So it's like when the sails are facing the sunlight, it will be like a sail on a ship and it will move the space craft? It will have to face the sun all the time right?
-
Hey I wanted to ask about Solar Sailing and I find this strange and I am quite puzzled as how can mere sunlight power an aircraft. I have looked thru articles on Solar sailing available to me at the moment but I dun get how can sunlight power a spacecraft. is it like solar cells or using light energy

So it will much deeper in the crust where temperatures would be quite warm right? Mars said to have geysers so I think it's going to be pretty warm somewhere. Thanks ttyo888 and moontanman.

I see thanks for clearing this up Moontanman. so the result is CO2 instead right?

Well according to what I found out iron bacteria can turn ferrous oxide into ferrous hydroxide and oxygen. Or is the article I found wrong?
-
Ok but how do iron bacteria do it?
-
Anyone know the composition of Martial Soil? I am aware that Fe203 is in abundance or am I wrong?
-
What if he's like deep underground?
-
ferric oxide? Martian soil has plenty of it.

Planting more plants? There is a fungus that's looks like human hair we call Fa Cai, it's grows in what is now causing the sand. The fungus is highly sought after especially in Chinese New year. The Fungus had been holding the soils for years but at the expense. Fa Cai= Get Rich Correct me if I am wrong there might be other factors causing such sands. It's so serious affects Taiwan as well.

So if a chemosynthetic ecosystem were to be discovered on Mars... One would expect that humans will suffocate there right? I was thinking about the case of Iron bacteria thought, they can turn ferrous oxide into ferrous hydroxide and oxygen. water + ferric oxide --> ferrous hydroxide + oxygen
-
But most chemosynthetic organism today use oxygen right? If say all of the photosynthetic orgamism die out, will they suffocate?
-
Oh sorry I thought that Chemosynthesis can like photosynthesis produce oxygen.. Which is the question is how did these producers survive in a place with almost no oxygen. however here's a formula that my friend came up... 6CO2(g) + 2Fe2O3(s) + 6H2O(l) ===> C6H12O6(s) + 8O2(g) + 4FeO(s) What do you guys think? This formula might be able to work on MARS...

I just heard that fungi can dissolve substances like plastic, metal.etc How do they do it? Can they probably dissolve Iron Oxide too?
-
IS there a way to reverse the symptoms? Rehabilitation?
-
Can Chemosynthetic organisms create a sustainable oxygen atmosphere in subterranean Mars?
-
If say we can survive on Mars and there's oxygen and food and water, I wonder what kind of effects will there be on the human body. Since Mar's gravity is weaker than Earth.

Lets see in response to wind turbines or higher altitudes. Mammalian lungs suck at such conditions. Explains why bat die near wind turbines... Also why you would find a bird at a higher altitude than a mammal.
-
Bone is one... but what else is just as hard
-
What's the advantage of having a broad wing or a narrow wing?
-
I did some research on the air sac breathing system of birds and I found it fascinating... Is it possible for a similar system to evolve in another group like say reptile or mammal?
-
I was wondering over this picture.... Do Bats, also have different wing shapes like this?
-
Can carbon fiber or a similar substance of similar properties be produced organically? Like say as a product by the body of an animal?

IS it possible that Environmentalism can become terrorism? Becos in a way, Environmentalism seems to resemble religion minus all the rituals and stuff. But however, like religion it seems it's like a philosophy.etc. And misinterpreted it could become like extremism. I look from it from a negative perspective, it makes humans look like the enemy of everything natural. From a positive, humans are part of the natural system. Discuss.
