Isn't there some kind of software that can simulate thermodinamic systems, hence - the Kender Engine? Or maybe easygamer can show us calculations of the energy ballance of different stages, assuming we have 100% efficiency of each cooling/heating/pressure increasing mechanism. I mean real, specific calculations, not "assuming for the sake of argument" ones.

It sounds interesting, but without at least little bit more specific details about the technology, I can't comment on anything. Do you use some kind of analog capturing device, which data you filter to produce a digital image? I have actually thought about something similar, but only in fantasy/concept stage.

Green Xenon, you have very strange ideas about what is healthy, and what is not.

If you intend to sow the seed, you need to prepare them first. After collecting them, along with some pulp, you must set them aside, so they begin to ferment. When mold is formed, they are ready and you can wash and then dry and store them.

Once you progress beyond certain point, you cannot go back and the story moves somewhat straightforward. After finishing it, however, you can start all over again with your old character and all his abilities and experience.

To better express the hugeness of the cosmos, you can try to use a metaphor, so people can immagine it better. Also, i think it's a good idea to present some types of extermophiles, to show how life can exist in very hostile environment. Good examples are: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Deinococcus_radiodurans http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Strain_121 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Cryptoendolith.jpg It seems life occupies almost every possible environment, where it can draw energy from... Do you think that it could be possible for some kind of lifeforms to exist in stars... or the matter there is too "dynamic" to allow for any kind of organization?

Yesterday, I played a hacked version of the SC2 beta, which allows to play offline with some easy computer oponents, and believe me - it's sooo much fun! The graphics are not, imo, overboard. In small battles and rushes it feels almost the same as SC1. There aren't that many variety of units, however, which leads me to think that there is big probability that expansion pack will be released, similar to Brood War and The Frozen Throne. I really can't wait untill the final release.

Sorry about the offtopic question, but is the "curving" of space-time by large mass bodies just another abstraction, usefull in explaining gravity, or is it something ... hmmm... real?

Since colonies tend to seek independance, I doubt that any specific country will get advantage.

I think people today are overtrying to define intimate relations as something very complicated. The gereral impression is, that we live in sexualy open societies, but I think it's quite the opposite. There is an huge amount of nudity and sexual messages from the media, but people get more and more alienated from eachother. Setting up blind dates... have we came to the point where we must artificialy find partners to mate.

It's one of the most engaging and interesting games I played...

And how exactly does mass "fall" trough the "empty" space of a black hole towards it's center? With the speed of light?
-
ZolarV, you are making an awful lot of assumptions here... :}

Can we make an actual empirical verification of the internal structure behind the event horizon (EH)? Like for example - go with a spaceprobe near the EH and measure the coherency of the gravitational pull (does it comes from a single point or a spherical object).

http://www.lafn.org/~dave/trans/energy/rail_vs_autoEE.html Quite a surprise to me, it seems trains are only slightly more efficient than automobiles.

About the "density" of black holes... I thought that black holes are essentaly infinately small singularities with huge mass, thus the Schwarzschild radius of a black hole is just the property of space-time, created by that singularity.

I watched a documentary explaining the Prisoner's dilemma. It's a basic simulation on different strategies between entities, who have the chance to either cooperate and/or defect. The results showed that although slightly more risky - to rely on cooperations is a better strategy overall, compared to exploitation of others - parasitism.

Hmmm, and if they mutate and the planet turns into irreversible gray goo scenario?
-
I don't want to blur the topic, but aren't properties of black holes purely theorethical? To the best of my knowledge, we only speculate about the quantitive and qualitive characteristics of large mass bodies, no matter how probable or percise these speculations might be.

But the force, created by the propulsion system is related to the momentum change of the gas, i.e. the impulse, not the velocity. So isn't the mass of the gas irrelevant (high mass gases will have lower velocity but identical momentum compared to low mass gases with higher velocity, that is provided mass and velocity change being proportional).

Removing baddies from blood via the colon -- a good thing?

Cholesterol is vital for maintaining cell membranes. Glycerol is an important too, i think. The idea to genetically modify one's body instead to just eat healthy, good quality food seems absurd to me. Also, in some situations, you may actually need the ability to digest saturated or trans fats, just because there is no other food source, for example.
