  7. he went into AOL/AIM chatrooms and linked the site with the caption something like "NUDE PICS XXX". I bet the people who clicked were a bit disappointed.
  8. Ahh. Must have been one of Jinx's spam links He made it his personal mission to spam the site everywhere, probably for the negative attention. He always said "science forums created by yale scientists" or something of that nature. Then one day he bombed my mailbox and I reported his IP to his ISP. that was the last I saw of jinx. See that "Most ever online was 72 users"? That was from him.
  9. You guys know each other or something?
  10. Very interesting because my brother was ALWAYS the same way as a child. I can remember one specific instance where he fell off his bicycle and gashed open his arm. He got up, picked up his bike and started to ride again. Apparently he didn't realize how bad the wound was. As soon as I told him (and he noticed the blood dripping everywhere) he burst into tears and fell on the ground holding his arm in a protective position. Its kind of like a running joke between him and I; he's never hurt until he sees the wound.
  11. Eh, what format is .ps?
  12. Do you have a link to the paper from the Naval Research Labs?
  13. Three-dimensional tubes of living tissue have been printed using modified desktop printers filled with suspensions of cells instead of ink. The work is a first step towards printing complex tissues or even entire organs. The printers are adapted by washing out the ink cartridges and refilling them with suspensions of, say, cells. The software that controls the viscosity, electrical resistances and temperature of the printing fluids is reprogrammed and the feed systems altered. Full story here.
  14. oh. i had like...elementary school education in my head. or something
  15. lol, education!?!?!? For what??
  16. Actually, I don't know. Articles are really sort of useless. If we're going to have them, are there any objections to just making an articles forum...and linking the most recent articles in a sidebar on the mainpage? That way i don't have to fiddle with implementing anything new, you guys don't have to mess with the whole article submission messup, you can easily include images, vbCode, etc... oh, and keep the thread rating on. Advantages over current article system: Easier submission Searchable vbcode, images linked on main page Disadvantages: its a forum, like everything else
  17. I was just looking at that earlier today, trying to see how to make it more ..... appealing. I'll probably link the most recent articles on a sidebar, and fix up some of the text fields in there. Wait like 2 days before you guys submit any, I'm going ot make some changes to the submission system
  18. According to NewScientist, NASA is developing a fusion drive that theoretically can provide 300 times the thrust of any chemical rocket engine, while only using a fraction of its fuel mass. If successful, the new engine could cut the travel time to Mars from 6 months to nearly 6 weeks. NASA engineers plan to use microwaves to heat the plasma to 600 million kelvin, which would generate charged alpha particles, helium nuclei. A magnetic nozzle would then channel these particles and use them for thrust. You can find the full article here.
  19. I don't understand, does he not feel the pain? Or is it because in his culture, that isn't considered pain...
  20. (That was more or less for when faf arrives)
  21. I'm sure this will spark debate, so this is just a reminder to be nice. This includes you, faf You can post you disagree, and explain why, but personal insults are not necesary. Carry on.
  22. Scientists in China claim to have found fossil remains of a dinosaur called a "Microraptor" that likely glided from place to place. "As far as I'm concerned, these are authentic fossils. They've presented extra information to go over that hurdle," said Richard Prum, a University of Kansas bird evolution expert and author of a companion piece in Nature." These fossils could help refine the theory of how dinosaurs transitioned to birds. You can find the story here.
  23. Never!~@!
