  1. Interesting question. On a related note, what would happen if the patient was perfectly able to make their own decisions, but unable to pay?
  2. As far as I can tell, all such "messages" could be "misunderstood" as meaningless coincidence.
  3. So, suddenly, a very specific request has been answered by a more general response. That's what I'd expect from wishful thinking. Next time, get Him to send an alligator. That won't look so much like a meaningless coincidence.
  4. I'm willing to bet that there was crime before there was money. Money is a proxy for "stuff that I want"- I believe the economists call it "utility". Stealing food is pretty common in the animal kingdom; use of cash isn't. I think you have made a statement, realised that it is unsupported, and put a question mark on the end of it.
  5. Do you think that stretching and releasing a spring breaks the conservation of energy? Do you think that a rotating disk breaks it? Do you think that winding a string does so? Do you think any component of the system can , on its own, break the law of conservation? Do you think there is a way in which any of the components can "know about" the others so it can suddenly start breaking them? Well, without that, there's no way that the ensemble can break the energy conservation law.
  6. Let's just say that I'm part of a social species.
  7. "better than a train" is irrelevant. However "better than reverse osmosis" is interesting. How much does "not wasting so much fresh water in the first place" cost?
  8. In both cases the ratio (lighter ion/ heavier ion) increases.
  9. Yes, I'm particularly fond of duck.
  10. Are you aware that the English language often uses the same word for related, but different, things?
  11. In this case "accurate" is an absolute. It's right or it isn't. If it isn't then it's a waste of time.
  12. You might. I don't I am clearly the superior animal.
  13. Headed in the right direction.
  14. You need to start by defining "superior" I like bacon so I think that salting and drying makes an animal superior.
  15. I'm betting on "Evidence that he can't do maths".
  16. I asked you to predict the boiling point of water because it's something that a ToE should be able to predict. That's what makes it a Theory of "Everything". So, could you explain how the big bang and evolution can combine to predict the boiling point of water please? Or is it a "theory of everything except boiling points"?
  17. OK, please use this theory to predict the boiling point of water.
  18. If one person in 10 switches the TV on "to see what's happening" that will be a big power spike. If it knocks the power grid out (even locally) and that causes something important to fail (traffic lights would be an obvious possibility) then Trump's vanity project will kill people. Are there any Trump supporters here who would like to comment on why they think he' doing a good job?
  19. If hundreds of millions of people reply saying "Where is the 'unsubscribe' button?", even he might get the message.
  20. I'd like to think that even Trump would realise that spamming the whole nation would be counter-productive. I'd like to think that...
  21. Is your torque wrench calibrated in Joules?
  22. I'm not sure Kosher makes that much sense. Ask anyone who likes cheeseburgers or lasagna or.. well lots of stuff. The usual proscription of milk and meat is that it's forbidden by the Book. Thou shalt not seethe a kid in its mother's milk. Who won? And before it picks up the flavours from the barrels (etc) it tastes awful.
  23. I presume you have lumped the Calvados in with the brandy.
