! Moderator Note We can do without racism, and there are wrong ways of calling it out, as we see here.
-
Because the additional money tends to be spent on things. That can happen, too.
-
! Moderator Note If you don’t cite your sources, then you are not offering up anything better. You also are presenting this from a perspective that you know what other people understand. This is not an acceptable approach.
-
! Moderator Note I hope this isn’t going to be another thread where you make assertions without providing the properly-cited source of your alleged information. Because that will not fly.

The data are embargoed for a period of time, so the researchers can do analysis and publish papers. “After the assigned exclusive access periods, JWST data shall be made available to the general scientific community and the public.” https://jwst-docs.stsci.edu/jwst-opportunities-and-policies/jwst-general-science-policies/nasa-smd-policies-and-guidelines-for-the-operations-of-jwst-at-stsci/policy-2-data-rights-and-data-dissemination

It’s present for as long as there is an action force.

Actual maglev demo. No Bond villains were harmed in making the video.

The linked description of the probe says so. It’s the “express purpose” of the probe . “A Bracewell probe is a hypothetical concept for an autonomous interstellar space probe dispatched for the express purpose of communication with one or more alien civilizations.”
-
! Moderator Note It’s deja vu all over again
-
The link provided in the OP says it’s for communication. If moontanman wants a different scenario, they should specify it. But they’ve reached us, right? They are sightings on earth. And not successfully communicated with us. I’m not seeing any wiggle room here.
-
Then how are they UAP/ UFO phenomena, as specified in the OP?
-
A reminder that the “report post” function should be used for suspected rules violations. ”sounds like a bot” is not a rules violation.
-
So these would be unsuccessful Bracewell probes, seeing as they have not succeeded in communicating with us?

! Moderator Note From rule 2.7: members should be able to participate in the discussion without clicking any links or watching any videos. Videos and pictures should be accompanied by enough text to set the tone for the discussion IOW, you need to post the material to be discussed, not a video

! Moderator Note 1. Whether you understand something or not has no bearing on its veracity. 2. Your description of what you think the sequence of events bears little resemblance to what the science says. 3. Discussion of supernatural anything or the intelligent design dogma has no place in this discussion

There could be a financial advantage, as the solar should eventually pay for itself. There is also the benefit of having battery backup in the case of downed transmission lines or a blown transformer.
-
No, you can’t. Yes. And what I’m asking for is evidence that the producer’s net costs are increasing, which multiple people are claiming. The argument that one cost goes up therefore the product must cost more is too simplistic.

Then it should be no trouble to find the inflation data. Gosh, If only I had quoted the parts about California and New York. And if only the article’s context was clear. Data about the US may not carry over to another country with different details of their economic approach. Do other countries have the same kind of minimum wage structure as the US? (a wage that wouldn’t let you rent an apartment unless you work multiple jobs) https://www.cnbc.com/2023/02/09/what-it-takes-to-afford-rent-on-minimum-wage.html#:~:text=Rent is typically cheaper in,2.5 salaries to make rent. (And the presence or absence of social assistance programs play a role here, too) And I would have no contribution in a thread about UK economics, which was active not to long ago. Or in much of chemistry, biology and advanced math. But more than 4% of people posting here, which would seem to be the more relevant number. Yes. As was discussed earlier, this assumes there is an additional net cost. What is the cost of employee turnover? What is the lost efficiency of a worker who is sleep-deprived from working another job?
-
They do surveys. We weren’t discussing North Korea. I didn’t make claims about the entire world. The context was the US. Is this just a distraction from the fact that you made a claim about inflation, but have not presented any data to back it up?
-
So-called AI tries to come up with plausible-sounding responses based on language patterns. i.e. it generates fiction. There should be no expectation that it will give a correct answer to any factual inquiry
-
Sensei made the claim, so they can back it up.

Not in the US. Unemployment means actively looking for work, available to work, but not working. https://www.bls.gov/cps/definitions.htm#:~:text=Population) x 100.-,Unemployed,week%2C except for temporary illness.

One might consider that instead of moving on from a job that underpays them, they stay. Then you don’t have to spend time hiring a new employee and training them. A cycle which repeats itself. Not wasting these efforts results in higher productivity. Do you have any inflation data to share to support scenario #2? Not really an issue for service industry jobs, like fast food workers. Products that compete in the worldwide market are probably not made by “unskilled” labor being paid minimum-wage
