Sorry if I missed it, but what is it that you are saying changes the flavor of coffee which occurs between coffee that is fresh brewed, and that which is cooled down then reheated? Although I now drink primarily espresso, in the past after brewing a fresh pot of coffee I would immediately turn off the coffee maker and drink subsequent cups after reheating in the microwave. I never noticed a difference in flavor. I always ground the beans prior to making the coffee and generally bought better beans.

Having Trouble Answering the Question: "Why Do You Want to Work Here?"
zapatos replied to Bunty12's topic in The Lounge
They already know you need a job to survive. Tell them why the job is good for you other than the money. Bonus points if what is good for you is also good for them. e.g. I see this job as a great opportunity for me to grow in a field that works to improve the human condition, something that is of great interest to me. -
It is rather disingenuous of you to make a claim then attempt to brush aside questions regarding that claim.

How does it save the atmosphere? Also, how exactly do wheels "overcome earth's gravity"?

I obtained my first utility model but do not know what to do with that
zapatos replied to ahmet's topic in The Lounge
If nothing else this utility model has served as a lesson that gaining answers to these types of questions before doing the work of developing the 'invention' might lead to better results afterwards. -
I do like watching those when I'm trying something new; that would have been a good idea! Of course I'd have to bleep out the reactions I had when I discovered that a few of the very precise cuts I made were at the wrong end of the board, or when I'd just get done dragging my tools outside about 5 minutes before a thunderstorm rolled in. 😀

Thanks! It was a lot of fun building. 😀

To get rid of the outer hull we throw them in the driveway and drive over them for a week or so. We've also put them into a cement mixer with rocks and water. Did a great job of getting rid of the hulls, plus made the inner hulls nice and clean. To get through the inner shell we use a wire cutter. At the pointy tip you clip between the two halves and the shell pretty much splits in half. Then you clip into the fat part of one of the halves and it drops into quarters which exposes the meat which can be pulled out. It's not quite that easy but it's pretty close. I find it really easy. Usually all I have to do is bring my wife an occasional cup of coffee as she's working. 😀

Haha. I'll give it a try!

Utilize the free stuff. We regularly make our own syrup by tapping a silver maple and black walnut tree in our yard. Make jelly out of the wild grapes growing on the trees. When they do tree trimming or take down trees in the park we'll collect fire wood to heat our house. Pick pawpaws (and put them in a basket). Collect wild mushrooms. Collect black walnuts and hickory nuts. For a relatively small investment we have fruit trees, strawberries, chickens and vegetables that more than pay for themselves. We also can foods and haven't had to buy, for example, tomato products for years. On the other hand asparagus and honey have each cost us about $50 per pound and hours of work. 🤪

And this is the point I made earlier. There is no 'point' in living. We are just one of the many possible configurations of matter in this universe.
-
I'm doubtful that anyone who ever lived has achieved that goal.

Where I was playing they had all three. I know it sounds 'woke' to some, but there is a real effort in special needs areas to stop defining people by their disabilities or certain aspects like being non-binary. For example, to stop saying a Down Syndrome kid and just say he is a kid who happens to have Down Syndrome. I agree the term 'trans kids' is a problem as that then makes being trans such an outsized part of who they are, instead of them being kids who like sports, school, riding bikes, whatever. When people are labeled there is a tendency to forget all the other things about that person. I agree with @StringJunky though that this will for the most part go away after a while. Just like being gay, in a mixed marriages, an atheist, an unwed mother, and all the other things that are no longer an issue for most people.
-
Definitely not. Generally speaking everyone should have a chance to play somewhere, and most women can't compete with men at the more competitive level of sports that emphasize size/strength/speed.

https://www.tibettravel.org/tibetan-local-customs/tibetan-funeral.html#:~:text=Sky burial is simply the, with the dead in Tibet. Some people will have their remains converted into diamonds, or for the hunter in your family, you can have their ashes loaded into shotgun shells for a unique version of the 21 gun salute.

I played in an open soccer league, both men and women. No limits to prevent injuries. Women just didn't play if they couldn't compete at that level. Just like men didn't play who couldn't compete at that level.

That sounds sciencey...

This one sounds different than the situations described by others, in that yours seems like it can be subject to scientific scrutiny. Would make for an interesting published scientific article if demonstrated by science to be true.

And the person died soon after? Did you hear about the premonition before or after the fact? Has she ever claimed to have a premonition that did not occur soon after? Did any of your funny feelings turn out to be a premonition of something that happened soon after? When someone uses the term 'funny feeling' they generally mean funny 'strange', not funny 'haha'.

In theory or in practice? If in practice, what do you propose for a breakthrough given that no nuclear power (AFAIK) seems willing to give up their nuclear weapons? Or even willing to talk about giving up their nuclear weapons.
-
Having a funny feeling is 'so unpleasant'? I'm a bit amazed that you've never had a 'funny feeling'. I recently had a funny feeling when my wife was on the road during rush hour, and I heard on the radio there had been a fatal accident. Felt strange enough that I called her. Fortunately for us it was one of the other half million cars on the road that was in an accident.

Excellent point. I never really see anything about Norway. Then my son goes on a trip to Norway and I hear all about his trip. Suddenly Norway is showing up everywhere! In the news, a brand of candy, the author of an article I read. Of course I don't really believe that references to Norway are showing up simply because my son went there. Instead, I now notice references to Norway since it is now a point of interest with me. How many times does one get a funny feeling when someone doesn't die, but the funny feeling goes unnoticed. Then when there is a death following that funny feeling, we suddenly give it significance that we didn't give it earlier. It would be a simple test to determine the 'filament' issue. Next time at a friend's house, simply turn on and off all lights. If you are all soon sitting in the dark, you might be on to something.

Unfortunately, while you may be able to find such an environment at the local level, at the global level there is never a time when there are no weapons around. Hence the reason nations tend not to disarm.
