  1. When people say things like " find it interesting that Christians are the most outspoken against gay marriage", I automatically take it to mean "of the people against gay marriage, it is the Christians who are the most out-spoken". This is a little off-topic, but why are people so eager to stick themselves in boxes such as "republic", "democrat" and so on? Personally I think that approach opens the door to people who would rather oppose issues with labels. (I'll split this off if it gets interesting - now split off to here)
  2. So you have not responded to my queries about Martian ecobiology (on which you are a self-confessed expert), the science teams at NASA are "nuts" in your esteemed opinion, and the ability to purchase a pair of plastic spectacles gives people more credibility. What's wrong with this picture?
  3. Right click on the tool task bar, go to properties, go to the "customize" button at the bottom-right of the Taskbar panel.
  4. Do you mean the system tray or the processes list?
  5. Screw you George, you damned hippy ...says Senate.
  6. What sort of audience is it aimed at?
  7. SG1 started as quite a generic series, but turned into a very good arc-based show. If you haven't seen seasons 5-7, you haven't seen SG1.
  8. It's not a very good secret if everyone knows about it. Your supposition that people creeped around behind their wives' backs is just that: supposition. The openness of gaydom in Roman society is well-recorded; you're just imprinting your own reasoning on a different culture. Yeah, the term homophobia is technically misused in every day speech.
  9. Why your book? Come on, really sell it to us.
  10. Cheers What I find hilarious (but also craptastic) is that I have one (count it, one) stylesheet that works for every browser and non-screen device known to humanity EXCEPT for Internet Explorer, which has to have TWO extra style sheets and some js to make it look non-shit. So as revenge the site displays an IE-only message on the front page... heh heh heh. [/offtopic]
  11. I played too. [edit] wait a sec; work's no excuse for maths?
  12. This might do the trick: http://www.scienceforums.net/forums/showthread.php?t=4415
  13. I think all types of daisy do that, iirc... But as Richard Griffiths says, flowers are essentially tarts. What we want is a crazy twisto-plant.
  14. I wouldn't put it past Moz to make a nightly build with a minor version number of pi.
  15. 8/10 Brave is one of my more insightful students, but he would do better if he paid attention in class instead of prescribing his own syllabus. -- Mrs Fatbottom
  16. You know you can buy solar battery chargers now? http://ecoclub.com/shop/view_product.php?productid=17&idcat=8&idsubcat=0 Stick both fingers up at consumer wastefulness at the same time!
  17. Unless that came from the nightly builds CVS (which means it's not a stable release), it doesn't exist.
  18. I doubt the effects would be that extreme, considering that if I look out of the window right now at the plants they aren't all pointing towards the sun's path across the sky. I haven't really looked into it before but it seems that even ambient light must be enough to break down auxin . You might get a similar effect though just by tilting the plant to wacky angles.
