  1. Then think of it as an exercise to improve your social skills.

  3. I can't tell. Are you admitting your were wrong?
  4. Not true. It is absolutisms like this that make it so easy for gun supporters to deflect the actions of gun control advocates.
  5. For Christ's sake koti, read what you posted! You have been abusive to just about everyone in this thread. " a manipulative predator" "a twisted thought process" "trying to bleach out" "Or should I have questioned your integrity..." "What is pitiful is the way youre portraying this, I csn only pitty your lack of empathy" So what has happened in this thread by me is the extent of what Amber Heard did to Johnny Depp? Perhaps you should sue me for $50,000,000. You seem to have lost all ability to make rational, evidence-based arguments.
  6. Thus far the only victims of abuse here are those who are attempting to address your OP. Perhaps YOU could make some recommendations on "How best to start including men who are victims of abuse by women into the public discourse". If all you want to do is sing Johnny's praises, I've included a link to the Johnny Depp Fan Club Facebook page for you. https://www.facebook.com/groups/305998319459715/
  7. Gee, that's nice of you. I said in my first post I didn't follow the trial but thought it was a libel case. Then swansont provided the following: a jury found Heard liable on three counts for the following statements, which Depp claimed were false and defamatory: (1) “I spoke up against sexual violence — and faced our culture’s wrath. That has to change.” (2) “Then two years ago, I became a public figure representing domestic abuse, and I felt the full force of our culture’s wrath for women who speak out.” (3) “I had the rare vantage point of seeing, in real time, how institutions protect men accused of abuse.” If you cannot be bothered to support your own claim in your own thread, then don't question my integrity when I question your claim.
  8. Not in this trial it wasn't. Can you please tell me where it was confirmed by court and jury that he is a victim of domestic violence?
  9. I didn't really follow the trial, but I thought Depp sued (and won) for libel, not domestic abuse.
  10. I guess I also think you overestimate the impact of transgender professional competitive athletes.
  11. I'm sorry you saw my comment as condescending, but I stand by my viewpoint that those other issues do seem similar to me. I guess we'll know if I was wrong in about 50 years. I think part of our disagreement is that you are (IMO only) overestimating the impact of trans kids in sports.
  12. In a vacuum this makes complete sense. I should be able to defend myself. No question. Looking at the bigger picture though this is a much more complex issue. Guns in America is not simply a matter of self defense. It is also a matter of aggression, suicide, accident, etc. It is not reasonable to only address one side of the issue in isolation. I should have the right to self defense, but I should also have the right to not die at the grocery store because some nut job is allowed to have firepower more appropriate to a war zone than defending themselves against sexual assault.
  13. I feel like trans kids in sports is similar to inter-racial marriage, gay marriage, women voting, equal pay, women in the military, and others ad nauseam. People don't like change and feel like the current issue is one of a kind which will wreck havoc on some part of society. Like all the other issues we just need to keep pounding away, showing them in the media and in television, making them one of us instead of the "other". We'll have small victories early on, followed by bigger ones, until the tide turns and transgender humans can finally join the rest of the humans as equal. The fact that so many organizations are already addressing trans people in sports is a good sign. As always, the conservatives will drag out the inevitable as long as they can.
  14. No offense but can you provide a citation? I'd like to know who has suggested this.
  15. They don't creep because they are the opposite sex at birth. The creep because they are creeps. Just as easy to have girls creep on girls as boys creep on girls. Another way to look at it is to include cis competitors, but not at the expense of transgender women participating in those sports. Still another way to look at it as finding some reasonable way for all to participate. Not everyone thinks that cis women should have their rights supersede the rights of transgender women. Some of us think the rights of the minorities are just as important as the rights of the majority.
  16. I didn't want you to say it. You asked for an example and I gave you one. Do with it as you please.
  17. No. It is not just 'nurture'. 'Nature' is involved too. You are using outdated stereotypes to make your point. Still doesn't address iNow's point of this thread being about Secondary school.
  18. Many Christian schools. This is from an older article but is still an example. https://www.ajc.com/blog/high-school-sports/girl-not-allowed-play-football-prompts-debate-private-schools/MWyiP8RkJVRROxSXeEOPLP/ What I don't like about this is that someone who identifies as female must play as males, and someone who identifies as male must play as females. Kind of like making someone use the bathroom that corresponds to the sex listed on your birth certificate.
  19. What the different classes / divisions don't account for is the social aspect of sex. Remember, we are also talking about recreation leagues here. If all we are talking about is competition then I agree that anyone can try out for team regardless of gender. But in rec leagues (as we are also discussing) you often have girls who don't want boys being the ignorant turds that boys can often be to girls, ruining all the fun. You also don't want a team of girls where comparatively large and aggressive boys are tackling your littlest girls. IOW, if girls are not allowed a league of their own, many girls simply won't play, which is unfair to them. Not all people play sport for the competition. I played soccer into my 40's and one of my main goals was to not get hurt so that I could make it to the bar afterwards and to work in the morning. I agree that competitive boy's (or "open") leagues should allow girls to try out under all circumstances. (I think it is all...) I think there should be competitive and rec girls leagues that do not allow boys but do allow transgender girls under the aforementioned rules and guidelines I suggested. I'll assume you meant that "generally", because it is certainly not true in "any and all leagues".
  20. No question that some girls can compete with (and out-compete) some boys for quite a while. They should have that option. I wasn't trying to suggest otherwise. The example I presented was a boy's team playing against a girl's team. My point was that we need segregation by sex as an option. Timid, slight 12 year old girls still want to get out and run around in the sun with their friends playing sports. At young ages playing sports is generally more of a social event than the thrill of competition or the desire to increase skills. A small and timid young girl is not going to want to mix it up with aggressive boys. She is not going to play soccer if her only option is to play against boys. There is a reason young boys and girls tend to separate into sex based play groups.
  21. Because boys are generally faster, stronger, and more aggressive. Soccer is a contact sport. I speak from experience coaching 12 year old boys and having them play against 12 year old girls. Nothing dirty. That's just how boys play.
  22. Don Vito Corleone
  23. I disagree. If a 12 year old boy's team is playing against a 12 year old girl's team in a soccer rec league, a lot of girls are going to get hurt and have a difficult time winning. What places don't allow teams to be made of all girls?
