Werd, so can I fix it? It never used to exist, and must have come with the newest update I got. The best thing about this... ever since I got the newest IE, automatic windows update over microsoft.com stopped working. So whatever error came with IE is dissalowing me from updating past it. Oh, this, BTW, is part of what caused me to DEL windows in the first place. The other was a series of MS runtime updates I got that caused every program I have, MS and otherwise, to crash in a matter of seconds. Great fun. I love Microsoft and how it manages to keep its software from conflicting with itself and doesn't slowly but systematically lock me out of my own computer. Great fun indeed.

My browser is going extremely slowly. Nothing else is, just my browser. It makes no sense. For example, right now I am typing and I have to wait for a long time for my text to catch up to where I am, and I type at about 40 WPM... not 7000. Simmilar thing with scrolling. And the more complicated the page, the worse it gets. Needless to say, typing in some of SFNs threads is insanely tedius. I have IE6, winME and this just started happenning right out of the blue. I just deleted and reinstalled windows rencently if that has anything to do with it, but I don't think so b/c I deleted the registry along with windows. I have 576MB of RAM and 70% free resources right now and it's still doing it. Notepad types fine.

I can attest to this. A long time ago, whilst sitting in front of the TV, this idea came to mind. So, I decided to test it by clicking the remote into my eye for about a minute. Lo and behold, my eye started to hurt. Would people who were able to see past our spectrum see more colors or simply see our colors distributed over a wider range of frequencies? I'm guessing more colors. Can't wait till ultra/infra computer monitors come out.

Are there comas where the patient retains subconcious activity? If so, I would not want to experience it. I have talked about lucid dreams before and had one the other night. I am fairly certain that I could figure out that I was in a coma and would wish I was dead. Dreams are only cool b/c you can wake up from them. Ever see that movie "Momento"? I think it would be simmilar to that. A cross between momento and the matrix, except you know you ain't gonna wake up, and you know you are comatose. Terrifying, to say the least.

What chemicals are involved in a placebo effect like that? Same as the painkiller placebo chemicals? If so, why is the instant high so powerful compared to taking pills?

Sometimes when I drink, I get and instant but fleeting high soon after the acohol touches my tongue. Is it going into my bloodstream or is it the placebo effect? Bit of both? Some type of chemical preparation made by the brain for recieving alcohol (which would just be the placebo effect wouldn't it)?

Yes, thank you. I actually meant to go past that with FTL. Lightspeed should be reachable then by matter, but once hit, that matter would instantly be turned singular. Perhaps the black hole causing factor in super novas then?

Where might you get that kind of energy? And if you had that kind of energy, why waste it on capturing a black hole when you might as well just save it and make your own for the 5 seconds it takes to annihilate a solar-system?

Some galaxies have no dark matter. That's odd. I wonder if when galaxies collide, much of the dark matter in them also collides and destroys itself. I kindof feel that way when thinking about very large expanses of time. If I think that way too long I actually get very depressed because of the insignifigant ammount of time one person lasts. i cannot really describe the sensation, although I'm sure it has nothing to do with what you are describing, but it seems very cold, and I tend to feel distanced from my surroundings. It is a very very odd feeling, like time passing very quickly, even though when I snap out of it, a "normal" seeming ammount of time has passed. And no, it ain't drug related. Edit -- Maybe it was drug related... why the hell is this posted here?
