  1. "HEY VULCANS! This is my communications officer, Hoshi Sato. She makes a lot of mistakes because she's a woman, and being Asian doesn't help. Ha! I said Asian. I'm so politically correct, even though I am just showing my complete ignorance of geography and national identity. Anyhooo - for some reason I brought my boomer along. He's called Travis and he's a darkie. I like his moxie, helllll yeah. Being his friend AND captain shows how unracialist I am. Oh look, here comes Trip Tucker. He must have parked the shuttle. Funny thing - the only real difference between him and me is our accents, but I have more arguments with him than any of the other officers. That PROVES that we can even get along with the freaky non-whites who we allowed to come with us into space." And so on. It's like they go out of their way to point out blazingly obvious facts like "foreigners can push buttons".
  2. Where does the fairness come in?
  3. The ratings, the plots, the characters, the actors (with the notable exception of Billingsley, who owned them all), the music, the lack of expositionary cohesion, the contrived situations, the squeaky-clean endings, the oh my god we're so multi-cultural ethnobolllocks stereotyping that all American shows seem to do these days, the messing with the timeline before they even started time travelling, the need to try and crow-bar in the popular icons from the other series (Khan, Borg, etc) just to lift up one episode... I could probably go on.
  4. A question so interesting you can't mention it, even though it's the only part of your post that differentiates its point from the point of the post immediately preceding it?
  5. I was saying I can't think of anything that isn't. That's beside the point though, as it only needs to be able to interact. It doesn't actually have to do it constantly.
  6. You do know it was cancelled for a reason, right?

    Homosexual Gene?

I don't really see the connection.
  8. Nooooo... the sarcasm was evident. The point of it wasn't. It isn't really something that deserves an argument. We ought to be celebrating.
  9. Humanity (or anything that is conscious, I suppose).
  10. Apparently not. When is anything that belongs to this universe 'not interacting'?
  11. To yourdad: Yes, unless there's any reason to believe that it has gone somewhere else.
  12. In the sense that it was posted twenty-one hours and ten minutes before yours. I'm sure you must have done.
  13. Possibly, I can't really think of any off the top of my head. The point is that if we can't interact with something in any way, and it can't interact with anything that we do interact with (which includes everything from puppies to gravitational fields in distant galaxies) we don't need to worry about it. Well we won't anyway, since we would not be able to detect it.
  14. I am so far ahead of you.

    Homosexual Gene?

Depends how you look at it I suppose. Discriminatory wasn't a choice of word I was happy with, but I couldn't think of a better one at the time.
  16. Firstly that was not said; what was said was that if it can't interact with the universe (and interact is a broad term in this sense) then it should not be considered a part of it. Secondly, entanglement is a property of the pair. It is not a third entity of its own.
  17. His post is entitled "I have a question about Latin translation". However the phrase is not Latin.
  18. Do you think you could stop rating all your own threads with five stars? It's pointless and annoying.

    Abortion

Anthropomorphisms is the plural of 'an instance of anthropomorphisation'. Noun: Anthropomorphism. Verb: Anthropomorphise. No, it is inherently unscientific.

    Homosexual Gene?

This seems to be a common attitude among males. There must have been some research into it already, because it's a particularly odd kind of discrimination.
  21. It self-evidently does, indirectly. The fact that I am posting that remark on a forum indicates this to be the case.
  22. AOL 9 for Windows is based on the IE engine. I have similar problems with IE 5.5, which they force us to use at work on account of being stuck in the age of steam engines. Try using Mozilla, Firefox or Opera and see if the problem goes away.

    Homosexual Gene?

It's been demonstrated in various animals in the lab, but of course that doesn't necessarily mean it holds true for all species.
