  1. The other "standard" solution is to run NetMeeting in Remote Desktop Sharing "host mode" on the Windows 2000 machine and connect from other machines via NetMeeting rather than the Remote Desktop Sharing RDP client. This is a very different "Remote Desktop Sharing" technology from the one you know about from Windows XP. Not perfect, but it doesn't require any third-party software and it works just fine on a LAN. Terminal Services is the underpinning of XP-style Remote Desktop Sharing, but it is not a feature of Windows 2000 Pro (only Windows 2000 Server products). Windows 2000 Pro includes NetMeeting as part of its standard installation (as does Windows XP). This was cited at: http://www.tek-tips.com/gpviewthread.cfm/qid/643044/pid/595/lev2/5/lev3/62
  2. Yep Blike has it there.
  3. Just think deodorant, Most aerosol cans contain 10-15% propellant by weight., the only real hazards are if punctured, contents may be released so forcefully, that injuries could result. Extreme temperatures may cause cans to rupture, resulting in a release of the contents with potential to harm the air, water or land. Not to mention moisture may cause them to rust.
  4. I think the idea is that when E >> p the general formula for the energyof a particle with mass m and momentum p. E = (m^2 + p^2)^(1/2) can be approximated by keeping just the first two terms in the expansion E = p + m^2/2p + ... If you kept only the leading term in the expansion you would have E = p, which corresponds to a particle that travels at the speed of light.

  6. Pearl Question Revised: I will now address the error of calculation(s), which I noticed: The Question: “33 pearls, the middle pearl is the largest and most expensive of all. Starting from one end, each pearl is worth $100 more than the one before, up to the middle. From the other end, each pearl is worth $150 more than the one before, up to the middle. The string of pearls is worth $65,000. What is the value of the middle pearl?” This is not an easy question, so I will take it slowly: There are exactly 16 pearls to either side of the pearl in the center. The end where each pearl is worth $100 more than the previous one the left side, and the end where each pearl is worth $150 more than the previous one the right side. (That's just so it's easier for me to write about them.) So I've cut the necklace into 3 parts: the left side, the middle pearl, and the right side. Each of the two sides has 16 pearls. And the middle is One Pearl, the most expensive. Say that the left side has value L, the middle pearl has value M, and the right side has value R. Then we know that L + M + R = $65000. L: We know that the pearl in the left side closest to the middle has value M-100. And the next one has value M-200, on to the last pearl that has value M-1600 (the easy way to imagine this is to draw a picture of the whole necklace). So we have: L = (M-100) + (M-200) + (M-300) + ... + (M-1600). Collect terms here to get the M's separate: L = 16M - (100+200+300+...+1600) L = 16M - 100(1+2+3+...+16). What’s 1+2+...+16? 1+2+3+...+16 is the 16th triangle number. The general form for the nth triangle number is 1/2 * (n) * (n+1). Group the sum instead as 1+16 + 2+15 + 3+14 + 4+13 +….. Each of these number conformations, will have a sum equal to 17, (the general sum is n+1), and there will be exactly 8 of them (in the general case, n/2). So the sum will be (n+1) * n/2, which is another way of stating that formula I just gave you. So: L = 16M - 100(1+2+...+16) L = 16M - 100(17)(16/2) L = 16M - 100*136 L = 16M - 13600. R: The pearls of R are worth M-150, M-300, and so on, all the way down to M - 16*150, which is M-2400. So the total value of the right side is: R = (M-150) + (M-300) + ... + (M-2400) R = 16M - (150+300+...+2400) R = 16M - 150(1+2+...+16) R = 16M - 150*136 R = 16M - 20400 . We now need to apply the values for L and R into our most expensive necklace finding (MENFE) equation for the value of the necklace: L+M+R = 65000 16M - 13600 + M + 16M - 20400 = 65000 33M - 34000 = 65000 33M = 99000 M = 3000 (9000/33). So the most expensive middle pearl is $3000. NOW IN TERMS OF X FORMAT: x = (x-100) (x-150) <-- 2x – 250 | | (x-200) (x-300) <-- 2x – 500 | | (x-300) (x-450) <-- 2x – 750 | | (x-400) (x-600) <-- 2x - 1000 | | | | | | | | (x-100n) (x-150n) <-- 2x - 250n Add them all together and for the 2n + 1 pearls you get Total value = x + n(2x) –250[1 + 2 + ... + n] = (2n+1)x - 250[n(n+1)/2] We have 33 pearls, so n=16; and the total value is $65,000. $65,000 = (2*16 + 1)x - 250[16(17)/2] = 33x - $34,000 $65,000 + $34,000 = $99,000 $99,000 / 33 = $3000. The above area Vending is where you had the calculation error, you forgot to add the $65,000, to the $34,000. This gives you a value of x of $3000. Same as the above, and my previous equation. 7. E = sqrt( p^2c^2 + m^2c^4) E=f(m, p)) SR:- E = sqrt( p^2c^2 + m^2c^4) if E=mc^2 (m > 0 & p = 0) and E=pc (m = 0 & p > 0). Let E = f(m, p), where f(m,p) =mc^2 (m > 0 & p = 0) =pc (m = 0 & p > 0) = '?' ( m > 0 & p > 0) E=G^2=c^2 m = sqrt(c'/c)*m dimension of mc2 is [ M ][ L ]2/[ T ]2 These are preliminary answers I have worked, but I will have to study for a bit longer to contribute L^T.
  8. Diene: The simplest diene is 1,3-butadiene, another is 2-methylbuta-1, 3-diene they contain two double bonds, and the general formula is Cn H2n – 2. Triene: 2-Methylbicyclo[3.2.0]-hepta-1,4,6-triene, they contain three double bonds, and the general formula is Cn H2n –3. Alkadiyne(s): Have two triple bonds, 5-methyl-1-hexyne CH3CH(CH3)CH2CH2C=-CH, cant remember the gf. Triynes: Have three triple bonds, 5,8,11-eicosatriynoic acid (ETI, 20:3 n5). Carbon and silicon can theoretically form quadruple bonds. My brain isnt working yet, ive named them and helped out on some just google search with the names and you should get what you need.
  9. What was the question?, if unsure which variable do you want me to relate to??
  10. Short wavelength photons ionize and dissociate molecules in the atmosphere. So short wavelength photons are absorbed, and their energy is converted to kinetic energy. Thus temperatures are high in the upper levels of the atmosphere.
  11. I watched it a while ago and thought it was very good. (am i thinking of the same thing a big gold space ship????)
  12. At 100oc water boils and evaporates into the air, at 100oc all the bonds are broken which link the molecules in water (l), however even below 100oc some evaporation from water surfaces occurs, with water molecules “breaking” free and escaping into the air. These water molecules that have “broken” away are named as water vapour. Water vapour enters the atmosphere by evaporation of water, i.e. lakes and rivers, water may also enter the atmosphere by transpiration from plants and trees, that’s why water vapour occurs below 100oc.
  13. Ok the answer to his/her, question, Mr. Vending, reactions of different chemicals will always result in exo or endothermic process’s, however there are thermoneutral reactions where the transition state structure is roughly ½ way along the reaction coordinate and will equally resemble the structure of the reactants and products, and have either small (fast) or large (slow) barriers, but you should consider stating that all reactions (of different reactants) require energy or “give out” energy during their reactant process, by means of theorizing ideological thermoneutral reactions, below undergraduate education would not be plausible. P.S. I like that “Christmas effect” on the home page…
  14. Activation energy, Bond energy and Transferral energy (including reaction dynamics). Hydronium ions (H30+), in water is by the process of Grotthuss mechanism, the protons transfer from one water molecule to the next. The transferral is directed to proton motion through H20. Transport of Hydronium ions in ice is very close say directionally proportional, to H30 transport in water. If Hydronium molecules are supposed to extinct movement at 190 K (theory), then this implies that H30 motion that is an activated process. Similar to the defect in the Hydrogen-bonded structure (the D defect). Energy change, the result of breaking and forming bonds, the energy to break a bond is known as bond-dissociation energy. When this energy, needed for bond-dissociation is less than the energy produced by the bonds formed the reaction will give of energy. An exothermic reaction, is the process of releasing energy, so the P (product) bond-dissociation is greater than the R (reactant) bond-dissociation. Whereas an Endothermic reaction absorbs energy, the R bond-dissociation energy is greater than the energy released, by the P bond dissociation. This energy change in a reaction, is known as the enthalpy of reaction, the symbol is H, the change of enthalpy is delta H, /_\H. Exothermic reactions, have negative enthalpy change, the molecules, atoms and bonds loose energy to the surroundings. On the other hand Endothermic reactions, have positive enthalpy change, the molecules, atoms and bonds absorb (gain), energy from their surroundings. Law of conservation of energy IS the amount of energy in the universe id CONSTANT. Energy is ONLY transferred in chemical REACTIONS. Entropy, S, is the (m) measure of chaos, large values for entropy, are equal to large amounts of disorder, this is not directed to the conservation law. /_\G = /_\H - T/_\S /_\G Free energy, Gibbs theorizing, the concept of free energy and entropy, it’s unit is calorie or kilocalorie, this energy is used for a specific process and is available from a process (a previous post of mine shows Gibbs equations). Summery: All chemical REACTIONS, are accompanied by change in energy, EVEN in exergonic and endergonic, Reactant + reactant = Product + product + ENERGY RELEASED, the energy is still there.

    Hydroponics

Hydroponics is the cultivation of plants without soil, research has shown that plant life organisms can survive and "freely" grow without the soil, as the nutrients gained are in the water.

  20. Ok this sequence starts with one triangle (a), and ends with 7 on the end (n): So applying Sn. For Arithmetic Progressions: x(a+n)/2 A = first term 1, n = last sum (7), x =number of sequence lines (4) Sn. = 4(1+7)/2 = 16 (remember only the internal sequence triangles). Theorise: calculating 27 lines: 1, 3, 5, 7 (triangles going up at rate of 2 added to previous). Sp. = z -1 x d + 1 Z = Line number to find, m = constant sequence difference (2): 27 – 1 x d + 1 = 53 So the 27-sequence line would contain 53 triangles (internal). So then apply Sn. x(a+n)/2 A = first term 1, n = last sum (53), x =number of sequence lines (27) 27(1+53)/2 = 729. The total amount of internal triangle in 27 lines would be 729. I hope this helps.

    Fastest Run Speed

A person with legs 1 m long should have a maximum speed of 4.02 m/s (or 8.98 miles per hour), so times that by 1.1, and then find out the maximum that a human can lift, put that into a ratio with your 100tons and times by m/s. Gl
