  1. I know! Strange, how we hold onto things that seem superfluous; but aren't. Actually the writer is well known, I just didn't know her until 70 years later.
  2. My concept from the get go. If a cube of metal, 1' x 1', with a 1" hole in its middle; could be vacuumed to absolute "0", the hole itself would disappear and collapse into nothingness. "Ether" to me is the vacuum of space, along with the tailings of many disasters thrown in. The "continuum" is space, and was here long before universal time began.
  3. Honestly, I had no idea that Hunt created this quiz, if in fact he did? Got it from a friend and thought it would be a good "Noodler". on the forum. Another I remember from the 5th grade: The woman was old, ragged and grey and bent with the chill of a winters day. "The streets were wet with the recent snow and the womans feet were aged and slow. She stood at the crosswalk and waited long, alone; uncared for amid the throng????? Unauthored as I remember, but do you recall it?
  4. Naa! Glad you caught it. To me his greatest: Abou Ben Adhem, may his tribe increase; awoke one night from a deep dream of peace, and saw within the moon light of his room!!!! I remember as if it were only yesterday, but it has been over 70 years now.
  5. The following seven questions can be answered with a single word? Only 5% of a Stanford University graduating class got it right. 1. The word itself has seven letters.... 2. It Preceded God.... 3. It is greater than God.... 4. It is more Evil than the devil.... 5. All poor people have it.... 6. Wealthy people need it.... 7. If you eat it, you will die....
  6. If this guy was a scatterbrain dealing in other venues concerning the universe, I wonder why our government has kept them so well isolated from the public, unless there is something there we shouldn't know? And I'm not speaking of little green men!
  7. An bit risqu'e? But harmless. It depicts a rain boot made many years ago. It was of soft red felt on the inside, and a shiny black rubber on the outside.
  8. I'm sure you're right, that it isn't a hot topic. But as I have said many times before, being neither a Physist or Scientist, I must give you guys the edge on all accounts, since I only have ideas as to what this universe is all about.Tesla was a genius, if only in his own vernacular. But after being a working electrician for over 50 years, I understand where he was coming from. quote: from his papers:::According to Tesla's lecture prepared for the Institute of Immigrant Welfare (May. 12, 1938), his "Dynamic Theory of Gravity" was one of two far reaching discoveries, which he "...worked out in all details", in the years 1893 and 1894. The 1938 lecture was less than five years before his death. More complete statements concerning these discoveries can only be gleaned from scattered and sparse sources, because the papers of Tesla are concealed in government vaults for "national security" reasons. When I specifically asked for these papers at the "National Security Research Center" - now the "Robert J. Oppenheimer Research Center" - in 1979, I was denied access because they were classified, even though on that same day I discovered the plans for the hydrogen bomb on an open shelf, and told a Harvard graduate student about it later in the day at a Santa Fe restaurant. The guy went to Los Alamos, copied the plans, and wrote an expose at Harvard. [
  9. This may be just another bit of crackpottery, but: Teslas' papers, which are still in conflict today; pretty much gave us answers to "Gravity" even back then. Like him I believe gravity is nothing more than static electricity continuously being generated and acting as magnetism, while matter moves through a contiguous universe at a constant speed. http://www.netowne.com/technology/important/

    FOOD CHAINS

What I propose is that, had God had made "food chains", I. would be totally pissed. Now!, if nature did it; it's perfectly alright with me.

    Pulsars

We are finding things out about "pulsars" that was little known to science, even a few short years ago. This isn't etched in stone yet, but check it out! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pulsar Another interesting article, but still take it only as a grain of salt??? http://www.nasa.gov/centers/goddard/news/topstory/2004/0220stardisk.html
  12. Our senses may be the product of billions of years without a god, I simply don't know? But if you can and will, please tell me where talent such as this comes from?http://videos2view.net/2believe-JE.htm
  13. If the Higgs Boson is found to be real, it will answer many questions. But my reason for using Magnetism, Mass, Space and Speed was to explain my thoughts on what is considered to be, Gravity. Sir Issac gave us a fantastic formula for figuring it out, then Einstein comes along to really confuse the issue by adding space time, space fabric, and the bending and warping of the whole danged thing. Well, we had better do something quickly, 'cause in another few ??? billion years, this universe just might be gone with most of us still wondering what happened?
  14. No way can I argue the semantics of your expertise. A hole as a hole is a hole! But the void we think is there, what is it?
  15. Black on the outside, yet red and thin; just lift up your leg and poke it in???
  16. Being ignorant leaves me many inroads to enlightenment, and if nothing else; simple conjecture. So, if vacuum is the absence of real things, why do we have so much of it? At this very moment scientists are looking at a universe filled with dark energy @ roughly 75%, or something like that?, and a dose of dark matter filling the remainder, other than a mere 5% left for physical matter to call home. I'm not trying to be argumentative or controversial, just inquisitive.
  17. Not understanding what you are referring to, I'm trying to find a relationship between the two threads? Vacuum to me is a real thing that I can only speculate as to what? At present, science has "Vacuum" on the front burner again because of the Hubble and other powerful telescopes revealing a brand new world. The mass, space and speed thing?, it's spell binding to me. The reason I say this is: as much as we know about our universe, it's as if we are just finding out how little we do know. Everything I write is total speculation, with very little theory and no fact. Professionals who do scientific papers at times must research the topic for years and then be very careful before comng to a conclusion lest their peers flog them. Not being a professional, I have only to (ideate) think a bit, and write it down. But, if one of my mad hatter ideas ever gives a single usable thought to someone, I'll be happy. Now tell me, what were you referring to with the: Yeh. Like your video thing?
  18. No doubt many of you have seen this production. then again, like me; perhaps all of you haven’t? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wy9gXKwRpXc
  19. Three reasons for life “Magnetism, Mass, Space and Speed”, I believe are the main ingredients for a livable universe. Even making the statement as theory; it must be assumed for arguments sake that, matter, magnetism and space are conjunctive properties permitting a world such as ours to exist. Beginning with the overall universe; as far as we know, it maintains a constant speed? But since no one can say for sure exactly what that speed is, let’s just call it “X”. Over the years, mathematicians have successfully formulated the speeds of components in our solar system, even to the spin pf atoms and the (rotation) of our galaxy. But anomalies continue to crop up. For instance, our moon is slipping away from earth’s grasp at something on the order of “4 cm” per year. Why is this so? If “gravity”, instead of magnetism is the force linking all matter together in the universe, wouldn’t you think this couldn’t happen. And earth, it is slowing its revolution by a second or so each year. Is this the slingshot effect of the BB beginning to slow down? But then, we now have the speed up and spread out of an inarticulate space. My question is: are we on the right track to spatially figure these things out? Just an amateur with questions??? "OUCH"! Without an explanation, that red minus sign hurts.
  20. In all honesty, if I have to do a quick kick due to saturated fats as opposed to alzheimers; get me out of here! At least you get the message.
  21. You're likely right. My total physics prowess came to an end when Einstein was demonstrating the up and down movement of an elevator and its effect on matter. Never really tried to associate it with time dilation.
  22. I found this link quite by accident and thought it might be good information for just about anyone. Just don't take it as more than a grain of salt until you have researched it fully. http://www.cbn.com/media/player/index.aspx?s=/mp4/LJO190v1_WS

    FOOD CHAINS

That question was rather morbid, wasn't it? But something to think about. My thought on it is: If God created this universe and the creatures in it, wouldn't you think it would pain him to see one critter devouring another for the sake of survival, even to cannibilism? On the other hand, if life depends on natural selection and dominance by the fittest, food chains make sense.
  24. There is much in this link that I am totally ignorant of, which you might readily explain? But since this is my first look at it, I'll likely need more than a bit of time trying to figure it out.http://www.circlon-theory.com/HTML/motionofphotons.html
