  1. Awhile back my friend showed me something I could do in my microwave to produce artificial "ball lightning". I'm not sure thats what this is, but its pretty neat. Anyhow, I captured the thing on video. I modified the original experiment by putting a jar over the toothpick in order to capture the ball lightning so its lifespan is longer (and because i was afraid of what it was doing to the microwave). Without the jar, the ball is instantly sucked into the vent and disappears with a crackling sound. I only let it run for maybe 2 or 3 seconds because it heats the jar extremely quickly. I don't want to have to deal with shattered glass in the microwave. Anyhow, heres a theory behind it: "Before the plasma ball forms there is a bright flash at the flame. Probably the electromagnetic field induce arc-light at the carbonized wick producing large number of electrons and ions. These particles together with the ionized particles of the flame forms a cloud that conducts electricity. The microwave can create eddy current (?) in this cloud. This current could prevent the recombination of the ions and electrons. The size of the balls is cca. 3cm that is in good agreement with the theory of P. Kapitza." Plasmoid in my microwave (WMV Format, 1.9MB) Plasmoid (MPEG-1 format, 6.9MB) I recommend you right click and "Save Target As" ...as opposed to watching in your browser. That way it will run smoother and won't eat bandwidth. If anyone has a deathly slow modem and would rather see images, I can try and capture some images from the video, just let me know.
  2. he uses it on anyone who has a differing opinion. I've seen all the websites claiming they were "fake". No striking evidence that can't be explained. Look up some sites that refute the "false landings" claim...some good info.
  3. Stop being so quick to pass judgement. Basically he's showing the similarities of the AIDS virus and a synthetic virus called "C-Virus". He provides journal references, in case you doubt what you're seeing. But you're right, because they look the same doesn't mean they are the same. It is an interesting thought though. This is very interesting, especially all of the immunological research being conducted by the department of defense around that time. Check out http://www.bhc.edu/eastcampus/leeb/aids/biow8.html
  4. Here's an interesting transcript of a DOD hearing in 1969. DEPARTMENT OF DEFENSE APPROPRIATIONS FOR 1970 United States Senate Library HEARINGS before a SUBCOMMITTEE OF THE COMMITTEE ON APPROPRIATIONS HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES Ninety-First Congress First Session Subcommittee on Department of Defense George H. Mahon, Texas, Chairman Robert L.F. Sikes, Florida, Glenard P. Lipscomb, California Jamie D. Whitten, Mississippi William E. Minshall, Ohio George W. Andrews, Alabama, John J. Rhodes, Arizona Daniel J. Flood, Pennsylvania Glenn R. Davis, Wisconsin John M. Slack, West Virginia, Joseph P. Addabbo, New York Frank E. Evans, Colorado Temporarily assigned H.B. 15090 PART 5 RESEARCH, DEVELOPMENT, TEST, AND EVALUATION Department of the Army Statement of Director, Advanced Research Project Agency Statement of Director, Defense Research and Engineering __________ Printed for the use of the Committee on Appropriations U.S. GOVERNMENT PRINTING OFFICE WASHINGTON : 1969 UNITED STATES SENATE LIBRARY 129 TUESDAY, JULY 1, 1969 SYNTHETIC BIOLOGICAL AGENTS There are two things about the biological agent field I would like to mention. One is the possibility of technological surprise. Molecular biology is a field that is advancing very rapidly and eminent biologists believe that within a period of 5 to 10 years it would be possible to produce a synthetic biological agent, an agent that does not naturally exist and for which no natural immunity could have been acquired. MR. SIKES. Are we doing any work in that field? DR. MACARTHUR. We are not. MR. SIKES. Why not? Lack of money or lack of interest? DR. MACARTHUR. Certainly not lack of interest. MR. SIKES. Would you provide for our records information on what would be required, what the advantages of such a program would be. The time and the cost involved? DR. MACARTHUR. We will be very happy to. The information follows: The dramatic progress being made in the field of molecular biology led us to investigate the relevance of this field of science to biological warfare. A small group of experts considered this matter and provided the following observations: 1. All biological agents up to the present time are representatives of naturally occurring disease, and are thus known by scientists throughout the world. They are easily available to qualified scientists for research, either for offensive or defensive purposes. 2. Within the next 5 to 10 years, it would probably be possible to make a new infective microorganism which could differ in certain important aspects from any known disease-causing organisms. Most important of these is that it might be refractory to the immunological and therapeutic processes upon when we depend to maintain our relative freedom from infectious disease. 3. A research program to explore the feasibility of this could be completed in approximately 5 years at a total cost of $10 million. 4. It would be very difficult to establish such a program. Molecular biology is a relatively new science. There are not many highly competent scientists in the field., almost all are in university laboratories, and they are generally adequately supported from sources other than DOD. However, it was considered possible to initiate an adequate program through the National Academy of sciences - National Research Council (NAS-NRC, and tentative plans were made to initiate the program. However decreasing funds in CB, growing criticism of the CB program, and our reluctance to involve the NAS NRC in such a controversial endeavor have led us to postpone it for the past 2 years. It is a highly controversial issue and there are many who believe such research should not be undertaken lest it lead to yet another method of massive killing of large populations. On the other hand, without the sure scientific knowledge that such a weapon is possible, and an understanding of the ways it could be done. there is little that can be done to devise defensive measures. Should an enemy develop it there is little doubt that this is an important area of potential military technological inferiority in which there is no adequate research program."
  5. Eh, lol. HTLV-III was an early name for HIV. An uh, yea, they're supposed to be a sequence. Except the bottom photo is different from the top two photos, which were taken 10 years earlier of a man-made virus. 6. http://www.boydgraves.com/news/112802.html'>http://www.boydgraves.com/news/112802.html U.S. FORCED TO ALLOW LAWSUIT ON 'LAB BIRTH OF AIDS' Washington, DC - In a November 20, 2002 letter from the Office of the Secretary of the United States Department of Health and Human Services, AIDS ORIGIN researcher, Boyd E. Graves, J.D. has been given sixty days to file suit in the U.S. federal court of his choosing. "The people have forced the right to sue the United States over their "creation", "production" and "proliferation" of HIV/AIDS through the secret, federal virus development program, the U.S. Special (AIDS) Virus program (1948 - 1978)." said Graves. "The yearly progress reports of the secret program provide the irrefutable narrative proof of the linkage of experiment to the flowchart, "research logic" of the African Holocaust. This best explains how Black people account for 13% of the population and 50% of all new AIDS cases." Graves, a civil rights lawyer and decorated US Navy veteran, filed a similar complaint with Ohio's federal courts in 1998. After his 33 month legal battle and an appeal to the US Supreme Court in 2001, Graves' lawsuit finally prompted Congress to request an investigation into the missing appropriations of the secret federal virus development program Special Virus through the US General Accounting Office. The US government's official report was made public following the terrorist attacks of September 11th and was highly criticized as a 'total white-wash' by many independent investigators, including Professor Robert Lee and Harvard's Dr. Leonard G. Horowitz. Graves and his supporters say they are confident the evidence of the laboratory birth of AIDS is irrefutable. "We can show through the progress reports of the secret program, that the original name of HIV was ESP-1 virus, developed in accordance with the phases of the flowchart." Graves said. "The United States purposefully and intentionally, complemented the "small pox" vaccine that went to Africa and the "Hepatitis B" vaccine that was given to homosexuals that the United States recruited for that purpose." Graves said he is hopeful people support his efforts by downloading the 1971 flow chart document from his website http://www.boydgraves.com and by writing to elected and appointed health officials. "We have found the well-spring of the genesis of AIDS," said Graves. "It is our nation state, it is us."
  7. ^^ uranium!
  8. But how has heroin or anthrax affecting your life in general? Didn't do anything to mine. Pick something that has a major, noticable impact on society or environment. Cigarette smoke or something..major affect on society.

    hahaha

Someone's proof that photons have mass: "Light can be distorted by gravitation. Gravitation is mass based. Therefore light has mass." thought i'd share.

  11. "Physicist Fotini Markopoulou Kalamara has developed a way to connect relativity with quantum theory--while making sure that cause still precedes effect" Basically they're developing an alternative to string theory. They call it "Loop Quantum Gravity". "In LQG, reality is built of loops that interact and combine to form so-called spin networks--first envisioned by Roger Penrose in 1960s." "Each spin netowrk resembles a snapshot, a frozen moment in the universe. Off paper, the spin networks evolve and change based on simple mathematical rules and become bigger and more complex,l eventually developing into the large-scale space we inhabit." I'm not sure how much I can quote from scientific american without getting in trouble Anyone heard of this? Is this anything to keep an eye on? You can find the article in the December 2002 edition of Scientific American on page 40.
  12. There's a short article in the latest issue of scientific american about a research team that removed molars from six-month old pigs and disolved them. Then they placed in scaffolding and placed into rats' abdomens to grow. In third weeks, two-millimeter molar crowns emerged complete with pulp chambers, root tips, layers of dentin and enamel. Pretty cool if you ask me. Maybe one day this will replace dentures
  13. Imagine us traveling infinitly forward with the equation y=x. Now, say we start traveling through space faster and faster. This means our equation has to change to say x=1/2y. The faster we travel through space, the slower we travel through time. "What exists around x=y? What lies not on our line?" Beats me :l
  14. I'd like to see the writings that predict all these things. Hindsight always has 20/20. I mean, looking back we can make the connections. But looking forward, would we be able to? If not, then they are not significant predictions.

    Atrocious

"49 percent cannot find New York 11 percent cannot find the United States " ok thats just sad.
  16. Says they're going to run tests. I wonder how long before we see any results..
  17. LOL. I told my mom about the findings tonight as she sipped her glass of wine.
  18. "Lets assume I have a useless internal organ in me that only me and my brother's have. It does not effect anything else about my body. It is simply and extra structure." My statement was only valid with non-functional, intermediate structures.
  19. A study published in the British Journal of Cancer concludes that a woman's risk of breast cancer increases by 7% for every 10 grams of alcohol consumed daily. Interestingly, smoking had no effect on raising the risk of developing the disease. The study included 150,000 women around the world, and is the largest study ever done on women's smoking and drinking behavior. 21. Ami, are we supposed to be discussing whether or not this would end war, or whether or not males could be eliminated...or both ??
  22. I like a pretty broad spectrum of music, as long as its not synthesized music. If its performed by a band/orchestra/soloist, theres a chance i'll like it. Rap, on the other hand, I cannot stand. What I listen to depends on the mood i'm in. If I'm in skate mode, I listen to alot of hendrix, zepplin, van halen, and older ozzy stuff. If I just want some modern music, I'll listen to red hot chili peppers, jimmy eat world, weezer, sublime etc.. Classical is one of my favorites. Mozart and Beethoven remind me that their still may yet be hope for mankind. Rap and country are pretty much the only catagories that I can't stand. Rap especially [no offense to any rappers (deep)].
  23. "and evolution eliminates useless adaptions" You're right, I was wrong. My Anthropology professor told me in a direct answer that this is true. I was wrong, but it doesn't weaken my argument. "I don't even have time right now to go through it all." When does asexual reproduction become a disadvantage? Variance is not an evolutionary advantage in and of itself. Variance brings about changes that can have evolutionary advantages. Lets assume I have a useless internal organ in me that only me and my brother's have. It does not effect anything else about my body. It is simply and extra structure. Are you telling me that this variance would be an advantage? Would we have more offspring because of this? No, speaking in terms of natural selection, I have the same advantage as Joe sitting next to me sitting here in the computer science lab; so as-long as this structure has no effect on me. Once it has an effect, there is a possibility for advantage or disadvantage, but in its useless stage it is neither advantageous or disadvantageous. So in intermediate stages, variance cannot be considered an evolutionary advantage. Right? I'm not trying to say I'm right and so-and-so is wrong. I'm just searching for answers.
  24. I don't know how you women would cope without us . In all honestly, I dont' really know enough about psychology to answer with anything worthwhile (though I took 2 semesters, it was basically a nap time for me). Obviously social roles would have to be re-arranged, and how this would effect women psychologically is uncertain. Perhaps women could take the role of men. Maybe our roles aren't as necessary as we think. I mean, pretty much all our sociological functions have their basis in evolutionary needs. The bigger, stronger males protect, and the females make the nest. While these are stereotypical roles, we see this pattern often in nature. Perhaps women have some hard-coded psychological need for a male presence. While this is not apparent in all cases [homosexuals], it is still a possibility. If they don't, an all-female society could likely replace the role of males, keeping only our sperm for reproduction. All that to say I don't know. It might be interesting to check into some research done on social structures [if there are any] where women play a dominant role, and men a submissive role.
  25. Haha, yea. But don't worry, I don't think the US has any plans to reinstate the draft any time soon, even though war is likely.
