeable members.
  12. My first thought is that if you are correct then there is no need for origin.
  13. I have to admit i understand less and less lately. I thought graviton was expected to be a spin 2 boson because of attraction, but that is about graviton, not Higgs. So yes I suspected that Higgs is not thought as a force, otherwise Higgs & graviton would be one and the same thing. If Higgs boson is a "force carrier" (is it?), what force is it linked to? Is it mass without gravity? I am lost.
  14. Is that you Steve?
  15. The link looks safe. Click the yellow "qui" in the first page and that's it.
  16. What is the relation between Higgs boson and graviton ?
  17. Does this interaction acts along some direction? like action and reaction?
  18. One could argue that we observe only a two-dimensional view at once. That is the reason why we recognize what a still picture represents. A movie is 3D (2D picture + time), and a "3D movie" is in reality 4D.
  19. Yes. a location, I agree. The mainstream states that an object in space can be at many such locations. The mainstrean interpretation says that an object is (was/will be) at T1, T2, T3 and represents the whole object as a line expanding in spacetime. My own pet theory states that those locations are mutually exclusive, the same way that spatial locations are mutually exclusive. When an object is at location T1, it cannot be at T2 or T3. When the object is at T1, coordinates T2 and T3 are empty.
  20. ------------------- Maybe they used one of these fake sugar bottles they use in movies to smash over each others head, with just some water in the bottom, or simply pre-heated. Notice that the bottom of the bottle not only broke away from the bottle but fall into pieces.
  21. Capillarity is fine. Take attention that tissue paper is not isotropic. One direction is not the same as the other because the tissue is woven in a certain way. That's why you can tear in two a piece of tissue along one direction without any difficulty, while not along the other. The same happens with newspapers. ----------------- that makes me think that you could measure the resistance to traction in one direction and then the other. ------------------------- other: put the tissue flat on a table top. Then blow hard in the direction parallel to the table top.Horizontally, tangent to the surface. If you do it correctly, the tissue will collate to the table instead of fly away as expected. Then find the physical explanation. ------------------ other Ask how to measure the thickness of a paper tissue with a common wooden ruler or a tape measure. ----------------- other Ask to fold it in half twelve times. Or 36 times. Then explain why it is not feasible.
  22. I think that commonly people have a wrong view of time as if it was something that had the power to put things going on. As much as i know, Time is not a force. Time is not one of the 4 interactions. Time should be considered more as an effect, not as a cause. IOW the question should be changed by asking "what do I have to change in physics in order to observe time reversal?"
  23. 5 minutes from now.
  24. Around 1975, i visited in East germany the Buchenwald concentration camp. it is an experience I will never forget. what I understand from the situation, it all begins with propaganding that some people are not humans. after that has been "explained" it gets easy. That's the way slaves were handled. Millions of black people have lived an equivalent worst experience* on the same principle. Native indians have been exterminated, and native south americans too. IOW it is not a world gone mad. It is the awfulest side of the world and I am really afraid it may happen again if we don't beware constantly. *just to get an idea have a look at the way to put slaves aboard the "aurore" ship here
