Is there any evidence for gross electoral fraud? The United States does not elect Presidents by the majority of popular vote. This has never been the case. According to the highest court in the land, George Bush is the legal president.

Polygamy is a felony in many states, and illegal in all 50 states. The polygamy battle is what declared that marriage is state-defined, not defined by consenting individuals. I do believe that many people in the United States still feel that homosexual is morally wrong. George Bush, being Methodist, is morally bound by what the Bible says about homosexuality. I wouldn't necessarily call this homophobic. They are not being denied a fundamental right, nor are they being denied the right to express their love in public or in private.

lol, that would be who grossly mispelled it

I'm not sure about the laser idea. I think a lot of energy would be lost creating the laser, and then more would be lost when the solar cell tries to harvest it again because they're not 100% efficient. Their are other ideas along that line though...so you're not way off base.. Microwave transmission is an option. I think x-ray and gamma ray transmission, because of their high frequency, would be a good means of wireless energy transfer. However they're not too healthy for us living things. They'd have to be pretty well controlled.

would an engine/motor/etc be more efficient in space?
blike replied to Stevil's topic in Classical Physics
I'm not sure about the first one. I would assume that the energy is still lost, its just not transmitted through space. About your hydro generator...You are correct that the water would eventually be spinning at the same speed as the donut. However, the instant you try and harvest energy from a stationary outside source both the water and the donut will lose their rotational speed and energy will have to be expended to keep it rotating at a constant speed. -
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/health/3102137.stm Professor Priscilla Alderson, an expert in childhood studies at London's Institute of Education, believes conditions such as attention deficit hyperactive disorder and mild autism are being over-diagnosed. She said many children's problems were due to bad parenting, and psychologists looking to "make a quick buck". hrmmm......

You're taking calculus and algebra in the same semeseter? I would recommend a graphing calculator, but some would probably disagree. Also, are you in the states or europe? (or elsewhere?)

http://www.rednova.com/news/stories/4/2003/07/26/story002.html Signs of trouble include the recent box-office failure of the 10th Star Trek movie, Nemesis; the declining ratings of Enterprise; and the recent lawsuit by game publisher Activision against Viacom, claiming that the company and Paramount have allowed the franchise to "stagnate."

"At the heart of all his work is the artist's belief that the body has become obsolete and seriously needs to be re-engineered. " Couldn't he just say that instead of growing an ear on his arm. What a goof.

I have read it. Of course, I'm not knowledgable in any of that stuff, so he could be pulling my leg and I'd believe every word of it Seemed like a good book though, he does a good job of explaining things.
