  1. IIRC alcohol is also a problem for 2 cycle engines that require the oil mixed with the gas. it wants to make the oil separate to the botom of the tank. this is from memory, i could be wrong on that. the govt just forced this new law where all gas has 10% alcihol wheather we like it or not. there must be some thing for instance like desicant or activated charcoal that has an afinnity for alcohol and not gas. this is just speculation for an example. simple and cheap. these other chemicals would be hard to get and probly regulated. ther has to be something. thanks jbu
  2. alcohol is very corosive to aluminum. for my homebuilt airplane that has aluminum tanks. i have fueled my plane at -30 and the car gas would plug the screen in the pouring spout with ice crystals. i'm leary of useing water to separate the alcohol. some small engines with aluminum tanks and carbs will fail with alcohol in the gas. jbu
  3. does any one know how to easly and cheaply remove the alcohol that they add to gasoline. i repeat, easly and cheaply. thanks jbu
  4. i wonder if freezing it would separate the water. i make my concetrated wine that way. water freezes and alcohol don't. jbu
  5. alum, is used to convert lead acid car batterys that are dead to alkaline battery. do a google search for batteryconversions group.
  6. this is my 2nd post and a question. u know the hard skin that forms on battery trminals. well i,m trying to dupicate that on cast lead bullets. i have been soaking them in new battery acid and it kinda works, but it's not as hard as the battery terminals. i would likw to speed up the process. maybe heat needed, differant acid?? in my research, some plateing companys use lead lined vats and the lead reacts with the acids and forms a skin and protects itself. i do a lot of target shooting and bullets are expensive, so i cast my own. i have 8 yrs pulp mill maintainance, clorine, caustic, clorates, and i make my own hot blueing salts from caustic soda and potasium nitrate. i hope someone can help me with this. thanks Louis
