Good point sayo, but I was just stating that I believe both sides are already clearly represented in the mainstream news media. That doesn't mean each viewer is getting balanced news though.

"On the day George W. Bush was inaugurated, tens of thousands of Americans poured into the streets of DC in one last attempt to claim what had been taken from them...No President had ever witnessed such a thing on his inauguration day." < FALSE "The plan to have Bush get out of the limo for the traditional walk to the White House was scrapped." < FALSE ""It turns out that the White House approved planes to pick up the bin Ladens and numerous other Saudis." < FALSE "out of the 535 members of Congress, only one had an enlisted son in Iraq." < FALSE Indeed, and Michael Moore implies a lot more than he says. Much of F9/11 was implications, with statements such as "perhaps" and "maybe". The problem is that often times what he is implying is blatantly wrong, but he can't be nailed for it because he did not directly state it. You're right though, he's playing a politicians game on that one. Just because Republicans happen to be right most of the time doesn't mean Fox news is biased [jk about that]. Don't you think Fox is balanced out by the other major liberal networks?

I haven't seen anyone respond to the criticisms of Moore put forth yet. Moore is a documented liar [as in intentionally presenting a false statement as truth (a concept which is apparently beyond his comprehension, judging by his appearance with O'Reilly at the DNC)]. I don't know how universal the support for Moore by the left is, but I am somewhat disheartened by the amount of apparent support he receives from armchair liberals. When I walked out of the theater (sporting my blatantly republican shirt ), I was horrified at how many democrats thought God had just handed down the 10 commandments.

I see what you're saying Thales, and I've had the same thoughts before. All of your thoughts and ideas are simply modifications to existing ones. For example, if we think of something unique, a giant green spacemonkey for example, it can be broken down into constituents which we have observed. We know the concept of giantism, we've seen the color green, and we know what monkeys are. If you take Leonardo's ideas, they are unique in that the world has never seen that set of concepts strung together in a coherent fashion, but they can be reduced to simpler elements which Leonardo or others had observed before.

If puppy was thrown from 30 feet high and 40 feet away would it splat or bounce?

If the gun is vertically it's a different story, because you've added acceleration other than gravity to the system. -

He said "drop one straight down". Phi, if the guns fired perfectly horizontal and simultaneously, they will all hit the ground at the same time. The one with more charge will have faster horizontal motion, but the vertical motion of all the bullets is dictated by gravity alone [as long as the guns are fired horizontally]. See jordan's post for more details -
I use firefox; it's godlike. Twas only a few months ago I was using plain old MSIE. Then I started getting crap that would reset my homepage to porn sites and search engines, and redirect me all over the place. I switched to avant browser (MSIE+ essentially). It worked well, but it was still based on IE. It blocked popups, but not all of them. The stinking redirects and homepage changers still were infesting me. Then I made the decision to convert to firefox. I've since forgot what popups are. I was on my girlfriend's machine the other day and a strange thing appeared on my screen. It seemed to be some sort of advertisement. I was shocked. SWITCH TO FIREFOX. The only complaint I have is that it loads images a little bit slower than IE. But thats probably because my machine is mad old.

At first it seems counter-intuitive, but it's not really. Each acceleration is independent. Thus, if you drop a bullet from the height of the barrel at the same instant you fire the gun, both bullets will still hit the ground simultaneously. (this is assuming the bullet produces no lift). A better example is to roll a moving ball off a ledge while simultaneously dropping another ball from the same height. I'm inclined to say the puppy would bounce -

Because he's an admin.

No worries. It was probably an admin who didn't want you on his server for whatever reason. Just join another one. It most likely wasn't a 'hack'.

However you spell it regularly. An extra "u" here and there never hurt anyone (even though it's wrong )

Jeb Bush was not governor of the state of Florida when the decision was made.

The Florida Legislature called for the felon purge in 1998. Please, fox called florida for gore and was the last to retract it. They beat the other networks in calling it for bush by a whole four minutes.
-
The felon purge actually took place before the election. The Palm Beach post reported that 1,100 people's votes had been wrongly discarded because of the purge. Many Florida officials knew that there had been an overpurge, and so 20 florida counties ignored the purge list altogether. This resulted in an estimated 5,600 illegal votes cast by convicted felons. (http://www.manhattan-institute.org/final_dissent.pdf) Considering felons vote 69% democratic (http://www.asanet.org/), and the American Sociological Association concluded that "If felons could have voted, national election outcomes would have been different", the purge, if anything, actually worked in favor of Gore. Was it wrong that those people were robbed of their vote? Yes. Was it wrong that convited felons were able to vote? Yes. Did it help Bush win? No, it probably narrowed the margin.

Moore misleads throughout the film. Let's not forget about him resizing and cropping headlines on newspapers: http://tvh.rjwest.com/archives/005307.html About election recounts: "DBT's computers had matched these people with felons, though in dozens of cases they did not share the same name, birthdate, gender or race...[A] review of state records, internal e-mails of DBT employees and testimony before the civil rights commission and an elections task force showed no evidence that minorities were specifically targeted. Records show that DBT told the state it would not use race as a criterion to identify felons. The list itself bears that out: More than 1,000 voters were matched with felons though they were of different races." Yes, actually Nixon did, to the tune of 60,000. No it wasn't. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/americas/1127937.stm Moore implies that Bush didn't read it, he has no evidence for this. The briefing states: "We have not been able to corroborate some of the more sensational threat reporting such as that from a [deleted text] service in 1998 saying that Bin Laden wanted to hijack a U.S. aircraft to gain the release of "Blind Shaykh" ‘Umar’ Abd aI-Rahman and other U.S.-held extremists. Nevertheless, FBI information since that time indicates patterns of suspicious activity in this country consistent with preparations for hijackings or other types of attacks, including recent surveillance of federal buildings in New York." Actually, Richard Clarke approved them, the man Moore would later interview. The 9/11 commission concluded this had no adverse affects on 9/11 investigations. It also concluded that Clarke was the highest-ranking official to approve the flights. Michael Moore lied [suprise suprise] According to the 9/11 report: "each of the flights we have studied was investigated by the FBI and dealt with in a professional manner prior to its departure." Or perhaps it is mandated by Federal Law you douche (HIPPA, enacted in 2003). Source for these: fifty-nine deceits in f911 I'll probably get bashed for using that as a source, but I'd like to see some earnest responses in defense of MM.

It was an oversight really, but I'm not likely to change it. When I changed the avatar size limits I didn't apply it to moderators and admins.
-
here's the deal: I switched the limit recently (maybe a month and a half to two months ago). Those who have had their icon since before the switch get to keep them. If you change your avatar now, you'll have the new limits. Icons out of the gallery are also immune to limits. Sorry for the confusion.

good luck to you all, i know how stressful it can be waiting on exam scores that will make or break you.

As soon as we get an eggdrop bot I'll add a "who's chatting" list at the bottom of the forum home page.

Photons do not have any mass and they feel the effect of gravity. Also, if gravitation is energy like you state, what is the source of this energy? If we absorb this gravitational energy as you state, then why do we even bother with power plants? We could just use gravity.
