Electric field lines are not physical, they are convenient book keeping representations of the field and are often used to supplement drawings of equipotential surfaces.

  6. I see your logic, it's a good idea but unfortunately incorrect. Any two gasses or any collection of n-gases will always be miscible and will always mix spontaneously. For an ideal gas the enthalpy of mixing is zero and for real gases it is negligible. The mixing is always spontaneous though as the entropic contribution is positive. You can show this by looking at the number of available microstates before and after mixing, as long as there is a boltzmann distribution IIRC, but really it makes sense intuitively and can be deduced by inspection. Excellent question.

  8. The ideal gas law gives a situation where a mixture of gases (not a gaseous compound, is this what you meant?) will behave like a single gas. This is really an outcome of the rather drastic assumptions in the ideal gas law though rather than a valid theoretical insight. In a real gas, dipole moments and Van der Waals interactions will play a role and chemically non-identical gases will have different behavior accordingly. There are a number of ways that you can treat this mathematically, all the practical ones involve empirical parameters that are compound specific. The Van der Waals equation is a great demonstrative example but is not useful without the rather "fudgey" Maxwell correction. See the "virial equation of state" to learn how all these gas laws apply under certain scenarios. You'll learn that all the other gas equations are just approximations that are applicable in some limit (like for example low pressure).

The reason chemicals react at all is to form a new chemical species that is more stable than either reactant separately. The best way to look at what's going on is to examine the atomic and molecular orbitals as they are what really makes and breaks bonds. So lets take a simple (perhaps the most simple) example. Two hydrogen atoms both have one electron each, in the ground state this is called a 1s orbital. When those two hydrogens come together their 1s orbitals come together and mix to make a [imath] 1s-1s, \sigma , \ a_{1} \ [/imath]molecular orbital. This molecular orbital is lower in energy than either of the hydrogen 1s atomic orbitals so nature thermodynamically favors the forming of this bond.

  18. That chemistry is impossible. If it was possible, the thermodynamics are going the wrong direction, meaning you're doing work or putting energy in the system for no energy benefit. That process would be highly thermodynamically disfavored.
  19. Imagine if someone like Einstein would've had even a few hundred years to continue pondering GR or related topics in physics. I speculate that a lifespan that long might make "geniuses" exponentially more fruitful in the new knowledge they create over their career.

  21. You do mean DNA intercalation right? I assume so because the compound you have posted is similar to a class of DNA intercalcting poly-pyridyl Ruthenium(II) complexes I'm familiar with. Well off hand I would say that anything with a quinone, two pyridinyl groups and a phenazine is going to have a lot of [imath] \pi-\pi [/imath] stacking interactions with any purines or pyrimidines. I'm not sure of the structure of "qdppz" (do you have a structure or IUPAC name?) but from how you describe it there should be available hydrogen bond acceptors as well.
  22. How much energy? About 756431 ballon frog rainbows? Your statements are no less ridiculous than that when the units don't balance. Even elementary school teachers require students to write the correct units. Also, you should go into politics as you are a professional question dodger. Not an insult, but a demonstrable fact.
