  1. oh yes? beethoven's symphony no 5 the remyxx? My grandpa didn't like that one. My main point was trying to get to why bass itself is such a huge thing for youngins. You two seemed to hone in on the confrontational aspect of my post, which in itself is interesting... but... Why do we like big bass? Why is the bassline the part of music we listen to? Why are there subwoofers bigger than the engines that carry them?
  2. Moving fast does nothing to you. It's the accelleration that hurts.
  3. I love bassy music. My headphones are the size and weight of my own skull. My car audio system much more so. Same with about 70 other cars that pass my way every night. I love bass; my sister loves bass; my friends love bass. The subwoofer to people ratio amongst my friends is about 1.8:1 But, why is it that young people like big bass so much? And why do old people hate it? I know we have a sample from both sides of the spectrum here, so lets hear it!
  4. Well, I'm not sure about you lot, but a world without the opposite sex would be pretty horrid to me.
  5. Why do I feel more tired when I get lots of sleep rather than only 4-5 hours per night?
  6. I think you will... all our players are over in Europe cuz our season is dead. Bloody Ruskies... crying home to mamma when things get ugly. "Oh no, my pay has been cut from 2 million/yr to 1/yr. I must strike!!!" Boo effing hoo. [edit] Don't come back!!! [edit] I was just kidding, come back... please.
  7. I think I was a bad reference for my friend... he didn't get the job. I think he went bankrupt or something... but by that time I was out of state... didn't need that kind of baggage around.
  8. How come you all know what your xmas gifts are??? THIS IS MADNESS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! MADNESS I SAY!!!!!!!!! im getting socks. which is cool... with me.... like, they're comfortable, I think. I mean, I haven't tried them yet. But I assume they are. and a mandrin orange. dammit
  9. I live in Vancouver BC, which is way cooler than Vancouver, Washington, mainly because of the higher latitude. Basically, Vancouver is like Seattle with less guns and more Chinese people. Mountains, lakes, and polluted rivers, green, green fields and snow capped mountains as far as the eye can see. Shopping centres and grand cinema and symphony uptown, riots and high, drunken bums downtown. West vancouver has the snobs, north van the cool people, core vancouver has the safe injection sites, and south vancouver has the loose woman and social misfits. All in all, a regular city with regular offensive commentary. look at this goose [edit] I almost forgot... Vancouver has the highest variety of cute women (and men for the sake of political correctness... after all, I'm here) on the planet. Wherever you go, columbians, japanese, brazillians, swedes, americans, swedes, frenchies, etc... AND THEY ALL WANT TO PARTY RIGHT NOW CALL 1-800-TALK-NOW for the HOTTEST TALKING ACTION AVAILABLE! LIVE SINGLES 24/7!!! ONLY $65 PER MINUTE!!! k, im done.
  10. Hi Canada!!!!!! Oh wait, I'm in Canada! HI ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! HI!
  11. I think I am, but how about all of you? What is the most evil thing you've ever done?
  12. I've had an xmas avatar all year. It's like string lights in July. They make your house look chic and newfangled. [edit] What the hell? Santa's a hindu, beeeyotch.
  13. I say a sphere of millions of tiny sensors with only one axis of movement each, and very sensitive, pointing in all directions. The difference in force between them could be compared. Of course all manors of shielding and compensation for movement would have to be used to keep other forces from fooling with the data. But what now could something like this be used for? I bet it would be really usefull for interstellar navigation, assuming it could be made to be that sensitive.
  14. Space above and Beyond was neat, although short lived. My votes go to DS-9, B5, although I barely saw it, and ST:TNG for atmosphere, originality and the wicked cast, respectively. I grew up with TNG and have tonnes of collectables from my childhood that I just couldn't bring myself to throw out, so TNG it is.
  15. Where did the idea of conservation of energy come from? I hope it wasn't just the observation of lab experiments. Has any form of negative energy been discovered?
  16. Lol. I've said nothing about my audio system. It's not very good at all... I just have nice headphones. 22kHz can be achieved on any new computer with a good headset. Not expensive by any means, but every gamer should have one. [edit] I'm gonna be first in line for aural implants when I'm older. Down with deafism!
  17. Tone makers. You can download them, and if your soundcard is good enough, you can generate sine waves up to 22kHz. It's no theory. [edit] And your sound hardware has to be good enough as well.... most headphones and speakers people have on their computers ain't that superb.
  18. Well, asuming those were all the athiest bands out there, which they obviosly are not, but for the sake of the argument, there are far more bands not on that list than on it, and I am willing to bet that the number of Christian bands far outweigh the number of athiest bands on the planet. Hell, I personally know a few Christian bands and no athiest bands, and I'm neither.
  19. I cannot hear anything above 14kHz anymore. Even just a year ago I could hear well above 15k. Am I screwed, or is there any way at all to improve my range again? Knowing that sound will never be as crisp as it once was is extremely disconcerting. It's just so cilia.
  20. By the time the energy was allowed to form hydrogen, it's no longer 'perfect.'
  21. A Canadian is just like an American, but knows the names of BOTH countries' capitals.
