  1. Certain US govt agency making financial overtures in general direction of Saddam's officers. Shhhh.
  2. Geocities don't allow direct links to non-source files Pogo. [edit] However, since I'm hosting them for you now that doesn't matter
  3. Thansk to sibray images we cna now see pictures of venus in bright coulous and we know these facts which are teh truth and prove that physics is wrong and that this is right and physics is wrong THE ANCIENT VENUS, BEING 7 TIMES THE DIAMETER OF VENUS TODAY, WAS APPROX 54,000 MILES IN DIAMETER. THE ONLY PLAUSIBLE EXPLANATION WE CAN GIVE AT THIS TIME FOR THE TREMENDOUS SIZE OF THE ORIGINAL VENUS BILLIONS OF YEARS AGO IS THAT: VENUS AT THAT TIME CONSISTED ENTIRELY OF INVISIBLE MATTER; INVISIBLE MATTER BEING FAR LESS DENSE THAN VISIBLE MATTER HAS FAR GREATER VOLUME THAN VISIBLE MATTER OF THE SAME MASS; WHEN THE SIBS CONVERTED VENUS FROM INVISIBLE MATTER TO VISIBLE MATTER, IT RETAINED ITS MASS BUT THERE WAS IN EFFECT A COLLAPSE OF ITS VOLUME TO THE APPROXIMATE SIZE WE KNOW IT TO BE TODAY PLUS THE GROWTH RINGS WHICH HAVE BEEN SUBSEQUENTLY ADDED. PROOOF
  4. Sounds cool - seeing effect before cause. Google for it, see what you come up with.
  5. That particular resolution to the question of his authority is growing more likely by the day.
  6. I was hoping we could keep this going for a while Can we all delete the posts where we acknowledge it's not real?
  7. Wtf are you talking about, 'haters'? Haters of what? All anybody has done in this thread is discuss whether or not America is right in attacking Iraq, which sort of spilled into a wider discussion of the US foreign policy. All the antagonism seems to be coming from you. And don't tell me that image is a photo. I use photoshop extensively, I know what I'm looking at.
  8. No problem. I wish he'd try coming up with a decent argument instead of just being offensive, I mean it is kind of the point of having a discussion forum Will remind faf about permissions in this forum incely...
  9. For the time travel question: There are a couple of reasons you haven't been visited by your future self. One is that it's highly unlikely that easy and accessible travel to the past will be available within your lifetime. Another is that if it were, you'd expect the designers to warn travellers that meeting themselves in the past is not a good idea. Lastly, if you ditched that advice and met yourself, the resolution of any paradoxes you created would probably erase you from the native timeline and nobody else would ever know you had existed. Try to get over the 'paradox argument'. There's no such thing as an actual paradox - it's just a concept that humans come up with to explain why they can't apply linear logic to a non-linear situation, which is obviously very short sighted. I'm not sure film makers do intend to portray AI as frightening. Most of the time the message in the film is "look at what our ambition and lack of foresight did to us - now that's scary". In AI for instance, the robots basically represent the black slaves of colonial Britain and America. They have no rights, they aren't considered alive, they are merely property to the people who can afford to keep them. In Terminator, the AI in question is a single machine, which makes the entirely logical decision that there isn't enough room on the planet for it and humanity. The only reason that it was able to act on that is because it was tied into the planetary defence and communications systems. Note: SkyNet launched its offensive in self defence. In The Matrix, the machines are faced with extinction after the sun is blocked out. So are we. They simply acted more quickly in finding an alternative energy source - and that's just ecology, which is hardly scary. Which is worse...? Living a meagre existence on the surface of the planet after burning the skies, or living in an artificial reality that mimics the world while at the same time allowing the AI to continue to exist? (See Matrix Plot thread for more in-depth discussion of this). Note: The Machines launched their offensive in self defence.
  10. No, the question is. I thought I made that clear. Just rephrase it then I can apply this effort to answering instead
  11. Worst bit of photoshopping I've seen for a while. The inclusion of a cross is simply offensive, and really doesn't help shed America in a good light right at the moment.
  12. Now Alan is gone I think it's safe to open this thread again to allow the fun to recommence.
  13. Why do people who sail around the world succeed? How do explain the curvature of the horizon? How would you go about arguing against images of the planet from space?
  14. I show preference to white magnums over dark magnums. Does that make me a bad person? Does it make me a cromagnum?
  15. I thought he was talking about ice creams.
  16. LOL. It'll just mean he has to work faster.
  17. It's baffling that you can have the definitions right there in front of you and yet still ask a nonsensical question.

    Thoughts?

    I liked the dancers.
  19. You could have just said "No, we'd cecede from the treaty first like North Korea did :p".
  20. So if you wanted to act in contravention of the Non-Proliferation Treaty, you would? Or as an extreme example, if the administration decided to execute suspicious refugees on arrival, that would be 'OK'? I don't think so. The world wouldn't stand for it and neither would the US people.
  21. I don't think you have the faintest idea what my stance on terrorism is. You're the sort of person who would have called people a pinko commie if they objected to the witch-hunts during the cold war, because you don't have a cogent counter-argument. If America can do what it wants I'd like to hear your explanation as to why it is not defying the UN veto of its planned invasion.
