  1. Quite right. Space is a specific entity just as are atoms and their sub-particles. Only difference is, we know quite a bit about the physical sciences, but little about this unphysical aspect of the universe; other than space is there. Believe me though, philosophy goes back much farther than the test tube or telescope.
  2. Even without virtual particles, space itself is physical. A vacuum pump powerful enough to evacuate all space from within a chamber will collapse the chamber. Same as for a paper bag or an entire universe. If a singularity was arguably responsible for the unfurling of this universe, there must have been a tremendous vacuum capable of drawing it all down to a size less than an atom??
  3. If space has no physical attributes, why should it be there at all? Tell me, is space; even wihout having matter in it, not something?
  4. Is vacuum a physical thing, or a condition in which our universe began?
  5. I'm not trying to create an argument, but; if black holes have the power to eventually eat up, or (collapse) a galaxy, how could they be bianary such as a magnet and accomplish this feat?
  6. Somehow, I wonder if what we call gravity might be the monopole CERN is in the process of looking for? You likely have seen this short video. http://www.physorg.com/news188655693.html Me, I wonder if what we call gravity might be different for other galaxies, or perhaps; even in solar systems here in our own?
  7. Earlier this morning I went on google looking for information concerning black holes, especially the one rotating, or resting at the center of our galaxy. I'm following the program just fine until I read that black holes are the work of insurmountable gravitational forces. I look up "insurmountable". Ok, got it! Then I recall reading that gravity is the weakest of the four forces. Now, I have to start all over?

Guess you might call me an optimist.

    Atheist Songs

What is an Atheist? While I think of myself as a SKEPTIC and not an IDIOT, Steve Martin pretty much sums it up in this video. He's pretty much a rich dude and never stolen a penny that I'm aware of. Am I missing something? If nothing else, the group sing was humorous.
  10. A week ago I hadn't a clue, and honestly, I don't know why I'm still trying to make a point?
  11. To realize a person doesn't have to be a genius by expressing an idea makes me feel pretty good. Especially after spending the past days researching and reading tons of theoretical B.S. about a: Cyclic Universe. A theory that in one form or another has been around for years and dates back at least to Einstein. Hey! Buy the books. Such theory had never crossed my mind until earlier this week. Sadly, there is some real catching up to be done if at some near future date I want to write a lengthy thesis on: "My Research". By the way, the following links are not mine. http://www.amazon.com/Endless-Universe-Beyond-Rewriting-History/dp/0767915011 http://www.space.com/2372-recycled-universe-theory-solve-cosmic-mystery.html http://www.actionbioscience.org/newfrontiers/steinhardt.html
  12. This link, illustration; is similar to the view I have in mind, except I feel it is happening constantly and in every corner of the universe, not just the outer shell. (our entire universe is the same age, right?) But this is a result of quarks (matter) being transformed into its antithesis, quauqs, dark matter, anti-energy etc., as they (quauqs) head back to a universal core for eventual re-creation. Remember though, this is only an idea!!
  13. Wow! Only a "real moron" falls on his own sword thinking someone else has stuck him. Twenty some hits and no questions or answers in the first day led me to believe I should have done some prior research. So, this morning i went on the internet and keyed in "cyclic universe". It's amazing how many people thought of this concept long before it ever occured to me. But as I said, mine are ????????s. Even after reading a bunch of these diaries and theories; none matched the ignorance of my thoughts. My idea? (Matter/Quarks) are constantly being converted into (Anti-energy/Quauqs). How is this happening, I haven't a clue. But there must be a good reason for dark energy and dark matter to exist? When this conversion is completed some trillion years from now, I believe a new expansion will begin all over again.
  14. The above question has probably been hashed over many times here on the forum, I just wasn't lucky enough to be part of the hashing. But when a well known physicist or (scientist) says, Quote: our universe will simply slow down, freeze over and quit running or disburse into nothing, I wonder where he gets his information? It makes me kind of nervous. Why not, like the seasons, or water, coal and gas, as well as many other natural phenomena, can't our universe be: "CYCLIC"? What if dark matter, dark energy and some of the other dark sided questions we can't answer, are a part of this revolving door? Me not knowing, I am merly asking questions?
  15. As for trying to juxtipose angels and heros, I find it impossible. Folks who can make that distinction have a lot of faith in something? The article was very well written. Thanks for sharing the link.
  16. Heros come in all shapes, flavors and sizes. For anyone to thinks a Nation has a "leg up" on Heros, it's a very ignorant and dangerous thing to assume. As long as this world turns, someone, somewhere will always go beyond what is expected of them to produce what we think of as, a hero. Even Attila the Hun had his following.
  17. After watching and listening for ten years to the rhetorical conspiracy theories of 9/11, I've had it. This link will show just how far we have drifted from any truth. 9/11 witch hunt http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=endscreen&v=ovXy_enhxG4&NR=1
  18. Ten years after literally hundreds of millions have been spent trying to determine what happened at the trade center, the best minds in the business are not skeptical.Have you ever witnessed the demolition of a building? Especially one that has been inspected and prepared, using explosives for its destruction? Even a two or three story building requires much engineering and people with years of experience in the trade to do the job with accuracy. It isn't a simple task. While we can't prevent maniacs from causing destruction, the least we can do is not give them comfort in believing our own nation would do such a clandestine and heinous thing as to comfort them for their efforts. As I said earlier in the previous post, jump on the Kennedy assassination theories also. It still doesn't satisfied some folks even after 50 years. Who knows? http://www.ehow.com/how_2059817_demolish-building.html
  19. "CONSPIRACY", is that your first or second major? Perhaps you would also like to question President Kennedys murder in Dallas?
  20. A couple weeks ago I posted a topic in "Politics" about heros, which didn't go over too well. Today, I found this on the net and hope it makes more sense. Every country has its "HEROS". I just happen to be an America. http://www.skygod.com/quotes/highflight.html
  21. Heck, I was up to my neck dreaming about stealing the recipe for making that "Shine". Didn't have any time for aliens.
  22. Even as we push the envelope on space travel and plunge into the St Andreas Fault seeking an alien trinity: Science, God and the Devil; we cringe at the slightest unknown mystery here on earth. So, just what is our problem? Not planning to have, or attend a New Years Eve gala last evening, 12/31/2011, it seemed like a good chance to watch some TV. So, after the six o’clock news I turned on the history channel. First, some nerdy but seemingly intelligent folks were out in the woods hunting down “Big Foot”, or (Sasquatch) if you will. How long has this series kept us spellbound? Whoopee! Next a bunch of very distinguished speaking braineiacs were “theorizing” their facts on “Extra Terrestrials”, which was also a Ho-Hummer and nothing new. Then the “Modern Day Moonshiners” took over, followed by “Gold Rush”. And HELL!, I hadn’t even switched channels. Now I know all of us need a bit of diversion from time to time, but just how much Bull Shit is too much? Plus there was also basketball and football to watch. After being fascinated for a time by nuts chasing a Squatch?, Seeing some astrologically proven Mayan pyramids? Mysterious Crystal skulls (13), Two guys making moonshine and a bunch of guys losing their life savings and freezing their asses off while up in Alaska panning for gold; it was 10 P.M. So thinking, "and a partridge in a pear tree", I undressed and went to bed. “Happy New Year”.
  23. Thanks for straightening me out. I am not the best at explaining anything scientific, and most times get it wrong. Another article I was reading sort of threw me under the bus. There is just too much information out there for me to digest. But if CERN hangs on for a while there may be many more discoveries to sharpen good scientific minds. Perhaps you've read this article? Comments at the end are somewhat diverse. http://tech.mit.edu/V131/N44/cern.html
  24. I suppose what I'm trying to say is, if neutrinos are made of quarks and quarks are smaller, could it be that quarks are even faster? And if we find an alternative or something smaller than a quark, what then? I have a lot of questions, but few if any answers.
  25. How will this finding effect the standard model? http://www.popsci.com/science/article/2011-09/baffling-cern-results-show-neutrinos-moving-faster-speed-light
