  1. Using the WHOIS tool on internic's website. You can use it to check the DNS entries for a domain.
  2. I know ginkgo biloba contains a compond that dilates blood vessels, but I'm not sure what it is.
  3. I think you misunderstand. I am well aware of how careful language and statistics can be used to sell a half truth or even an outright lie. but that's not propaganda - that's marketing. What interests me here is the fact that somebody is deciding what gets reported to the US public, and what doesn't.
  4. This is exactly what I'm talking about. If someone doesn't seem to like your theory, you can't simply dismiss that. As far as I am concerned, if you bothered to check my posts before you drooled that reply into the keyboard you would have seen that I have not once passed judgment of any kind on your ideas. If this theory were anything but trivial it would not be lurking in the darkest depths of the web. Are you truly arrogant enough to believe that of all the incredible intelligence this species has fostered, in this generation and those that have gone before, you are the most qualified to understand the basics of physics? No, I don't think you do. There is a troll out there, and its name is Alan. Quite frankly I've had enough of it. There will be no more ego pampering in this thread.
  5. Is that the same as Iraq not appearing to have any WOMDs? Because if it is I'm going to need the address of the FO and a large invasion force, quickly.
  6. Alan, I think you might be obsessing a little over this whole "physics is the way I say it is" thing. Maybe you should post in some other threads too, or go get some fresh air or something. You don't want to end up a bitter crackpot like Adam or Zarkov. THERE'S STILL TIME!
  7. The foreign office saying "these people we want the nation to resent may have two crude nuclear warheads" is another way of saying "don't object to our policies or you'll all die". Which in turn is another way of saying "if the wind changes you'll stay like that."
  8. I've been keeping an eye on CNN.com this week, and I have to say you guys aren't getting half the coverage that the UK is getting on Iraq type issues. That strikes me as being a little... odd. You did have a fantastic front-page world news article on Tuesday though that regailed the world with news of N. Korea's new killer missile of doom and completely failed to mention that they don't actually have a warhead for it yet. Is this propaganda, or bad journalism? Discuss.
  9. ...slowly but surely. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/asia-pacific/2757923.stm
  10. Wheres the "actually deal with the issue and do something about all that crap we've left in orbit of everybody's planet" option?
  11. Then there's a good chance that they'll chase after you screaming and axe you in the back.
  12. No you won't. You'll be asking them to demonstrate that their training was effective, that they can use the supplied tools competently, and to justify their pay.
  13. Now that does happen all the time
  14. Vulnerabilities in the clients get exploited all the time, but nothing this funny has happened for ages
  15. The dead ones won't, or the ones who lose their homes or families or property. I think that might be the issue they have. After all, if you kick a child molester you're pretty certain you're going to hit him. If you carpet bomb a country you can be sure to pick off the odd bystander.
  16. That's mostly true, but you'd have a hard job trying to convince the Iraqi people that they can make it without Saddam. The culture in Iraq is entirely different from yours. And don't forget that if the US hadn't helped put the H-man in power in the first place, none of this would be happening. I'd be interested to know which countries the US has 'rebuilt' too.
  17. You obviously know sod all about the varying social climates, public attitudes and propaganda machines in the Middle East then.
  18. C:\>ping http://www.icq.com Unknown host http://www.icq.com Ho ho ho. AOL is proving more resilient but their responses are done to nearl 500 ms. The culprits: (verified by changes to DNS entries 20 minutes ago) http://rulog.com/cgi-bin/ikonboard.cgi?;act=ST;f=1;t=158 DNS now: Name Server: DNS-01.ICQ.NET Name Server: DNS-02.ICQ.NET Status: REGISTRAR-LOCK Name Server: DNS-02.NS.AOL.COM Name Server: DNS-01.NS.AOL.COM Name Server: DNS-06.NS.AOL.COM Name Server: DNS-07.NS.AOL.COM Status: REGISTRAR-LOCK DNS then: AOL.COM.IS.N0T.AS.1337.AS.GULLI.COM AOL.COM.CANT.STOP.US.IFUD.COM AOL.COM ICQ.COM.IS.INSECURE.VISIT.US.FOR.PROVE.IFUD.COM ICQ.COM
  19. ICQ and AOL have had their DNS servers hacked - ICQ.com is down and the timer on AOL is about to hit zero. Cerulean have released a patch for Trillian but I recommend disconnecting from all ICQ, AOL or AIM services for the timebeing.
  20. Except of course that the design of the experiment has two howling mistakes in it, so I've been told.
  21. It was a slow day. That's too easy
  22. Try implementing that with an HR department.
