  1. Don't worry, all hope is not lost if you end up at a state university. A lot of schools don't even have a neuroscience program, for undergrads anyway. For any science field you'll likely be doing some graduate work, so if you do well in undergrad, you can get yourself into a good graduate program.
  2. :haha: :haha: edit: i need to put a new laughing face, that one looks evil.
  3. What time is it aired? Is it scheduled yet or is it your hopes that it will be..
  4. What about michelson and morley's work with ether?
  5. Have your writings scientifically disproven currently held theories [havn't read the whole thing yet]? The burden of proof lays with the objector, as the mainstream case is sufficiently documented and accessable. If I were so inclined to point to respected peer-reviewed articles on some controversial subjects at-hand, would this be sufficient evidence? Has not the scientific method brought us thus far? By what reasoning are we to argue, if the accepted method does not produce acceptable conclusions? Or am I to build a backyard physics lab..
  6. gee, i must be psychic.
  7. hrm, I fear this thread is going to deteriorate into unintelligable name-calling. discuss intelligently, please.
  8. During the decade of the 90’s, USF was #1 in the nation with the highest percentage of candidates with advanced degrees passing all parts of the CPA exam taken. This year USF students had the highest score on the CPA exam. USF is one of the top 60 public research universities in the country. USF will receive $40.2 million this year -- the largest share from a record $99 million in federal research money to Florida’s public universities -- for studies ranging from cancer detection to disaster management. USF is one of the nation's top centers in conducting research aimed at new treatments for Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, and Huntington's diseases. It has pioneered the concept of brain repair -- placing cells in the brain to help fix the damage of disease or injury. USF is the only university that has been designated as one of the five National Centers for Water Treatment Technologies in the country. These centers are sponsored by the National Water Research Institute (NWRI) and the U.S. Dept. of Interior’s Bureau of Reclamation. The University of South Florida is the second largest university in the southeast and among the top 20 largest in the nation. The Carnegie Foundation ranks USF for its research in the top national classification. Our researchers generate more than $207 million annually in sponsored research contracts and grants, specializing in fields such as oceanography, genetics, neurology, aging and public health, alternative fuels, and crisis intervention. BOW TO MY INFINITELY SUPERIOR SCHOOL
  9. second place is the first loser.
  10. There was a problem set in trig last semester that required us to use the inverse sine function to find an angle, then find the other angle using the angle provided by inverse sin.
  11. Ah, that would be why. I suppose its left to the student to calculate other solutions.
  12. Yes BUT that is not the only solution, 135 degrees would also be a solution [remember the unit circle], although I believe most calcs only give one solution.
  13. Haha, I don't know. Call up a local jeweler and see what they can do
  14. try searching google for "Black Dermographism"
  15. "A persons perspiration contains varying percentages of chlorides and sometimes sulphides that when combined with the molecules of silver and copper that are usually present in gold alloys, will cause the formation of dark-hued salts such as silver chloride or copper sulphate and mark the finger." taken from here . i'm looking for more, don't know off the top of my head
  16. OMG, its faf visiting jurassic park!
  17. ok quick question: in your example you gave the equation 2t^2. do you mean 2(t^2) or (2t)^2? if you meant the first equation [which i'm assuming you did] wouldn't your average velocity be 200/10 or 20... but what would the derivative of (2t)^2 be? EDIT: eh, disregard that. (2t)^2 => 4t^2 which would be 8t
  18. France surrenders!
  19. There's always something to be learned; whether it be mating patterns, eating habits, vocalizations... ...though how much of this is learned by experience with a mother. Perhaps a mammoth raised by elephants would behave more like an elephant, than an ancient mammoth.
  20. What exactly does instantaneous velocity mean?
  21. Oh, and populating an island with man-eating dinosaurs is a bad idea too
  22. Do you guys think bringing back extinct species is a good idea, or bad idea. Personally, I think its a good idea, as long as its limited and controlled. I can't say that I'm for repopulating africa with extinct species. There's a reason they went extinct, and bringing them back could disrupt the ecosystem. As long as we're not reviving some form of ultra immune deadly bacteria, i'm all for it.
  23. Haha, I'm sure its loaded with all kinds of drugs.
  24. Stadium looks too big, the bears don't have that many fans.
