  1. Can He set Himself a task He can't accomplish? If He can then that task id impossible for Him. If not then the job of setting that task is impossible for Him. One way or another, one of those is impossible for Him. How long will it take you to realise that the preachers have misled you?

    Shield

I find that I am less likely to lose in a fight I don't have. If I walk out of the building where a would-be protagonist is present, then I put a brick wall between us. It has already been agreed that a solid wall is a very good shield. If I end up in a fight with a man whose fighting skills are stronger than mine then I will come off badly. If I meet a man whose skill in avoiding a fight are stronger than mine, we both win. What skills should I practice?
  3. One approach would be to chill the coconut oil slowly so that the components that freeze easily settle out, then filter them off and use the remaining liquid fraction which will have most of the scent. Another approach would be to add a different oil with a low melting point. A bit of googling suggests that corn oil might be worth trying.

    Shield

In what way would, for example, a heavy brick wall not meet this requirement?
  5. Nope. 40 days and 40 nights. Or do we not believe what it says in the Bible?
  6. Some of us have beer and pince nez (and a love of irony).
  7. It's not my field but I think Wednesday's game is England Vs Croatia, in which case the Scots and Welsh will be on Croatia's side.
  8. And He knew it wouldn't work. So when He put the serpent in garden He condemned all of humanity to suffering. It's easier to understand when you realise that the sky fairy isn't real, then you can accept that His decisions don't seem to make sense because He didn't make them; nobody did. Yeah- like putting a baby in a lion's cage. The baby has freewill- so that makes it OK. Do you have any idea how dumb that looks to anyone outside the "faith"?
  9. If God is omniscient then He knew what would happen when He put the serpent in the garden of Eden. In that case He's entirely responsible for all the evil in the world. Not a nice guy
  10. After flicking through 4 pages of this thread I can't see anything that addresses a simple point. I am in my natural habitat already. I'm a human, on Earth.
  11. Wow! Who remembers this thread. It started with this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G61x68TG548&feature=youtu.be Anyway, here's what Trump is currently up to I have broken more Elton John records, he seems to have a lot of records. And I, by the way, I don’t have a musical instrument. I don’t have a guitar or an organ. No organ. Elton has an organ. And lots of other people helping. No we’ve broken a lot of records. We’ve broken virtually every record. Because you know, look I only need this space. They need much more room. For basketball, for hockey and all of the sports, they need a lot of room. We don’t need it. We have people in that space. So we break all of these records. Really we do it without like, the musical instruments. This is the only musical: the mouth. And hopefully the brain attached to the mouth. Right? The brain, more important than the mouth, is the brain. The brain is much more important.
  12. Probably the only offspring.
  13. Well, it would be interesting to see a chihuahua trying to mate with a great Dane.
  14. Is this a language thing? Do you understand that "most" is not the same as "all"? Do you understand what necessary means? It means it is an absolute requirement without which it can not happen.
  15. What you said was that you thought it was necessary. That means that you thought groups could only be formed with religion.
  16. Do you feel like this one too?
  17. It may have been a big pile of rocks.
  18. Today I learned that I can't resist an argument*, and that they do a 150 gram bar too. http://www.toblerone.co.uk/products/toblerone-milk/toblerone-milk-chocolate?c1=1834&c2=1847&p=3057 * OK I already suspected this
  19. He plainly did get a bulb that large to light by faking it. On the other hand, as far as I can tell, your earlier suggestion wouldn't light a bulb of any size at all. Indeed, that's how we know you can't accept it at face value, and it must be faked somehow.
  20. Apart from any water present (and I think that's typically removed) the components of crude oil are unlikely to form an azeotrope. But it's still likely that the relative volatility of the components at different temperatures will change, so it's likely that you will end up with a different composition depending on temperature. I'd not like to have to predict what the changes are except that I'd guess that it would affect polar materials more than non polar ones (for a given normal boiling point). It's going to be complicated- especially if the blowing air through it oxidises things. The only way to find out is to do the experiment.
  21. If I stick a pin in my leg I stimulate neurons more, but it doesn't make me feel better.
  22. LOL It's faked- there's a Tesla coil or some such under the table.
  23. I think you are engaging in wishful thinking. You certainly have no valid evidence for your position. Pensions are also only affordable because of technology, so... There's something fundamentally silly about using the internet to slag off technology.
  24. "Is there a rational reason for religion?" Do money and power count?
