That's a problem, indeed.

At least it is testable. It means, if i understand well, that planets change orbit abruptly. But not necessary. Your theory can stand without that. It means that all planets have a different age. And it means the Sun is throwing away matter in roughly the same direction in order to put the planets in the same orbital plane as Klaynos pointed.

That is what my lawyer would tell to the audience. _______________________________ O.K. i apologize. Usually i don't react this way when a natural disaster happens. _______________________________ There are enough victims, and there was no intent to hurt anyone ( No "dolos", how do you call that?). But What I see is a situation getting worse. I don't think the methodology is adequate. From the first moment they used sea water, it was expectable that radiation would escape from the plant. I suppose sea water was not part of an already ruined closed system, and now that they are throwing water by any means, the entire rebuttal must be ejected to the sea. IMHO intervention should first focus on keeping radiation inside, it is not what I see. ______________________________ i have the feeling that for some reason they don't want to apply the Tchernobyl solution.

I am Architect. In a region where earthquakes do happen. if one of my building collapse due to an earthquake, I will go to trial. If people die, I will go to jail. Or at least, I should.

I do not consider myself well informed. And I consider that after reading over & over past posts, suposedly well-informed people have made bad assumptions on the event. I see that as a lack of objectivity. Incident became accident, level 4 was raised to level 5, now upgraded to level 6. The drama hasn't finished yet. People are struggling there and they will die. For the politician who will not die, that makes 10070 deaths instead of 10000, not a big difference. And counting that they get 70 heroes they even have a gain in percentage. It is absolutely disgusting. I would suggest to send Tepco's general director work on the site, together with the seismologist who prescripted the maximum magnitude of the resistance of the building, and the one who made prescriptions for 6 meters tsunami (instead of 14m that happened), and the engineers and other consultants or politicians who took the irresponsible decision to choose the emplacement for nuclear plants in seismical region. Because at the moment, no responsible person will die. Only other heroes who feel responsible for a situation in which other people put them. Like war. If those people hear my suggestion, I bet they will raise level to 7 and engrave the plant under tons of concrete at once. What is your actual information?

Does anyone here practice mental calculation?

Edifying thread to read back from the beginning. It includes comments based on misinformation, good & bad evaluations. Very interesting. Also the fact that SFN members don't seem interested anymore.

Why would he do that? You can insert a pin into a fresh egg without further damage. Also I suspect that Mr Grom don't use eggs from the supermarket. It is well known that the fragility of the shell is related to its thickness, and that "The variation of breaking strength and thickness of eggshell is the least at the time of heavy egg production" You could ask a farmer instead of looking in Wikipedia. He would also probably say that the thickness is related to nutriments.

It is a terribly complicated question. Ethnicity does not mean same language, Nation does not mean ethnicity nor language. Religion is different too, and nationality. All those concepts are different. For example, I am Belgian. You must know that 2 languages are spoken in Belgium and that is the obvious reason why the country is close to be cut in pieces (not speaking about the hidden reasons, off topic). But the limit between the 2 regions does not coincide with the language spoken in it, there are a lot of people speaking one language inside the limit of the other. Cutting is not easy. In order to make people agree with the split of the country in two, some are building a new "ethnicity" based on existing (and exact) documents based on history. In other words, it will happen tomorrow that I am not a Belgian anymore, but a Flemish or a Walloon. The same way as a Chekoslovian is now either a Czechian or a Slovakian. So yes, territorial inclusion constitute a form of ethnic bond, but not naturaly: it is made on purpose by politicians in order to make the territorial boundary solid. When the boundary is not suitable any more everything can change. About 2 centuries ago, the contrary happened in Europe: Lombardesians and Napolitans became Italians, Bavaroisians and Berliners became Germans, Bretons and Corses became French. Neither they spoke the same language then.

It is an error to believe that the limit of a territory can coincide with the limit of ethnicity. A territory limit is permeable, you will find mixed ethnicities on both parts of the border. If you want to make the 2 limits coincide you must use coercitive methods and build a wall. That is IMHO a very bad way of proceeding.

Mnemonics for mental calculation. Arthur is impressive, but it has more to do with memory and less with calculation. The fact that Arthur finds the correct result by the beginning (from left to right, 3 billions, etc.) is an indication of mnemonics. Under standard calculation, the result begins by the end (from right to left, the solution for the last digit comes first). I know only basic tricks for mental calculation, nothing from mnemonics. There is no comparison.

The Wave Function, what exactly is it?

I suppose he (Swansont) means it is zero where the sinusoidal intersects the horizontal axis. IOW at both ends for all cases, plus in the middle for N=2. It should be clear that the name "particle in a box" may mislead. This is a case of a "particle on a rope", or One-dimensional solution of the particle-in-a-box example. As explained in the wiki article (see previous link): What I don't understand is how one can conciliate the 2 statements: 1_that no forces act upon the particle inside the box 2_infinitely large forces repel the particle if it touches the walls of the box How do "forces repel the particle" if the probability to find the particle next to the wall is zero? If it was a classical system, the particle should hurt the wall in order to "feel the force" in the first place. Like a ball bouncing. In this case the probability to find the particle next to the wall would be non-zero. The only other solution should be to admit that repelling forces acting at a distance do exist inside the box. I don't get it. -
The question goes like this: Take a random material body B. At this body B you can associate a set of 4 coordinates x,y,z,t, say 1,2,3,4 (where 1,2,3 are spatial coordinates, and 4 is the time coordinate), that is simply to determine where the body is, and when. Say that motion does not occur, only time elapses. The body B remains at rest for a unit of time, the coordinates evolve into 1,2,3,5. The question is simply to know whether the body B "moved" from 1,2,3,4 to 1,2,3,5 or if the body duplicated and somehow "exist" at both coordinates. IMHO to body "moved", it does not duplicate.

The Wave Function, what exactly is it?
michel123456 replied to darkenlighten's topic in Quantum Theory
(emphasis mine) IMHO: The photon has no wave function. We are the ones who are in search of explanations and "give" to the photon a wave function. As you said, the wave function is nothing physical. The photon has no idea about how humans have decided to mathematize, the photon don't "care" about wave function, scientists do. Reversely when you say "we have collapsed the wave function" it looks like humans have stolen or destroyed something from the photon. But nothing like that happens. The photon never "had" a wave function and we never took the wave function away. Simply, mathematization is no more necessary to calculate position & momentum. I hope that is what you wanted to explain. -
Imperialism. "all of these stars ... these vast worlds that remain out of reach. If I could, I would annex other planets." Cecil Rhodes.

Is that a part of Relativity? Or is it speculation?

I understand your point. And I disagree. Material consumption is something anybody wants. From Kings to slaves, from Pope to atheists. It is the easiest way to achieve happiness: accept temptation. The very difficult way is to refuse temptation, to take the road of Buddah. You can't seriously ask for the whole humanity to climb that narrow path by foot, when the highway is open right there. If you whish, show the example, and find happiness hearing the voice of your empty stomach, smelling the boiled rice of your neighbour, while I think of you drinking champagne next to the pool, staring at my brand new mercedes, smelling the barbecue at the terrace of my house after a short trip on my speed-boat to the next island in the Aegean.* ----------------- * i whish it was true.

Dale is right. Speculation on this Forum has a bad taste. There is no way to support any speculation there, it is treaten as pseudoscience right from the beginning. Speculation is out of any other science (as if it was impossible to speculate in science) And right next to the waste basket. But the Forum will not change policy. I suppose it is made on purpose because the Internet has plenty of rubbish and they want to differentiate. On the other side, many interesting discussions lie under the speculation forum. Dale may get used to its bad taste.

Maybe, but it is a solution to poverty, hunger, misery. 3 things that surely bring unhappiness.

No. A rhetorical question is a figure of speech in the form of a question posed for its persuasive effect without the expectation of a reply You expected a reply.
