As far as I know, and I'm no expert, lycopene cyclase is produced in the endosperm of wild-type rice and was only thought to be needed until further research revealed it was unnecessary, since it was already being produced. -

Hi, everyone. I'm CyanideScience (a reference to the book, A Mad Man Dreams of Turing Machines). I'm heavily interested in pretty much any area of biology (molecular biology, mircobiology...), physics (specifically quantum mechanics, but other areas, too), and genetics.
