  1. "I don't measure a man's success by how high he climbs but how high he bounces when he hits bottom." ~ George S. Patton "If we do discover a complete theory, it should in time be understandable in broad principle by everyone, not just a few scientists. Then we shall all, philosophers, scientists, and just ordinary people, be able to take part in the discussion of the question of why it is that we and the universe exist. If we find the answer to that, it would be the ultimate triumph of human reason — for then we would know the mind of God." ~ Stephen Hawking "We are all in the gutter, but some of us are looking at the stars." ~ Oscar Wilde

    New Idea

Well nothing with mass can be accelerated to the speed of light, but the rest of it sounds interesting. Best of luck with your studies
  3. Well maybe if dark energy has a lot to do with the nature of space then perhaps this thoery is somewhat related to the standard ideas of black holes...? No?
  4. Well as was said: 229 + 1 = 230 + 18 = 248 197 + 1 = 198 + 18 = 216 so continuing this pattern I see (there could be others) you get: 165 166 184 133 134 152 or... 016501660184013301340152 and so on... Does that mean anything to anyone? Only other thing I thought of was that they looked like RGB values to me, as they are all under 255, but not much turned up... 229 230 248 hexadecimal value is E5E6F8 197 198 216 hexadecimal value is C5C6D8 165 166 184 hexadecimal value is A5A6B8 133 134 152 hexadecimal value is 858698 the number partners are all the same, but thats just due to the pattern..., which is why they are all a grayish shade of blue... but that probably doesnt mean anything.... I dunno... im stumped, I feel like there is a bigger pattern connecting all them

    Random Numbers

So there really is no such thing as random numbers? If I were to throw some dice, they would land 'randomly', but there is a long complex physics equation that can determine how those dice got those numbers... and hypothetically one can substitute force values etc to make a desired outcome? So basically my question is, how does the New York lottery generate its random numbers…?
  8. I don’t know much about genetics so forgive me if this question is futile, But lets imagine for an moment that on some distant planet somewhere, hydrocarbons (or hey why not other types of molecules) formed something similar to DNA and RNA, but not quite the same, but still being able generate something similar to life, just not life as we see it. Maybe their DNA is not a double helix and uses some other form to hold its genetic information? Maybe life can be made out of non-carbon based molecules? Perhaps that 'life' would have unimaginable characteristics… Sorry if this question is stupid, I just thought to myself why is it only DNA and RNA as we know it that is responsible for life?
  9. I think its main purpse was to show the strength of the civilization who built it... just like every other big and massive man made structure And I thought it was built before the druids?
  10. Porno has been around since the Renaissance : Venus of Urbino, by TITian Its porn disguised to be tasteful... This was made for some wealthy aristocrat and placed in a back room somewhere... or other paintings would have a drape over them to cover it up... Prostitution has been around forever… Plus I bet some of the first scenes to be shot on film were people having sex... Its natural, it always been around and it should always be around... its sex... its normal stuff... I don’t see what the big deal is…
  11. you wouldnt hit anythin, you would just float on the balls.... maybe the smaller kids balls you would sink
  12. you misread me, I didnt mix... I took the tylenol for a hangover...I was sober for the hallucinations

    Cool Facts

If you were to stack every person living in America on top of each other (standing up) they would reach far beyond the moon
  14. and without radiation but nanotech is going to be cheap no matter what.... the idea is to use nanobots to assemble whatever is needed... it can't get any cheaper
  15. Ha, I switched the 90% and 10% around.. sorry about that... dont know what Im talking about
  16. None of you know how many people he ordered to kill, none of you know what he really did and what he is really responsible for. This is what the trial is for... Taking a look at my own government, and I can see many parallels, just on a smaller scale... Treason is punishable by execution in the US, 1,000 criminals have been executed since 1977, Under Saddam, however many that were killed were considered criminals... Saddam invaded Kuwait, we just invaded Iraq… whats the difference really? The US government most likley uses tortue in places like Guantanamo Bay and Abu Grab (look at that scandal too) The US government oppresses many of its people too, we just do systemically and hide it well. ... And thats just what we know about... Now of course the degree doesn’t match up anywhere near what he is accused of, but in principle there are similarities with every government... Sure he was a tyrant, sure he did a lot bad things, but every government does bad things, he deserves a fair trial.
  17. http://www.automotivedesignline.com/news/174402376 cool.
  18. No way? how did that guy get a phd... that was basically an old idea by John Locke called tabula rosa... I dont remember what happened this weekend... does that mean my consciousness wasnt developed? When we were born we didnt know what anything was so how can we attach a memory to it?
  19. I guess this goes into string theory and such, because then you would have a nice answer... the vibrating strings of enegery determine whatever particles responsible for space and thus space is generated... space is just energy but thats a whole lot of imagination and not much science right there... But perhaps not too far off... I think at least that there are many many particles yet to be discovered that could provide answers for questions like this and many other unsolved questions... I guess basically I just want to understand space

    Cold

well when you get to really high tempertures (trillions like at the big bang) I think a lot of the laws of physics fall apart...
  21. But I am not asking why, I am asking how.... which is completely scientific. The Higgs boson is suppose to cause the theorized Higgs field, which gives mass to particles… I am thinking here that mass and space go hand in hand… Is it possible that the particles responsible for dark matter or dark energy or any type of particle for that matter is part of what causes space?
  22. JonM

    Cold

Well... you can't have no energy right? I mean that would cause some serious problems in lots of theories? It would just be like... nothing
  23. JonM

    Cold

Would theoretically 0 kelvin be the complete absence of energy?
  24. Are theoretical particles like the Higgs Boson and other similar particles (discovered or theoretical) responsible what we experience as space? Is it because of them that there is mass and matter and 3d space? Does their existence generate space? I don’t understand the theorized nature of these particles, if anyone can help me out, it would be much appreciated

how does the lottery generate them?
