Because when you go out and buy a gun you know perfectly well you are paying for a device which is specifically designed to kill quickly and effectively. Even a crackdown on illegal firearms and more stringent registration preocedures wouldn't necessarily stop a lot of gun crime, but as we discussed a few pages ago it would make investigation of those crimes a bit easier. Now someone can just invoke Godwin's Law and end the discussion. Nice one.

Well, maybe not in YOUR crazy country If you want to take a look at a recent example of a country that dropped the death penalty, use Australia: afaik they had capital punishment until the mid-1980s. That might give a new point of view on it all.

Either you mean the former point, in which case you are truly blessed in that you can cause misunderstandings through your own negligence and not feel responsible in any way; or you refer to the latter point, in which case you have a lot to learn about the world. Either way you aren't giving me any reason to think well of you, so don't expect me to start fawning like an undergraduate who thinks the psychology discipline is the end of all things.

Hmmmm. In order to show that any 1 solar cooker is better than the others, you need (at bare minimum) to have everyone using the same kind of sausages. They need to be cooked for the same period in sunlight of the same intensity and the one that is most 'ready' wins, or cooked until 'ready' and the one with the shortest time wins. Which of course means you need a standard way of testing if it's 'ready'. If you eat it and don't die, it was probably cooked.

I'd hardly say that those facts logically or necessarily follow the quote in any case.
