  1. I'm not sure what the goal of this forum is... If you are in school, I'm hesitant to just give you the answers to these... But if you're looking for resources of where to find them I'd look at: 1. LaRocke, Comprehensive Organic Tranformations 2. March, Advanced Organic Chemistry 3. SciFinder (subscription based) Most colleges will have the first 2, and access to the third. All the answers are there... Good luck. PS - If you can't find the answers there, find the works of Jacobsen, Molander, Danheiser, Nikolau, et. al....
  2. There are many a hot topic in med chem always.... Here's some possible topics that are relevant in the industry today: 1. Fragment based drug design 2. Potent compound (cytotoxics) preparation at scale 3. Protein crystallization All of these topics are huge concerns for med chem in pharma now, and they go beyond a specific target. Hope this helps,
  3. A powerful concept... and yet not easy to duplicate... The first thing you need to understand is that any reaction, no matter how complete it seems, is in chemical equilibreum.... Furthermore, shifting these equilibrea isn't a simple matter.... I really enjoyed your post, and you've obviously thought about this alot.... I think that many times nature defies classical looks at equilibrea etc... (for example, there are many enzymes that can do things far better than any organic chemist)....
