    I got the job!

    CONGRATS DAISY!! Is it research?
  3. The atomic mass on the periodic table does include data from the isotopes. The atomic mass on an accurate periodic table sum of all the isotopes * relative natural abundance. That is, carbon 12 has an atomic mass of 12.000000000, and has a natural abundance of 98.90%. Carbon 13 has an atomic mass of 13.003354826 and has an abundance of 1.10%. (12.0 * .9890) = 11.868 (13.003354826 * .0110) = .143036 Sum them and you get roughly 12.011...most periodic tables have 12.0107 for carbons mass. They are calculated to a higher precision than what I just did, but you get the general idea.

    Woo woo

It looks like the transfer destroyed some binary files within the database, so you all might have to reupload your avatars or something. Sorry about that.

  6. Has anyone been getting 404 or "Forbidden" errors recently? It's time to mail my host a horse head (faf's idea).
  7. I got hit in the head the other day while paintballing and it was one of the most painful things I can remember. I only remember 2 other very painful events 1) My yard is outlined by a stone wall, and I had hopped over the wall for some reason or another. The ground is a little bit lower on the other side of the wall, and so I needed a piece of wood to lean against the wall to stand on and give me a boost to be able to climb over. It was evening, and there was only a little bit of light left. I saw a piece of 2x4 laying on the ground nearby, so i propped it up and hopped on. I instantly felt an EXCRUCIATING pain in the soft part of my foot. I stepped down and lifted my foot, and the board was stuck to my foot. A nail had gone through my shoe and pierced a little into my foot. Hurt like a mad. 2) Another painful experience was hopping from rock to rock in a lake nearby. I slipped and my foot fell between the crack of the rocks and I banged my need down on a point on the stone with all my weight. That was the most painful experience I can remember. I nearly passed out, I could not take it. I was paintballing yesterday, and I got hit roughly 5 times on the top of my head (which is not protected by the mask). It seriously felt like someone was throwing rocks at my head. It knocked me backwards and gave me a serious migrane. http://www.blike.com/paintballing/DSC00054.jpg

  10. http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/nova/elegant/program.html GREAT book, havn't seen the show. I suppose I will now though
  11. Physical pain, not emotional.
  12. Yea. I must commend the Chinese for actually setting goals and putting the petal to the metal. Hopefully it'll jumpstart the US space program. They need to get on the ball and stop talking about fixing this and fixing that, and just build. Only seven years after JFK made his famous speech about landing on the moon, we stepped foot on the moon. NASA employs some of the smartest engineers in the world, I'm sure if they had the funding they needed they could come up with some great ideas.
  13. the monarchy doesn't actually do much, does it?
  14. sure sure
  15. I suspect if you added enough water, it could get quite close to neutral, but never fully neutralized. 3 posts in a row > i
  16. if you have access to pH paper (can be purchased from pool supply, fish supply, anything dealing with water) you can test it out yourself.
  17. I'm sure YT will be able to help. What is neutral (give or take depending on the purity). It will not neutralize the vinegar..
  18. ROFL. thats too funny. ::should get faf a christmas gift:: ;)
  19. glider is the "stick electrodes in your brain" (as he put it) kinda psychologist, not really a therapist. how often does she go to her father's? I don't know if any of us could have any real advice, other than getting her to tell you why she hates it :/
  20. regardless, we'll all have to bite our tounges for now BACK ON TOPIC YOU HEATHENS
  21. edit: disregard this former rant
  22. ROFL @ YOUR CRAPPY MUSTANG
  23. hrm. it seems because times new roman is the default "text" font, it doesn't add any tags to it. hold on, i'll fix.
  24. PSH. Terminology is general in this context. Don't necessarily have to assume that IQ is a reasonable indicator of intellect, because the trends reach far beyond IQ scores.
  25. oh i see. if you want to quote posts, simply check them before hitting reply.
