I have trouble teaching this subject because I am Catholic and I am a science major. I know according to my religon I am not supposed to believe in big bang and evolution, but I have seen to much scientific evidence to not believe.

Hello, I teach 6ht grade science in a small southeastern Illinois community. My students wanted me to post a question and see what kind of responses we could get. In our science class we cover such topics as cells, atoms, physical and chemical properties, simple machines, and the scientific method. They were wondering is this is typical of all 6th grade science. If not, what kind on topics do you cover in your 6th grade science classes? They would be happy to get as many responses as possible. How are you able to integrate writing into your math or science lesson? My students are going to have to write on next year's state standardized test and I would like to help get them more practice. I am not good at writing personally, but would like my 6th grade students to have more practice. I am looking for ideas at ways to put writing into some of my lessons. I would be grateful for any help on this topic. Thanks

I have only been teaching for three years and wanted your opinions on President Bush's "No Child Left Behind" program that he has started. I feel this program is setting teacher's up to fail at their jobs. They want scores to continually get better each year or your school gets penalized and does not get funded as well. To me, it seems that the schools that need the most money are those who are in trouble. If they get more money, then the schools can get more programs like Title 1 to help students who are struggling. Am I just looking at this wrong? Please if someone could explain this new program to me I would be grateful.

Hi, I am a forth year teacher and I am wondering how your school moniters your use of state standards. We have to show a binder that has lessons that cover each standard. Also, how do you make sure what you are covering is one the state test?
