  1. All apes can mate all year, including bonobos, chimps, gorillas, orangutans and gibbons. Also, humans are animals.
  2. That is what I was trying to say although obviously not clearly. So both of those observations are due to the same principle of length contraction?
  3. So length contraction is the shortening of distance from the perspective of the moving observer, and the shortening of the moving object from the perspective of an outside observer?
  4. I thought length contraction was the shortening of the object traveling at light speeds. Did I get that wrong?
  5. Thanks for that link. I've never used timber oil before. I usually use a semi-transparent stain, but I'll look at the timber oil next time.
  6. I really like that box. It looks very tight, good joints, and obviously you used good joinery. Sometimes when I'm making outdoor furniture I take short cuts like leaving out the miter joints.
  7. Really nice! I've always wanted to try carving but never got around to it. I'll have to put it on my short list. Also like the cedar box. Do you have a nail gun you used for parts of that?
  8. That's some awe inspiring logic they use!!
  9. If god inspired people to institute it, then it is not made up by people. Your reasoning in these many threads may work with children and the religiously inclined but on this site people can see right through your vacuous arguments.
  10. No shit Sherlock. But something cannot be "made up" by people, AND the word of god.
  11. Can you please be a little more specific? All I found was "On your own you dashed upon the Sun, which is at a fabulous distance of thousands of miles, thinking it to be a sweet luscious fruit." What are the other numbers you mention, and why do you multiply them together? Did something in there say you should multiply them? And finally, I saw nothing indicating these writings are millions of years old.
  12. You sure about that?
  13. That all religions are made up by people.
  14. If any distance is 'reachable' at close to c, then any distance is 'reachable' at any speed at all. You just need more time.
  15. Yes, we should. It's a wonderful methodology. However, we should not have unconditional faith in measurements, people who conduct experiments, scientific papers, theories, etc. since they are all subject to flaws. But then, I don't know anyone who has unconditional faith in those anyway.
  16. No, I'm not. You on the other hand are conflating your random thoughts with reason and truth. That's the same thing. But you did use different words this time, so good for you.
  17. That's pretty rich coming from you. The same place it comes from for theists. People make it up.

  19. Would you mind adding some physics to this?
  20. That's really nice!
  21. i've looked at a couple of projects with bent laminations but never pulled the trigger. Your description of the effort reminds me that much more time goes into planning and setup than actually goes into executing. One of the things I enjoy about 'construction' projects is that accuracy is more forgiving. If you cut a stud too short you can just toss it aside and start over or put in a shim. Woodworking requires you to be 'on' all the time.
  22. Har! 😂 I once built a chicken coop in my basement then had to disassemble it so I could get it out the door. Uh, derp!
  23. Oh come on. Do a little work.
  24. Nice work! Love all the detail. What types of wood are in there? Looks like some walnut and birch maybe? Was that bent wood difficult?
