Wouldn't philosophy and science go hand and hand in understanding reality?

Animorphidite Parasite The Invasion by Derrick Roberts My name is Jake. For the past 2 years I've been captive to a being known as Visser 9009. This is a Yeerk, nasty creature dozens of years from Earth with their technology. They travelled here in the bodies of other aleins they enslaved. Visuals from his homeworld often leak over into my mind. I remember my first few days of slavery vividly.

Why was this innocent childrens story removed by a MOD? Richard Dawkins dozed peacefully off at the park while walking his dog Nygel. He wakes angrily. He spins around and looks in the direction of the noise. Richard Dawkins walks over and stands in front of the man. The stranger nods as a sort of greeting to him. "Jesus is alive and one day he's going to return" continues the stranger. "when He does every one that ever existed will be judged according to their deeds in the body." "The saints hearts will be filled with everlasting joy!" "The enemies of our Lord Jesus will have their hearts crushed and there existance will be an everlasting nightmare...." Dawkins interrupts with a fit of laughter and walks away. "Jesus is waiting for you to show signs of interest in him" continues the man without further disturbance.

Unless the bible is true and all the destruction and evil we witnessed thoroughout all history is the result of sin.

There are 6 billion people on the planet that say: A Supernatural Force Exists Eternally or I'm not sure. or I am sure that no SF exists. Some say there are one billion "non-religious" individuals living on our planet. Less that 1/6 say "I'm not sure" and "I am sure that no SF exists." "For after all what is man in nature? A nothing in relation to infinity, all in relation to nothing. A central point in between nothing and all and infinitely far from understanding either." -Blaise Pascal We exist and that is something all at SFTHE ORIGINAL can admit. There seems to be reason and rhyme to the universe. Humans have personality and a sense of humor.

Are parallel universes a valid concept?

witchcraft has been reported for thousands of years all around the world. demon possession was believed to be real until recent centuries. Vishnu wasn't the Son of God. The FSM isn't worshipped by half the worlds population (abrahamic faiths combined) and hasn't been for thousands of years. Although the Star Wars series is popular no one is as popular as the one I do worship. No one is shown in such a greater light. Reality always does get victory over a belief which is what I was saying when I said that secular ideas will be forgotten. When Jesus returns no one will believe them anymore. -

God didnt plant anything, men see certain things and say they support there theories. He simply allows you to believe lies, but he isnt responsible for them.

I dont think it's reasonable to say there are NO cetainties in the universe. To be honest you have to admit that you exist and that there is no margin for error. "Thousands of smart people claim" is perfect wording for why U.S. men, women, boys, and girls accept BB and mac-E claims. The reason for the controversy is believers around the world recognize that the "smart people" have forgotten to figure God in to there equations and so therefore fail as scientists. After reading toastywombel's post I have to admit that skimming over wikipedia is not a proper education on the subject. this interest in how space and time are entwined sort of just sparked one day while reading a very long post from a philosopher/scientist in another sci-forum. Time is such an interesting subject and when I get down on learning from the web I do recieve treasures of knowledge. To answer you ? no I have never been formally taught on the subject. I was but everyone was so mean to this science teacher that no one wanted to learn anything ever. I failed biology that year, my senior year the teacher was a Christian that out right refused to teach it and no one said anything. Thanx for the post, I will read all of it. I dont want to be lazy I need to hit some books and my college site.

I disagree, I think you are 100% sure about certain things. Do you have a heart? Do you require water to live? In the same way I am sure space and time are entwined. It's quite foolish to assume I haven't studied and I never said the universe wasn't complicated I just stated a fact about it. I never said I believe the universe is small or simple. All I know about the "act of creation" is limited to what the bible says, so Im positive I dont understand it fully. How do we "know" it expands? Here you are doing exactly what you condemned me for. What technology do we have that must take this into account?

The problem is interpretation. Everyone is viewing the same 'evidence' but that doesn't mean much because each individual must decide if its valid or not. Yes sir and I thought the section on intermdiates was shady. It points to obscure things like similarities in ear bones and jawbones, shows odd shaped bird wings, human skulls vs. primates, and a sea cow with legs which I believe to be fabricated. Talkorigins is a very good site to get the secular side of things, and it's interesting that even their arguments are weak. It sort of confirms what I already believed to be true about evidence surrounding macro-E. http://www.talkorigins.org/faqs/comdesc/section.html#morphological_intermediates I'm not demanding that each creature alive on earth should have transitional fossils all the way back. It seems reasonable to assume that if billions of years of life has been sustained there ought to be loads of transitions discovered that prove macro-E beyond a shadow of doubt. -

That's what I've been hearing but the problem is there isn't sufficient evidence. I agree that a half/half creature wouldnt be expected, I stand corrected. However, I still think macro-E IS about one species transforming into a seperate one, and that although these changes are gradual there ought to be countless speciman with bizarre and obvious features showing these transitions. I dont think the process could have been so subtle that it would go un-noticed in the creatures. I would say our DNA is similar because we are similar. Primates have fingers and thumbs, they stand on two legs upright, they have a face similar to humans, so in my mind it would makes sense for humans and primates to have close genetic codes. Micro-E is the idea that small changes do occur within a species, Macro-E is the idea that all creatures descended from the same living organizm and that the small changes that occur accumulate to cause different species. -

I don't believe there are thousands of intermediate fossils. All fossils found are of one species type. Archaeopteryx is a bird, not an intermediate. Its not childish to disagree with modern macro-E trends and I have just as much education available to me as you do. I agree that every creature is subject to micro-E but disagree with macro-E ideas. These are good points but with the supposed billions of years of life this earth has sustained, there should be large numbers of fossils discovered. Lets take it at face value, low amount of fossils, even LOWER amount of "transitional fossils" that all equals no evidence.
