So Bill Gates has lost the courage to live and has motivation equal to 0? I think the evidence tells us otherwise.

Please don't use me as a vehicle for spewing your anger and venom.

I think you are going to find yourself all alone in your particular definition of sex. I'm not sure anyone else besides you would say my three year old granddaughter and my wife are not female. Not to mention that every birth certificate issued in the entire world, under the category of "sex", will have the entry "Not Applicable".

From everything I've read, leaves are great for mulch and you can use 3 - 6 inches on your planting beds. I've never heard they depleted soil nitrogen. If they did I assume that all forests would have a nitrogen deficiency. Leaves are also great to till into the soil, but if you add too much (which is never defined) you can tie up nitrogen as it is breaking down.

It's iNow's thread. His decision.

How so? Can you define what you mean by "value"?

I cannot imagine the US going to war with either China or Russia unless the attack is against the US directly. On the other hand I would expect substantial assistance to Ukraine. We did it with Afghanistan (and lots of other places) and supporting the targets of Russia has been a successful response. With respect to Taiwan I'm just not sure. It is not difficult to understand China's position that Taiwan is already part of China and they are finally getting around to bringing the province under control.

Thanks for all of this, including the calculators!

So you are calculating speed by using the time as measured in one frame and the distance as measured in a different frame?
-
I am not very knowledgeable of the details so please excuse any foolish questions, but don't the astronauts calculate their distance to the distant star to be much shorter than 100 light years, thus making their calculation of average speed to be something less than c?
-
Can you please expand on this? I'm not sure what you mean.

I can just picture the person who took it, getting all excited thinking 'did I just get that?!?!'

Why does an electric car needs so many more chips than an IC car?

It would be helpful to engage in a meaningful way if you would quit making things up and instead discussed things that were not pulled out of your lower orifice.- 53 replies

I asked five questions. Do you intend to answer any of them? -

Can you please provide a citation for this claim? Why? Don't people who buy used cars have an opinion? Are used-car buyers not allowed to fill out surveys for Consumer Reports? Citation? What I found said -
Spin off concerning reliability and safety of electric vehicles.

Revoking the odious comment was a great move on your part I thought. On the other hand, suggesting that my request for supporting data was an unreasonable request didn't go over so well with me. Your assertion that supplies usually last longer than the emergency was not just a throw away comment. It went directly to the issue the OP raised about having energy supplies after a storm. I don't think I was out of line asking for supporting data since you were claiming enough energy is usually available. -
Thanks. Learned something new today!

You mean the rigorous standard of expecting people to have some basis for making a claim other than "well, it happened to my cousin Billy Bob so I'm sure it's a global phenomenon"? Yeah, you should probably get used to that from people. -

So it is true for people you know personally. You made it sound as if it was true more widely. -
And that is why I suggested your level of english may not allow you to communicate successfully on this site.

Yes, I know. But you said "The people who buy new cars have no incentive to favour cars without the built-in redundancy." Can you explain what you meant by that? You make it sound like built-in redundancy is somehow a bad thing. On the one hand it appears you don't like built-in redundancy, but then you follow that up by saying entire cars have to be scrapped due to a simple failure. Wouldn't built-in redundancy eliminate or reduce the need to scrap entire cars due to a simple failure? I don't believe it. I mean, a lot of parts on a car ARE designed to wear out (brake pads for instance), but I don't believe manufacturers are purposely making crappy cars so you'll buy more of them. There is a reason people quit buying so many American cars and started buying Japanese car in the '70s and '80s. It was because American cars were crappy and Japanese cars were good. What kind of dope is going to tell their engineers that next year's goal is a 10% reduction in reliability? And what kind of dope is going to buy the same crappy car they just had to junk because 'simple rubber seals' fail? Over the years, automotive reliability has INCREASED. Your claim doesn't pass the smell test. -

I'm curious how you know that. Do you have a citation? -

Yes, and as I said, you can't replace it once your personal supply is depleted.
