  1. Sorry I just now got to this thread. I'll see if I can get the button set up.
  2. Congress chose not to renew it. Bush was all for it.
  3. Phi, can you post a link for that?
  4. Indeed, Kerry does deserve respect for what he did. It was one delegate at the RNC handing out the bandaids, and they were quickly and promptly repromanded. Kerry's service also earned an applause at the RNC. The reason this is becoming a big issue is because Kerry has made it an issue. Kerry is the one emphasizing his war record. Kerry is the one who keeps saying, "When I served in Vietnam, " etc. Do you expect he should able to say whatever he wants regardless of whether or not it's true and not be questioned on it? Some people do cross the line when questioning his service record, I agree. If he's lying about it, that's an important issue because he is supposed to lead our country. Could you provide a source for both of those accusations? Wasn't the AWOL thing cleared up? Care to provide support? Bush praises Kerry's service. So joining the Air National Guard is not serving your country? As to the OP, I agree. Kerry deserves respect.
  5. I kept waiting for some sort of further twist, because I called that a mile away. Maybe something like: "Psych!!!!! It's really a timewarp wormhole that ripped through the fabric of space which caused a 19th century villiage to end up in the 21st century, caused by aliens who just tried to invade during Signs but failed because of H2O which their highly advanced species had no protection against! PSYCH AGAIN, it was all a dream and it's really a 19th century village!! PSYCH!! It was really just THE MATRIX!" Well, something like that.

lol capn, thats awesome. Palebluehuh, no I don't live on campus, do you? I don't want to miss too much class, they'll make us make it up at the end of the semester or something, and that would vex me greatly
  7. I do honestly wonder what they were thinking when creating Jar Jar. Didn't the production team realize he was a giant flop? I was annoyed with him the instant he spoke.
  8. Why couldn't they have used the standard rudder system?
  9. Catagory 5
  10. I'm all set to try this to make one of these bad boys. I just have to find somewhere to buy potassium nitrate.
  11. I hope that anyone does not feel that I am making a connection between any of the events listed in my post. I just feel that airing emotionally charged material the night before an election could have devistating results on a general election (in either direction, depending on the material). Any sort of emotional portrayal of one candidate over the other seems a bit unfair. And while the actual events may have been factual in the TV show I presented, somewhat like F911, the emotions which are stirred by the events because of the manner in which they're shown would assuradly cause at least some voters to swing on emotion alone. I don't know if that's fair play. Manipulation of the mob is an easy thing, which is why we are a federal republic, not a democracy.
  12. How safe is it for someone who is basically clueless building rocket motors? Any chance of it blowing my face off somehow...also, where did you get the directions and chemicals?
  13. What about airing: An hour of 9/11 clips (planes crashing, suicide jumpers, towers collapsing, etc.) Followed by GW's speech. Followed by images of those beaten, raped, and tortured by Saddam. Followed by Kerry saying he is an anti-war candidate.

  15. What a shame. Hopefully there is at least some of the collectors that haven't been exposed to the desert.

I like the idea of a rating system in theory, especially when combined with the ability to filter by rating. Unfortunately, when we implemented a universal reputation system, it was abused very quickly. Members who didn't like each other would abuse the system, and then moderators and admins would have to get involved and sort out who deserved what. There was just no way to practically implement it. I've thought about some sort of a controlled number of points floating around or meta-moderating system like slashdot. The reason slashdot is so effective is because of the large user-base willing to participate in meta-moderation as well as being, on the whole, dedicated to giving rewards where they are due. If anyone has any suggestions on how a point or ranking system could be successfully implemented, feel free to post it here.
  18. I thought sayo had red hair for some reason. or is that not really him and I'm missing out on an inside joke ;P

That first post was probably one of the more incomprehensible things I've read.
  20. I do have respect for the dead. Could you point to a post in which I disrespected the dead so I can clarify?
  21. r1dermon, thats awesome. Do you have any pictures or diagrams? How much did it cost total? I want to build my own rocket motor and fly it on a rocket I've already built. My last rocket went about 2,000 ft. on 15lbs of thrust at 2.7secs. I bought the single use motor for around $16.00 How much did your motor cost in all, including parts/chemicals?
  22. I don't think that I need to make argument in my defense. Clearly I'm the only one digging up death counts, and so I should be the most aware. You can't demonstrate that I'm pretending they never happened. I'm the one encouraging you to look up death counts. If anyone is pretending it was you pretending that 500,000 of Iraqi's were "mass murdered".
  23. Seems like it's more convenient for people like you who would like to believe Iraqi's are being slain by the hundreds of thousands so that you can continue comparing Bush to Hitler and Saddam. No, actually it's central to the argument. Remember, we were arguing about who is more evil: Bush or Saddam. To quote you: "COMMIT MASS MURDER ON 500,000 CIVILIANS!" How can you make an accurate judgement when you don't even understand your own sources. What's to say the rest of the leftist propaganda you spill isn't just misinterpretations, misunderstandings, and lots of wishful thinking. 500,000 civilians were not mass murdered.

That scale really needs revamping :\ It's too faf-esque
  25. Apologies. I misread what you were stating. As far as I know, the U.S. doesn't do civilian body counts. “We don’t do body counts” -General Tommy Franks, US Central Command Our sources include public domain newsgathering agencies with web access. Seems like a bit of a side issue, I never said they did get along. However, didn't Iraq's ambassador offer asylum to bin laden and his lieutenants back in 1999? I assume you're talking about Saddam's incentive to attack the US. Probably has something to do with the fact that we're his sworn enemy. My mistake, he sought uranium, not the weapons-grade isotope. "COMMIT MASS MURDER ON 500,000 CIVILIANS!" No, the U.N. never said 500,000 deaths. They said 500,000 casualties, which are not deaths. "The total includes some 100,000 expected to be injured as a direct result of combat and a further 400,000 wounded as an indirect result of the devastation, according to estimates prepared by the World Health Organization, the document said."
