  1. Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon says he is no longer bound by promise to Washington that he would not target Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat.
  2. http://apnews.myway.com/article/20040423/D824KL5G0.html He was a better man than I.
  3. Like AntiMagicMan said, some scientists just collect things.
  4. Summer's almost here and I'll have a bit more time to work on this project. I need someone who is really good with color schemes. Also I need someone who is good with webpage layouts and/or graphics. I can fumble my way around photoshop, but I have no eye for artwork (as demonstrated by the sexy logo this site flies under). I had a short run at designing some sort of preliminary header the other day [just for something to work with], but I wasn't really content with the results. The colors look sucky to me. Anyhow, PM me or email me if you're still willing to help when you can! I'll set up a private forum so we can all communicate.
  5. Indeed, you can watch the movie of it online for free as well: http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/nova/elegant/ its VERY interesting and helpful, although simplified and condensed vastly from the book.
  6. Maybe for a small period of time. There are creatures at the bottom of the ocean that can survive around sulfur vents. These "steal" chemical energy from the environment. They would have no problem without the sun. The rest of us are out of luck.
  7. No. They all require energy, they just have different means of gathering it.

  10. Yea. I've got finals coming up this next week, and two tests this week, so I'm stretched for time atm. I have a few weeks break after finals though.
  11. haha true :/
  12. Technically she should just be able to click "home" and it should work..
  13. The main issue is how to get it publicized to the extent where it would be successful.
  14. Indeed. I think it is good in concept, but like sayo and glider pointed out, who is responsible for mishaps? When it is in an open forum like this, we have the opportunity to correct each other. But students are generally confused when arguments break out amongst those trying to help. I know the last thing I want when I need help is TA's arguing over who is right (its happened before). ----- Slightly offtopic, but I was considering sort of a newsletter type Q&A for school children where they wouldn't have to be a member of the forum to ask. It could be somewhat of a collective "community service" project for us . It wouldn't be too demanding of our time. I could set up a webpage where they can punch their question in and it would automatically create a post in a specific forum. We could pick the best answers and publish them either on a webpage or in a newsletter, or both. I think there would be a good deal of interest in it, especially among science teachers. The problem is getting the newsletter/webpage recognized. Hopefully some larger institutions already in place would help us out or something. What do you all think?

    Is DNA a protein?

lol. "she meant to say", aka she lost the argument so she changed her initial premise.

    Weird dream

Sounds like the dream where you have to pee, and you go in your dream, but you don't feel releived! Ahh I hate that one.
  20. Wolfson, explain more how you envision the system working
  21. If you don't read what it's supposedly saying first, I guarantee you'd have a hard time making out what its saying. I played the clip for 8 different people once when I was in highschool. I got eight different interpretations of what it was saying (none of them relating to satan, incidentally). However, if you read it, you'll hear it.

  23. Man i want some pilots
  24. To be my "payload specialist" for my next video rocket. I want to purchase a wireless camera, but it requires that someone with a HAM license is at least involved with the rocket. This would entail telling what I can and can't do. Anyone anyone?
  25. SNES FF > PSX FF I will admit FF VII was pretty good, but the two on SNES rock. ::ducks::
