  1. In reality there is no valid numerical value for infinity so making that assumption to support any proof is flawed from the start. That assumption renders the rest of your proof as worthless.
  2. Our constitution can only be changed by us, the people. It is the law that protects our freedom of speech, unless we the people decide to change it. That is our protection. Culture? What do you mean by culture if it is not the people?
  3. The constitutional right to free speech is a constraint on the government from prohibiting free speech, not a right of an individual to say whatever they want on someone else's private property. Your local library has every right to tell you to be quiet or get out and so does the owner of a private forum.
  4. Depends on the view that atheist simply means not-theist. Atheists are not-theist because there is no evidence to support being theist.
  5. Wow. You're really having a hard time grasping what the term atheist means huh? Atheism IS NOT about evidence, it's about the lack of evidence to support any conclusion that one or more deities exist. Theists conclude that there is in fact one or more deities based on faith alone. Atheists refuse to do the same because they are holding out for evidence, real verifiable, testable evidence.
  6. Yes Yes The law cannot be used against you for your choice of religion, or lack thereof, nor for your expression of speech. Unlike Kim Jong's constituents I can call Obama a moron without fear of being imprisoned for doing so. BTW, I'm an equal opportunity presidential bash in that I think both Bushes, Clinton, Carter and several more were also morons!
  7. Cuz that's where women come from. Ain't you read your bible?
  8. Hmmmmmmmmm, could I interest you in a Nigerian cloaking device
  9. Do not believe just because you want to believe, believe when there is verifiable, testable, supporting evidence. Draw no conclusions before their time....
  10. Didn't follow the link and read the results huh? If you had you would notice the links Google returns with that search point out the Mayans never claimed the world would end. BTW, Google just indexed the links to the sites, they didn't write them.
  11. Mayan prophecy
  12. I see no need to put any time into reviewing such an absurd idea. The Bhartiya New Rule for Fraction does not solve any problems, it creates problems. It would create continuity in discontinuous functions and break traditional methods of analysis used for engineering. Consider for example Tan 90° = sin 90°/cos 90° = 1/0 which is both undefined and discontinuous. How would simply calling this value 0 with some flawed application of algebra be a benefit to analysis?
  13. Maybe you were reading something about a potential magnetic field reversal instead of a gravitational field reversal. The first is a valid possibility, the second is not.
  14. Frankly I think you could probably list things like vampire leprechauns and zombie unicorns in front of a gravitational field reversal...
  15. It's an abrasive process basically. The eraser scratches the graphite particles off of the fibers of the paper. Harder erasers will also remove some of the fibers from the surface of the paper. That's why erasers made to remove ink are much harder than pencil erasers because you generally have to remove the fibers stained with ink to remove ink marks on paper. At the other extreme are kneaded erasers that are designed to be gentle on the paper and absorbent to soft materials like graphite or charcoal.
  16. That could be why I get better performance with Linux. My ASUS Seashell was originally designed for Linux and later came out with Win7 on it. That was the main reason I chose it because it was my intention to run Linux on it anyhow and I wanted a netbook that I knew had been optimized at the design stage for Linux. For me it's paid off, I've got Win7 on the machine if I should ever need it but it runs Linux very well
  17. IMO I'd say it doesn't work since X/0 and 0/0 are undefined by definition. Do we really want to teach kids that these equal 0 because that's exactly what they'll think if their calculator says so. What next? Do we start teaching that the limits of these equations approach 0 as the denominator approaches 0? What effect would this have on engineering?
  18. As an aside, why does everyone refer to god as he or she instead of just "it"? Why assign a gender to something that doesn't procreate?
  19. Yes but......how is it configured? I run Xubuntu on my ASUS netbook which is nothing more than Ubuntu with XFCE. The netbook came with Windows 7. In regular desktop use I can get 11 hours of battery life in Xubuntu and I've never succeeded in getting anymore than 6 hours in Windows 7. It's so bad that when I need to run Windows I run it in VirtualBox under Linux instead of booting it natively. All of this considered I have to wonder how and why the OP is having the opposite experience because it's certainly not what I've experienced.
  20. It's a theory, a theory adhered to religiously by some and dismissed by others but at the moment it is the theory we think best fits our observations and predictions. I personally do not subscribe to it being the beginning of everything, i believe time and matter have always existed. Unlike theists, scientists are not all in the same boat with the exception that they are looking for the truth as opposed to making one up out of thin air. So does science. With ZERO supporting evidence that's where it belongs. The HONEST answer is we don't know and we're looking for answers. We can't explain everything because we can't even observe everything so we'll never know some of the answers. We'll find the answers and explain as we can. Was it created at all? Has it always existed? We should not constrain our questions like this in a search for the real truth.
  21. See Capsaicin: 7 Powerful Health Benefits (Including Killing Cancer Cells) of the Stuff that Makes Peppers HOT It is also a powerful non-fatal weapon used by all kinds of security forces. It's used as an animal repellent including some insects. It is also an insecticide and is toxic to some forms of bacteria. BTW, your can learn more by searching for capsaicin benefits. Searching information is a real handy feature to learn about using the internet.
  22. Wrong answer. Scientists claim that we don't know. Scientists don't draw conclusions while they're still looking for answers. They proffer hypotheses and try to refute them or refine them in the search for the truth. We don't know if anything proceeded reality or if there is even a cause for reality. We'll likely never know but that's no reason to yield to the invented answer that, "god did it". That's a cope out for those that just want to give up looking for the whole truth, the real truth. Maybe there is a god, maybe not. We don't "know" and that's what science is about, knowledge. It's not about believing there is or isn't a god, it's about knowing there is or isn't a god. As it is now there is no real evidence of any deities so there's no reason to conclude that any exist and that's what theists want scientists to do. It's really sad.
  23. So far you've presented no argument an atheist couldn't win. So far your only evidence is hand-me-down hearsay.
  24. linux 11.10 is not a distribution. Maybe you have Ubuntu 11.10? Kubuntu? Some other assembly? Even then it would be perfectly possible to run a distro like Ubuntu 11.10 configured to run a desktop like Compbiz's Desktop Cube with its 3D windows plugin and you could push the processor much harder than MS Windows. OTOH you could run a power conservative desktop like XFCE or LXDE and save power over WIndows. Since we have no idea what you have though we have no idea what we're making comparisons of.
  25. Really? For me they're not things that supposedly live anywhere, they are purely fictional. So! Is there some mandatory rule somewhere that says man MUST know why the universe exists? Just because we don't know why is not a reason to make up an answer. Why not? They all represent fictional entities. Can you prove there are no invisible leprechauns, unicorns, tooth fairies, santa clauses, etc.? There is no reason whatsoever to believe in any answer simply imagined by man to answer questions he can't answer, particularly those from millennia ago when man thought eclipses were the work of some sun god or other deity. If we are going to believe the imagination of ancient cultures then maybe we should go back to human sacrifice to keep our planet safe too, huh?
