  1. I think I'd have to agree with sayo's definition on this one, cap'n.
  2. So then I guess it's time to ask for your definition of psychic powers.
  3. Is it still deja vu if it's not me remembering the event happening in the past but me knowing pretty exactly what will happen for the next five or so seconds as it's happening?
  4. That's a bit strange. The question asks you to ignore all drag and then asks whether water or air provides more drag. If drag was in the question, I would assume you would want as much of the jetski above the water as possible.
  5. I frequently (on an almost daily basis) run into a situation that I feel as if I been in before. I have a good idea exactly what is going to happen next. I have no control over it. I can't explain it. I don't think I'm psychic, but I'm saying something like that could possibly be explored more before we can completely dismiss psychic powers, even though tv psychics have long since been dismissed.
  6. So psychics can't exist because tv psychics are fake?
  7. I wouldn't assume that psychics a) have control over it and b) always know they have it.
  8. So is it easy enough to add "today's posts" under a user's "quick links"?
  9. Well, I guess if one version of windows causes a lot of problems, three ought to just be heaven.
  10. I do, but on occasion they can get marked as read without warning. I don't know why; it's not a big deal. I just thought it would be convenient to have "today's posts" when that happens since it's normaly one day's worth of posts anyway.
  11. Well, I guess to keep things updated: I've formated the hard drive. Now XP doesn't want to install until I've put in a disk containing a previous operating system. So I'm looking for one of those.
  12. I was wondering if it was possible to reinstate the old "today's posts" link? That was the most convinient way for me to browse since I check the site about once a day.
  13. No, it's just "How many lines of symmetry are in this figure?:" X I believe it's four: One that's verticle, one that's horizontal, and two that follow down the middle of each of the lines. Those would be the lines where each side is a mirror image of the other.
  14. I assume you mean simplest? If so, probably just realize that they average to 25.5 and there are ten so it's 255.
  15. Ok, I can see where this is getting confusing. Basicaly, I was to install XP on the computer so as to have a brand new computer (like one I could buy from a store). Everything on it is worthless or has been transfered to the newer computer and is safely backed up. What I'm having trouble doing is unistalling the origional version of 98 that is interfering with the instalation of XP. What I'm going to do at this point is go to MS Dos and delete the windows file. I'll check back in a little bit to let you know what happened. Thanks for all the help.
  16. It only seemed like N/kg was more correct because g is a measure of how many Newtons pull on a mass for a given number of kg (at the Earth's surface). I'm not sure exactly how m/sec2 translates into a realistic description.
  17. Do you know why they weren't given ballots?
  18. Well, I found that deltree c:\windows thing under MS Dos. It asks me if I want to delete it all. Is that what I should do? I want to be sure on this before I try.
  19. Hey, that reminds me swansont. I think I meantioned this in another thread, but my physics teacher recently pointed out that a (in particular g) is better described by N/kg rather than the typical m/sec2. Is one more correct than the other? Is there any advantage to one or the other?
  20. MulderMan's link looks very helpful. Thanks for that. The only problem is that it starts assuming your hardrive is clean. So to the instuructions above. I don't know what the "BOOT USING A FLOPPY" part means. Can you further explain what it is I have to do there?
  21. So then is hippocampus (checked the spelling this time) satisfactory?
  22. If I remember correctly from psychology, that part of the brain is known as the hypocampus. I don't exactly understand what that is asking.
  23. Nicely said, ecoli. I too can't wait to vote. I'll have to wait until I'm more than 21 to vote in a presidential election, but it's good to know that I can soon vote in all the smaller elections. It's good to see Iraq responding in the same way.
  24. Thanks guys for the replys. I'll have to work on it later today because I've got to run now. Just one more question though: what exactly are the partitions and what are any advatages to having more than one?
  25. xy,(x+1)(y-1),(x+2)(y-2),... This particular sequence happens to start at the point (2,5).
