Yea, crap, much more a fan of Black metal, techno, jazz, classical and opera. In any case, I can see a clear reason that rap is bad, mainly from the people I go to school with who are deeply impacted by this music. Aside from the constant slur of speech and the fact that whever they have nothing better to say, they repeat some rap lyric they listen to. As you can imagine it gets quite annoying. But besides the annoying aspect, the men are especially effected in that they have no regard for the female sex. To me, it seems to be a direct correlation between rap and disregard for females, putting them down constantly, making them out to be no more than sluts and whores. Absolutely dispicable. However I suppose this is a two way street in that the women put up no resistance, subjecting themselves to the title of sluts. Oh well, I suppose I'm just so fed up with it, I just needed to vent.

Hmm, I really don't understand what you're getting at. It may be that it's still early, but you say you have a program which can predict everything? How does something like that work? And how did you create something like this?

I hope you were being sarcastic with that "Brain Buster" title. Unless you were just trying to confuse us by using ebonics and improper english.

All you digg users have probably already seen this, but it's too funny to not post. This site is selling an at home laser eye surgery kit, advertising it as easy and safe. I found the "4 easy steps" image hillarious. But, once you buy it, would you use it again? Probably not, but it would certainly be fun to point at other things other than your eye.

Yes, It is very very interesting. Hopefully we will be able to see the technology fully implemented within our life time. Hopefully starting with the old and elderly, we may be able to slow or stop the effects of aging on the brain or atleast transfer the damaged functions to computer chips, vision, hearing, memory, etc... Hell, I'd be completely willing to be the first test subject and I'm only 18, it would be very cool to operate electronics by thought and to have wireless communication between people across entire continents. In addition to that, it could act as an input device for your brain so you could really be somewhere if the program is right. Very cool stuff is happening.

Also, I found a free download of the file, just unzip it and you can use all the presets from the website. http://www.markblu.net/assets/downloads/ Just click the brainwave generator button. Then go to the sites to get all the good stuff. Still it depends on the person, so this may or may not work for you.

Update: I actually did some digging on the subject and found, through the help of Digg.com and wikipedia, a website that has a program you can download to induce certain effects such as deep sleep, caffeine, lsd effects, etc... And some pretty weird effects that I cannot wait to try when I get home. Anyways I found out that the process of which I speak is called brainwave synchronization or entrainment. Still, this is pretty interesting. Also, I propose this be moved to the metaphysics section.

Relationship between Planets size, mass, age and gravity?
Illuminati replied to Illuminati's topic in Astronomy and Cosmology
Well, hate to say this, but your answer only raises more questions. What about abnormally shaped objects? i.e. humans? For instance, what is the gravitational pull of a 79 kg human with a height of 1.5574 meters. How would you find the gravitational pull of said individual? -
Relationship between Planets size, mass, age and gravity?

Wow, I love you guys, thankyou so much for the help. -
My only question is how can we expect other countries to discontinue pursuit of nuclear weapons when we (the united states) will almost certainly never disarm our nuclear weapons.

Relationship between Planets size, mass, age and gravity?
Illuminati replied to Illuminati's topic in Astronomy and Cosmology
Interesting, I love these nifty equations. Thankyou for the information. But, could you go one further and give me an example? I seem to comprehend better if an actual example is involved. Also, what is the large G in the equation represent? Any and all help will be appreciated. -
It's a thought I had earlier today and I've done no research on it at all, so if it's wrong, be sure to tell me. But I was reviewing the String Theory and the way many physicists view the way our solar system as sitting on a large bedsheet, the planets are weights in the bedsheet causing pull on other objects. Well I had a thought and recalled some information. There seems to be no real corellation between planet size and gravitational pull. Saturn has the same mass as 95.162 Earths but has a gravitational pull of 8.96 m/s^2 or .914 g's. The thought was that the all these factors came into play to determine the amount of gravity. Size, mass, and age all play a part in how far down the plants pull the bedsheet. Then the idea that if the earths size and mass stay the same, the only thing that changes is age. And although I'm relating the solar system to a bedsheet, would time play a role in increasing our planets gravity? Would the be a day that our gravity could be twice what it is today? Or am I getting worried for no reason.

By the way, and a little off the road. Has anyone seen the movie Pi: Faith in Chaos? It's very very interesting and very good. A little weird and is an independent film, but I'd deffinately recommend everyone watch it. I certainly enjoyed it. Seeing as I cannot stand star powered movies, this was right up my alley so to speak. But definately check it out.

Nope, just very old.

Thankyou, It was certainly an acheivement for my first time in science olympiad.

Well, a last and final post and update in here. I just got back from my regionals event and I did excellently. 4th place in Circuit Lab. 3rd place in Chem Lab. and 2nd place in The Wright Stuff. With 1:03 I beat the 3rd place team by 3 seconds. And let me tell you, having two medals around your neck is a great feeling. Woot! <(^.^<) <(^.^)> (>^.^)>

Stretch your mind - a litle bit of fun
Illuminati replied to mossoi's topic in Brain Teasers and Puzzles
I'd like to add something to this, seeing as it is a percption question (from what I can see). If you were a bacteria living on the ball, that world would appear two dimensional, yet it would still be blue. Therefore, if you were living on the ball, the answer would be that it is more blue than spherical. -
Actually in the end, it's supposed to look like that. However, I have yet to reach it.

You have no idea how much I am enjoying this post. I haven't blinked since I started reading this, that's how much I love it. Seriously, too cool guys. (>^.^)> -
I usually hear myself speaking, but there are special cases. For instance, once I've seen an anime, then I read the manga to accompany it, I hear the voices of the actors in the anime. But other than that, it's usually myself unless I really try to put some effort into the other voices.

A truely interesting game, has a good amount of flow to it. It somewhat reminds me of the first part of the game Spore, the single celled organism part atleast. Once you play the game, you truely loose track of time, so watch it. http://intihuatani.usc.edu/cloud/flowing/

I had an idea just a little while ago about a new type of flying multi-application device that would use a singular propellor and tower assembly. But I wanted to use a singular gyroscope to keep stability and I began to wonder, Could a gyroscope, if turned on an axis, be used to steer a flying device so long as no other forces, except for lift, are acting on it? If so I have idea that I would like to patent.

Ya know Bascule, I admire your opinion on almost everything, you certainly have a great insight into most any realm. Most of the things you post really peak my interest, however, this really isn't one of them. Although you have yourself a valid arguement, I just can't get interested in it. Perhaps it's because of my severe disgust for the fact that he became famous after he died, and my hatered for most celebrities, dead or alive. I don't know, I really have nothing interesting to add. Heh, suppose I just wasted a post. However, it is interesting from a conspiracy theorists point of view. But beyond that, not much. Sorry to be the downer in the flock.

I'm sure most of you know that there are certain types of brain waves; Delta, Theta, Alpha, Beta, and Gamma. Each one in higher Hz rates that the previous, gamma being the highest recorded. These brain waves are often associated with daily functions, being the lower frequency waves are associated with deep sleep while gamma is with almost god-like concentration and higher brain functions. Some actually belive that there is a way to tap into these brain waves with outside influence, i.e. meditation, music, beats, drums, etc... Now, do you believe that certain music could essentially tap into the higher frequency brain patterns? or that they have no effect or is dependent on the person. I have been struggleing with this question, but with me being my only example, it's somewhat hard. I have noticed that when I listen to techno or classical, I have the greatest concentration and am able to understand things faster and to a greater magnitude, something like near gamma. Jazz and metal seem to just have that medium amount of concentration, somewhere near beta. Anything else seems to have a negative effect. Any ideas on this one? I may be completely off, but whatever information I got was from wikipedia.
