They may not be as quick as other methods mentioned here, but taking a big overdose of Crack, Meth or Black Tar will definitely get the job done just as effectively. What may be even better, you could possibly get a huge euphoric rush just before it kicks your ass. But then, don't take my word foi it, I'm an old grandpa past 78 and have never given any of these a thought.

While I personally don't believe the Higgs theory, "could it have been" what bought the universe into sync; or just another piece of pie in the sky? Perhaps the LHC at Cern will tell us more??PS: Maybe if we spelled Quark, QUAUQ; we might see a before and after "snap" of the universe? A bit of the Higgs theory. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RFGpNMe5eEQ

This is not aimed at you zapatos, but to your friend who could at least a look at some history that may give him some rational thought. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Malmedy_massacre

Isn't this the same issue being preached here in the US today by both left and right wing advocates? At present a majority of Americans still seem to want a secular but overall religious outlook on things. The other side is quietly praying that right wing "decadence" will eventually bring about a state of total anarchy? Then, it's "game on". PS: Made several trips to Karls home town of Treir when I was stationed in both Heidelberg and Mannheim. Our guys there always seemed to want their eggs, bacon, flour and milk. (on occasion, even a chicken or steak).

I suppose we could look at any nation in such a way. America and Canada for instance. Only a few hundred years after the fact, we are Americans, Canadians and Mexicans "only". Yes, there are those who now want a piece of the pie for free, so to speak. Not happy with the status quo, some would like their own soverign "state/country". Well, it ain't agonna happen. But if justice was to be served in any respect, it would be only if we gave it back to an ancestory some fifteen to fifty thousand years old???. "Native Indians". Well, we don't really know if they were the originals or not, but they had dibs on it long before the Europeans and Spaniards arrived. For that matter, it could have just as easily belonged to Lief and his bunch of Nordic sea farers. As I said to Mooey, you can't always put the blame where blame is due. We are all guilty of something, somewhere in the scheme of things. And anyone who does not acknowledge this as a shortcoming, has their head in their a--. Other than out and out hatred and commerce, land grabbing is the biggest reason for wars.
-
Mooey, it would be nice if we could always put blame where it is due, but it just doesn't work that way in real life. The history of this Mediterranean coastal region and who owns what, "may have began?" thousands of years before others in the area, including, Iraq, Egypt and Arabia. Material in this link is probably as close to unbiased as I have found. It won't change a thing to a locked in mindset, but it might help someone whose thoughts aren't too constricted. http://www.mideastweb.org/briefhistory.htm#From Roman to Ottoman Rule

Wow! To think Mr. Obama's thoughts and mine being on the same page? But if we are all descendents of the one and only Lucy, then each of us can trace our ancestory back to Africa. That isn't the issue here though. As you stated, the Middle East has been carved up and fought over for literally thousands of years, with the UN doing the last big divvy back in in the forties. Yet, internal strife seems to be the rule of thumb for practically all wars fought in these countries, except Israel. Why only Israel? Are they so unique in having a democracy that they have had to fight tooth and nail to maintain a foothold in the Mediterranien. It seems that everyone hates their dexterity and adroitness for turning a desert into a beautiful garden. Those calling for Israels extinction could learn a lot from this "little David" and be thankful for his benevolence and patience. As one old adage goes: Be careful for what you wish.

Stefan, I really didn't mean this post to become an outlet for a visceral attack on anyone. I did it in hopes that people like me could somehow understand the problems of this world. The tides of hate between (peoples) must come to an end in order to salvage humanity. "PEOPLE". All of us are just people! Not black nor white, or all of the in betweens. Just people. Unless we can all arrive at a civil rationale, doomsday will be upon us long before we fully understand the reason for our existance?

I've heard so many derogatory remarks slandering Israelis, (Jews), I could just vomit. Take a look at the link below and tell me how a group of nations; all much larger than this little guy, could be so "bellicose" toward them? NO! not Bellicose, that is a war like term. What the majority of these surrounding nations want, is that Israel be disembowled and left out in the sun to rot. Men, women and children! "Question" is, How can such a small nation comprized of supposed misfits, degenerates, halfwits and idiots pose such a threat to them? Could it be that Israel is the only DEMOCRACY in a region that even God has given up on? I ask this as a Hill Billy, not a religious nut case. http://www.mideastweb.org/maps.htm

Zapatos, it really doesn't matter who is in power or in the white house, yada yada. Politicians, other than a rare breed; do as they are "instructed'. It's a pity we can't throw their sorry asses out and start all over again. But then, we would call that "Anarchy", which I also don't agree with. Basically, what can be done to correct the situation? We need good answers, not more problems.
-
Let's leave it go at this point. You are obviously looking for more than just an argument and afraid to show your true colors. "Good bye."

If you don't mind my asking, do you live in the USA? Somehow our mindsets and logic of a situation seems a dichotomy and miles apart. I'm somewhat familiar with european culture, but what I'm hearing from you leaves me at a disadvantage in our discussion. So, do you live among us here in the states or Canada? As an electrician most of my life, I have also taken on many side jobs to keep food on the table, a roof over my family and some clean clothes. Dishwasher, busboy, sweeper and just about everything in between, including tree trimming and removal. These jobs were done not because of added revenue, but necessity. Do you have any idea what is involved in tree trimming or removal, even with todays equipment? I'm talking about trees, not bushes and shrubs.
-
Lemur, as you stated: Look at the content of the jobs available and ask yourself if you would want to do them. I like your concept and it makes sense unless you are the buyer. I had ice damage to a tree in my yard this spring and wanted it removed. "Ain't that easy". The phone directory is filled with "potential" Arborist. Problem is, getting one committed to doing the job. I had eight estimates before getting one that gave me a date for its removal. Man, God isn't that busy!. Today, after three weeks and adding only a hundred bucks to sweeten the pot, I hired a certified and bonded arborist. Paper works complete and next Friday the tree will be down and gone. (The first seven guys were recommended by "AHEM", friends; and all had day jobs). Imagine that? Fifteen or twenty years back, I would have saved a bunch of $ and did it myself.

Statistically this may be close to the truth, but it's the other categoriies that worry me? http://www.heritage.org/Research/Reports/2007/08/How-Poor-Are-Americas-Poor-Examining-the-Plague-of-Poverty-in-America No point. It's just that most folks on the forum are so reticent, you might think of them as FBI or CIA Agents. Good to know you had some military time, hopefully not war time. We got away from the issue. But what is the possibility that five generations from now, our kids, kids, kids, kids, will still be paying on this monsterous debt?
-
Perhaps my question should have been; Of folks unemployed in your countries, how many of them are on welfare as compared to those actually seeking a job? Our problem here is, we probably have a good 35% of Americans not working. Of that, 10% are actually seeking employment, while the other 25% wouldn't take a job if it was shoved under their nose. Tell me, what is your mix? In all honesty, I never owned a pair of shoes costing more than $3 or $4 dollars in my life until I went into the Army during the Korean War, Then it was two pairs of combat boots, a pair of dress browns,(plus the shorts and socks)to go with them. Until 1988 or 89, I thought dress shoes were something on a mannequin in a store front. My wife bought me a pair of Florshimes about that time,$80.00; which I still have and wear on occasion. Tell me, not to be snide; but have you ever worked at a job requiring physical labor for any length of time?
-
You stated: The very essence of my thinking, but you missed my intent totally. I had previosly asked in post #13: Tell me, where the hell do they get all their money, and you dissed my question completely. I've worked an entire life time and still "don't own a pit to hiss in". But somehow these poor downtrodden outcasts of the elite manage to live far above "my" means. WHY? Believe me, the wealthiest kids I've ever known didn't dress to the nines, drive a big Cadallac, Porsche; BMW, or flaunt their Daddy's money. Most, if not all of them would have got their a--es kicked had they done so. Wealth makes wealth, not ignorance and stupidity. But then I ask myself. Self, where did you go wrong?
-
Your statement is right on target. Many economies are spoiled to hell and gone. I can understand why people with wealth don't worry about where their next million is coming from. Dumb Asses will give it back to them before the week is out. Personally, in my 78 years; I've never spent $100.00 on my best pair of dress shoes. Little more than that for my Sunday suit. Some kids today run around with hundred dollar sneakers on, a pair of jeans costing little less, and his/her Mom and Dad don't even have a job. Tell me, where the hell do they get all the money and where did I go so damned wrong? I've worked an entire life time and still "don't own a pit to hiss in".

In many ways this reflects the predominance of right-wing interests in the U.S., since low progressive taxes help those with the largest incomes, and a high debt increases interest rates so that the excess wealth which only the rich have in large amounts can be invested at a better return. So the rich benefit coming and going from the artificial creation of a large debt by low taxes. Few countries are blessed by nature to be sitting in such a perfect situation as the United States and Canada. We have over 300.1 million folks in America alone, yet; only the combined population of France, The British Commonwealth, Germany and Italy, equal our 300 million. So tell me, how many people do you have in your country on the "dole", taking a daily nap and draining your piggy bank like America does? "I'd say few, if any."

Every post I read was excellent. I just don't recall seeing the particular link I'm using to start this discussion. Swansont probably asked the most profound question of all by saying, "has either party ever stopped spending"? And the answer had to be no.My concern is, when does this nations people get it through their heads and punch drunkenness enough to realize the game must end. We can't keep bailing out big losers at the average tax payers expense. Neither can we destroy every entrepreneur who makes an invstment. Right now our government seems to be at a standstill of stalemate. What happens if politicians and "big money" find the going to rough and decide to vacate? Oh! it can happen. That's what revolutions are made of. What shall we do then, start all over again? You could have left the Army, Security and Weapons out of the mix since they are all necessary. Even some of the folks pushing money around serve a purpose. But government protects the lazy and worthless to no end, whis is the saddest thing. People pushing money around to fund to this foolishness are as bad as those to whom they are giving it. I suppose you could really call it, the greedy leading the greedier.
-
Will government ever take its foot off the gas pedal of spending? We're up to our necks people and the engine is revving even faster than ever. So, can this "insane" attitude of borrowing to spend more be curbed before we destroy America? Is there a ceiling to it? The link below may be absolute truth, or a fantasy of one party kicking at the other. Let's face it, there is no innocence of either party. Both are at fault. Whatever, the whole sad mess must come to an end soon or we will all say goodbye to our freedoms. The wolf, (us) is at our own door. "HELP"! http://www.youtube.com/embed/VtVbUmcQSuk

I don't want to change the game at all, but just picked this up off the internet. It's about gas MPGs and I really don't know the validity, since such bunk has been around for years.http://www.triplegasmileage.com/

Don't be duped lemur while patting yourself on the back. Superority is not Americas or any other super power to have for long. "Dominance is what counts". Weaklings will never getthe job done. Best you remember that! "Now, get off your ASS before Darfur kicks you silly.
-
Lemur, don't be an 'ass" and go further! If you think I will bend and bow to your questioning, you're full of it and I feel sorry for you. Let's just leave this part of it go. OK? Have a pint on, or for me. I'd love to buy you one and be in England again to enjoy it. June of 54 was my only visit, as I remember?

I'll offer this up as something I neither believe or disbelieve in; but a thing all of us should keep in mind and think about. "Poor Lindsey Graham". Politicians should keep their mouths shut unless they find themselves roasting on a spit. Most of the narration is done by a sweet young thing I would have loved to meet before she went,??? Part 1 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6xqtYkd2gCs Part 2 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=riSJcZC89Hc

You are absolutely right on all counts John. I'm not up to date on European standards, but as Americans; we are dumb asses to allow such "tomfoolery" to go on unchecked. Doesn't matter the political party you buy into, it's the frenzied stupidity of both.
