  1. It was most probably related to magic or witchcraft. I am not sure it was by chance, it may also be the fruit of (early) research.
  2. My understanding is that SOL is the maximum speed at which information can be received. This interpretation makes SOL both a maximum and a relative. What did you wrote there? I am afraid this might be misunderstood.
  3. That is because light speed is a maximum. The question was why is there a maximum at all. I tried to answer that question. After answering that question, one could raise the question why does this maximum correspond to light speed.
  4. Infinite speed. Not especially infinite speed light propagation. I thought it was trivial for v=infinite you have δt=0, the interval of time between 2 positions is null.
  5. But if one consider that velocity has no limit that becomes untrue. For infinite velocity, a particle can be at 2 places at the same moment.
  6. More than that. If a single particle can be at different points of space at the same instant it poses a question about what "is" that make a particle unique. What is the thing that makes a particle different from another? It is that a particle occupies a space at a certain instant. If a particle occupies 2 different places at the same time, it is not unique anymore. It gets then the property of ubiquity.
  7. There are indeed scientists that suspect that in reality Neanderthals never properly "go extinct" but rather merged with modern humans. And I have encountered people who look very much with this sympathetic fellow.
  8. If I can reach infinite velocity, time to go from one point to another is null.
  9. There is a logical explanation. If there were no limit, a same object could be at 2 different places at the same time. That would be another universe.
  10. The dating does not correspond. From Wiki, the Neanderthals were extincted long before any sign of early civilization.
  11. I don't understand. If we replace the analogy with this one: you have a flashlight that turns from red to green every second. Two flashlights. You send one of flashlights at the edge of the universe. When you observe your flashlight red, you know the other is green, and vice-versa. So you make the experiment and at some instant you observe the flashlight indeed red. You know the other one is green. But even if you smash the light while being red, does that mean the other flashlight will stop flashing from one colour to the other? and stay on green? Or that the other light will "feel being smashed" ? As if they were one single object?
  12. We see this in history. Antiquity was more advanced than the next 1500 years. Then Renaissance came, antiquity rediscovered and civilization back on the road. I suggest that these kind of effects have also taken place in prehistory throughout humanity. Think of today's Talibans destroying ancient monuments they are incapable of creating. Think of iconoclasts, think even about early christians destroying antique sculptures. It has happen numerous times in recorded historical times. Why not earlier in unrecorded times?
  13. But the meter you use to measure your height would be squeezed by the same amount. So you would measure absolutely nothing.
  14. Is that accurate? (the bold part in the above)
  15. I suggest that the progression of humanity from the stone age to agriculture, sedentarization, civilization until modern times is not something that looks like a smooth curve but looks like a stock exchange graph. With up and downs. With humanity going forth and back, up and down.
  16. 1.If a civilization build something it means the civilization has the means to do it. So yes they had tools to make it. 2.There is no mystery. There is simply a lack of logical explanation 3. When you put on the balance on the left side "hunters & gatherers" and on the right side Gobekli Tepe, you know something is wrong and the mystery arises. 4. Since Gobekli Tepe is a strong evidence, replace the "hunters & gatherers" with "civilized people" and the mystery vanishes. 5. Why have we no (other) clue of this "civilization"? There are hundreds of possible explanations, between them there is war & extermination, and also maybe there are other clues that we haven't found yet, and also maybe this "civilization" has continued somewhere else and maybe ...(to be continued). So maybe Gobekli Tepe is a fact that must make us review the concept of linear evolution of humanity. Maybe we were hunters here , then civilized there, then hunters there, then civilized again, then gatherers, etc. with each time maybe (maybe not) an inch of development. Like in Greek Antiquity civilization was much more developed than in the middle ages. Why is it buried? 1. If it was not buried it would not have last that many years. So maybe they were in the past hundreds of Gobekli Tepe but all were destroyed except the one that was buried. IOW it may be an incident (like a crazy monarch who ordered the temples to be buried for any peculiar reason) 2. It may be a result of a war, where the hate (and the fear) is so great that the conqueror destroys and buries everything in order to make humanity even forget the name of the civilization. Like the Romans tried to do destroying Carthage. 3. It may be a stratagem to hide the sacred place to the conqueror. In this case the temples should be intact under the soil. 4. I cannot find a fourth reason although I am sure there must be some. Like the rise of a new religion for example.
  17. While people is killing people, Matt has found humanity's ultimate goal. But where is Matt?
  18. Why? Because Spacetime looks like being a "single entity". When time slows down, length contracts. For my simple mind who likes simplicity, it means the upper part of the equation is changed by the same amount as the down part. You have velocity v=d/t. When d decreases, t decreases also. Leaving v unchanged. It happens because v is the "thing". d and t are parts of v. An analogy would be a marshmallow. If you squeeze it in one direction, it will expand in the other. Now, why does it happen when v reaches the value of c, I don't know. The other thing that trouble me very much is that v, by definition, is a relative value. No matter its value.
  19. Oh you made a "mountza" It is an insult to a Greek. Maybe he wanted to say "I'll shoot you"?
  20. String nothing compares to you Because you like the best Or maybe you are.
  21. I remember an interview of Bryan Ferry when singer of the Roxy Music band. He was asked why do you always put half naked girls on the covers of your albums, and Bryan to tell "because it multiplies the sales by a factor of ten". Other parelthondology that maybe you don't know, Nescio And "the biggest rock star you've never heard of", a irreducible who began his carer before you and me were born and is still here today. The only one song I can hear from him. Johnny is still able to fill an entire stadium. Respect. (note that the lyrics are important, again) Here below Why no more than 2 youtube??
  22. After reading from here and there I realized the discovery is from 1992. The new dating is the new thing: is indicates it is not a Cro-magnon structure but a Neanderthal.
  23. The grand masters And the reason of my quest on this Forum
