i think there's a set size for muscles in people. if you drop below that set size, it's extremely easy to get back up, but it's hard to get above that. also, motivation plays a HUGE role in how fast you gain muscle. sounds like you were working hard throughout those 4 days, even when your muscles were tired. sounds like you were working at about the level you would have 8 years ago. that's a very good way to gain muscle (would have been better if you breaked for a day inbetween though).

there's supposed to be six: lever, inclined plane, pully, wheel and axel, wedge, and screw. pully, wheel and axil, and lever can all be classified as types of levers wedge, screw, and inclined plane can all be classified as types of inclined planes.

here is a bunch of hybrids. <edit> i don't know for sure, but i thought mules were actually quite commonly fertile, for hybrids. i thought that about 1 in 30 were fertile.

not for me : P, the only way for me to get a 5.0 at highschool would be if i retook the same 7 AP/Honors classes every year, and colleges wouldn't like that. so no matter what, i am behind you in the top students list *sigh* (hypothetical, i actually have around a 3.6)

ah, okay, that makes sense. thx

that's my theory, that we have fate and a predetermined future, and there is nothing we can do to change it (not to be confused with an absence of free will).

i don't know what that means, can you explain? i assume m is mass. :alpha: could be acceleration. i have no idea what :rho: could be though. is this m X :alpha: X :rho: = strength of gravity?
-
gravity isn't related to density, only mass and distance. but, increased relative mass might affect gravity (i don't know). so this could still work.

but still, how many of you read the link? it didn't say that heads came up most, that's actually quite off topic. it said that a coin toss is not random, but that with a very powerful computer that has every known variable that can impact a certain coin toss will predict with 100% cetainty the result of the coin toss. the link (if you make logical connections) just basically says that chaos theory exists, and fate exists on a large (non-quantum) scale. then it goes on to say that humans are biased in that they subconsciously catch the coin so that it lands on the same side it started on. (and heads is most commonly on top at the start) P.S. the difference in weight and aerodynamic properties between the 2 sides is so insignificant that it will only change 50:50 to 48:52, or something like that

and swords. actually, i want to adress swords. they were also designed to kill, and have no other purpose besides the same purposes guns have. why aren't we afraid of swords? why haven't swords been banned? (today, not early japan or anything...) my answer: we used to understand swords, so over time we have become ignorant of them, and they have become as common as any object that can kill without such intent. swords are NOT some random object, and they are NOT very defferent than guns. in today's time, you don't need any more skill than you do with a gun to use a sword to kill someone (especially a katana or something), yet no one cares. also, not having the right to own something doesn't make that thing impossible to own. often, said thing can be smuggled in relatively easily (with skill). this would make ME a lot more frightened, because then the enemy would fave a gun and i wouldn't. P.S. on a highly related note, des anyone know how many people are killed in the U.S. each year from a knife designed for killing? P.P.S. i did not mean to imply that we understand swords in today's time. i'd bet all of the money my family has that if i took a claymore to a public place and just started hacking away, at least a million people would sign a petition to ban swords (thus causing the same predicament we have with guns). P.P.P.S. if i had a tear gas bomb and used it in a mall, i wonder how many people would want to ban tear gas... probably a lot. (i also wonder about liquid stun guns...) ... they banned everything pointy from airplanes, and amusement parks and things... i wonder what would happen if i were to go up in an airplane and hijack it with my bare hands. i'm guessing people would want to ban video games <edit> on a similar but opposite note, you can't solve a problem by shoving it under a rug.

that might explain most of the ESP that goes into predicting a coin flip...

sorry, i meant the good kind of sex ed, not the kind that say "umm... sex is bayd, m'kay?". i actually was never given sex ed. i was sorta referring to biology, i should have said that instead. biology teaches us about WHY we (and other organisms) mate. from what it sounds like, sex ed teaches knowlege and ignorance, but not understanding... the perfect formula for fear and misuse. well... what i was trying to says is that we need to be educated about the who, what, where, when , why, and how of guns. once people understand them, instead of thinking of guns as sticks that make things go boom, and instead of always being taught that guns are the tools of the devil and will kill everyone that touchs them, they should't have as much reason to be afraid of them. it would have to be a gradual process, because the parents will still be afraid and pass that fear on to their kids, but if guns are understood as much as sex is understood in biology, i doubt many people would be afraid. also, even if you completely ignore me ever mentioning sex ed, my point and argument remains the same. P.S. on second thought, just teach everyone martial arts and change the dominant religion to buddhism (the way i say this so often you'd think i'd be kidding, but i'm not... sort of). <edit> oh, and about what we would educate people on about guns: whatever education YT got to be able to use guns without fear (except for the safety kind of fear, that's good) basically how to use them properly, how to misuse them, why they shouldn't be misused, and why and how people often misuse them. (i assume police are getting the right kind of education on this, or at least better than the general public)

precicely what i have been saying step 1) stop fear do this by educating everyone (just like sex ed. [which also needs to be made better]) step 2) that's it... you are done. nothing left. it's REALLY simple. or we could take that alternative route: step 1) better police force this will cause MORE fear, and will only cut down on gun deaths by a little bit. step 2) outlaw guns this will cause even more fear because the average citizen won't have acess to easy defense, while any criminals can just smuggle some guns in, probably pretty easily too. step 3) repeat steps 1 and 2 until people stop wanting guns yeah... like that would ever happen :haha: look at ANYTHING (fists, pencils, cars, drugs, sex, guns, tea cups, discrimination, electricity, new theories, new inventions, any concievable weapon, pets, jobs, friends, literally anything) and tell me that it can't be misused. how do we keep ourselves from misusing them all? EDUCATION ignorance is bliss (banning guns), knowlege is hell (see: U.S.), understanding is heaven (EDUCATION [on proper use and what misuse is, must not teach us how to be ignorant or misunderstanding]) P.S. hey, if you want to go for ignorance, here are the rules: all tools must be perfect shperes, and can't have any effect whatsoever on anything within a 10 foot radius of any life form. all muscles (not including the brain) must atrophy to the point that they cannot be used (at all). and all lifeforms must stay at least 10 feet away from eachother. and no violent thoughts (ever). you know what? just cause the universe to collapse and die, then nothing could ever hurt you. i don't know about you, but i'd even prefer knowlege without understanding to that existance

but a billion trillion is a LOT of whatever, while bajillion is like: WHOA! that's a LOT!!... i think. so... considering RNA (and DNA) is basically quatrinary, with 3 bit long bytes, i vote for quatrinary (but then you can only count to 11 on one hand, much lower that 31 )

those darn brits screwed everything up... but then the americans screwed it up worse... I VOTE METRIC!! (stupid english )

get everyone in america to stop thinking: "umm... guns are bayd, m'kay?" once we acomplish this, the fear will stop. this will stop the fear of learning how to use them, which will stop the improper use, and will enhance self defense and proper use. there is an easy way to do this, stop thinking it yourself, and stop teaching it to others. P.S. the same goes for drugs, other weapons, breaking laws, and discrimination. America doesn't really teach their citizens anything, it only teaches them how to fear things... BAD AMERICA! <edit> evidence: the many people that actually train themselves on how to use guns (or drugs, or everything else for that matter) are the ones that use them least and only when they know they absolutely have to.

Psychology in the national curriculum for schools
iglak replied to Cyrus's topic in Psychiatry and Psychology
the people in charge of that sort of thing never took it. P.S. i hope that's not the real answer, even though it seems the most likely one... -
but it's trapped by the sun, not earth. it's in symbiosis with Earth, but it's orbiting the sun, making it an asteroid, not a moon.

well... i tried to self teach myself meditation. i can attain that state quite easily. 1) start meditating (i have no idea if i am actually meditating... but it works) 2) focus on passing a surge of electricity slowly through your brain. pass that surge slowly through your nerves. (this is how i started, but i have no idea if it works for everyone or if this is evan a good way to do it) there's really not much to it, just meditate and focus on your brain.
