The .75m is the length of a lever where the force applied is that resulting from the centrifugal force of the stone spinning around that lever. Imagine that you are holding a stick with a stone attached to a string .75m from your hand. If you spin the stone about the stick it will exert a force on your hand.
BTW, the formula you are using is not the one to calculate the force that results from the orbiting stone...
Jeff Hawkins: Brain science is about to fundamentally change computing is an interesting lecture related to this topic. Perhaps some of you will enjoy it as much as I did.
I disagree. The lack of evidence supports no conclusions. Just think of the elements we have yet to discover, if any. The lack of evidence for undiscovered elements does not imply that there are no undiscovered elements and science draws no such conclusion. Science simply says, "we don't know".
Picture a pole, like a flagpole, with a string attached .75m from the ground. There's a 2kg stone attached to the string spinning around the pole at 12 rad/s which exerts a centrifugal force on the pole .75m above its base. What is the resulting torque that pole exerts on it's base?
Not really. The theory of evolution can be tested in the laboratory with predictions, observations and scientific tests. There is no physical evidence to support the God theory...
I don't believe you can categorically hate religions. Many good productive people have their moral foundation based in their religion. Hate the intolerance and the hatred that are taught by some religious people but not the religion itself. Religion is a tool, much like a gun, that can be wielded for good or evil. Hate those that wield it for evil.
OK, it's debatable. Are you saying the surveillance actually started sooner with waiting for the court? Have you any evidence to suggest that could be the case?
The public is still manipulated in such a way though. One example I can think of is Excedrin. They have a variety of analgesic mixtures on the pharmacy shelf. Two in particular are Excedrin Extra Strength and Excedrin Migraine. Both of these are exactly the same each having the same amount of the same ingredients as the other. One is simply the other packaged to imply that it is a special mixture for migraines when it's no different than the other. It's a reasonable marketing ploy that sells more of their products to migraine sufferers than other similar products that don't specifically advertise their product as a migraine specific product. It's not really advertising to the unconscious mind but it does work in much the same way.
Another Wiki victim. You should double check the info you find on Wiki with other sources.
From Snopes:
FWIW, Snopes is not necessarily trustworthy either but this does contradict Wiki. One should be able to deduce from this that one or both sources are WRONG.
The forums here could be a good test for that probability. According to the forum index there are 26,163 threads or discussions at the forums here. In how many of those threads did Godwin's Law prove true? How many of the threads that are longer than this one have not had such a comparison?
