I can't think of any. Does that mean Newton's law is invalid? His law effectively says that motion is perpetual unless something stops it. Are you claiming this law is false?
-
No, I was referring to Newton's First Law, "Every object in a state of uniform motion tends to remain in that state of motion unless an external force is applied to it." This implies if there are no external forces like friction or gravity acting on a body in motion then a body in motion tends to remain in motion. Think of planets in motion, etc. in the vacuum of space or the orbits of electrons about their nucleus in the atom. Motion is perpetual by definition. What is not possible is deriving energy from such motion which would effectively apply an external force. In this case the first law of thermodynamics would apply as well, i.e. "for a thermodynamic cycle the sum of net heat supplied to the system and the net work done by the system is equal to zero." IOW, you only get out what you put in....

Isn't all motion perpetual according to Newton's first law of motion?

IMO this stimulus package is nothing more than a bipartisan effort to buy votes for incumbents....

But informed voters know that Ron Paul favors turning a blind eye to the issue of Islamic terrorism which is not a quality they're looking for in a world leader....

There's a reason for that. vBulletin doesn't index words shorter than 4 or 5 characters unless it is specifically configured to do so. Setting it to index all the 2 and 3 letter words so that you can perform searches like your sample could strongly affect site performance. Even Google ignores most common words for the same reason. OTOH, I'm sure the team at vBulletin would love to see any code you have to offer that might overcome some of the obstacles related to implementing the search function. -
Ron Paul supports the same Constitutionalist Libertarian ideology as I and Huckabee could be a possibility as well. I don't think either is viable and I'm not sure that either is what I would consider "Presidential" material. I would take either of these over any of the 4 front runners.

I'll certainly be voting against McCain myself but that's not saying much. I'll be voting against Romney, Hillary and Obama as well. With no one to vote "for" this season I guess I'm left to writing myself in. I sure wish someone would call a misdeal, this hand is terrible.

I think the most accurate statement would be to simply state that Congress is responsible for the horrendous national debt.

I think the write in "None of the above" is a better default vote....

I went back over my post and couldn't find where I had excluded those that paid social security and medicare taxes. There are people that will get a so called rebate that paid little or no tax in any category and I still say the money they receive is a gift, not a rebate.
-
One small nitpick here. As far as rebates are concerned, they're only rebates for those getting back some of the money they paid in. Returning money to people that paid little or no taxes is effectively granting gifts from the public treasury, not rebates.

When you click on a member name it takes you to their member page, not their UserCP. Your User Control Panel is not the same as your member page. If you go to your member page you will see it has the same options as everyone elses. I'd just bookmark it. -
Same here. Fortunately water has always been my favorite drink
-
Not really. It doesn't cause an increase in blood sugar but it does increase one's appetite. Sucralose doesn't increase blood sugar at all and it isn't the appetite stimulant that aspartame is. Being calorie free, it doesn't provide any energy either.

The absence of atmospheric pressure....

FWIW, I have always been a thirsty person. Even as a kid the other kids would tease me about the quantity of water I drank. With my blood sugar under control I am still thirstier than average. I don't "think" I need more water, I am physically thirsty. I don't think it's a disorder per se, just a trait I have. You too could be just another thirsty individual.

IMO it's an antagonist symbol. Based on our knowledge, or lack thereof, the whole "creationism vs evolution" debate is meaningless. Creationism is about origins of life, evolution is not. They are not mutually exclusive ideals. There is a vast quantity of evidence supporting evolution as a mechanism for adaptation and speciation so there shouldn't be any debate as to whether or not evolution occurs. There is zero evidence supporting creationism as a model for mutation, adaption and speciation so there's nothing to debate about these. The real competitors to creationism are abiogenesis, panspermia/transpermia and other as yet unconceived ideas. Scientists should not continue to steer the debate towards evolution with bait like the Darwin Fish.

I would not recommend speed reading for study. The material needs to sink in instead of flying by.
